Chanate Historic Cemetery

this place is full of unedited history and knowledge that the public SHOULD have access to. I went here for a field trip when I was a child in the late 90s, and learned many harsh facts of the 1800s. literally a tin can headstone cemetery where numbers display the remains rather than words or marble stone. it could be the county has closed this place off because of the raw and unfiltered history of racism that the county of sonoma holds deep in its checkered past. Chinese immigrants and 1st Nation Americans have been buried here because they were not allowed to be buried at the then prestigious whites (and one Japanese family) cemetery of Santa Rosa rural on Franklin/ McDonald. OPEN THESE GROUNDS TO THE PUBLIC.

Can't speak to how the cemetery actually looks because at the time of this posting the campus it is on is closed by the county. Not sure how long that's going to last, but if you're planning on visiting just change your plans cuz this place is unfortunately closed. Wish it said that somewhere before I went by. :/
