Arcata Bird Sanctuary

The marsh is always a good experience. Come for bird watching – plenty of interesting bird life here. Come for a peaceful stroll – enjoy the serenity of the place. Come for exercise – good place for jogging. It’s good in all seasons. Every time I come to town to visit family, we come here.

Nice place to watch sunset. Bird watchers paradise. There is a chess board in the table ready for pieces.

Arcata Bird Sanctuary is a hidden gem in the middle of Arcata, CA. The park is clean and well maintained and is home of many local species. There are lots of parking lots available, entrance is free. Dogs are allowed. This park comprises of small lakes, mashes, gorgeous trees and as its name says, many different types of birds. One can easily spend two or more hours just looking at the birds and scenery. I highly recommend it.

Well-kept trails surrounding beautiful ponds filled with various birds and wildlife. This area is bordered by Arcata bay. There is also an interpretive center with good bathrooms (avoid the portapotty in the parking lot at all costs!) Lots of blackberries to pick when they are in season.

If you are into birdwatching this is a paradise! Lots of different types of birds!

I love the arcata marsh and wildlife sanctuary for walks and watching the sunset. So many amazing birds to see and observe. I've seen pelicans, great egrets, grey heron and more! I think it's really cool that the city doesn't allow drone flying there to keep the birds safe.

Great place to relax, walk, or just watch the scenery. 8:30am bird walks every Saturday at Klopp lake.

Nice place to stop and do a quick hike. There are many ducks here. Watch out for animals when driving up as well as the very sharp turn about halfway.

Love this place. The trails are stunning and offer plenty of walking/running space. Very dog friendly, but there are moments of quiet.

Daddy Chad showed me this place. I love it. I went there with my ex and he was kind of an a******, but I still love the place and got to see a lot of amazing Birds!
