Avalon has worked on my beloved vintage Airstream twice, and they've done expert work both times: solar power, electrical system, plumbing system, propane system, on-demand hot water, ceiling fans...
My compliments to the crew, and to the owner, Adam, who is terrifically knowledgeable about these silver beasts and their quirks, as well as being conscientious, thorough, and possessed of a fabulous eye for detail. He makes excellent suggestions ("We could fit on two more solar panels than you requested") really listens to my preferences, and then tailors the work to suit.
Moreover, Avalon has been extremely understanding of, and patient with, my needs as a disabled client; I can wholeheartedly recommend their work to anyone with special needs in the ADA realm.
They are not the cheapest option, but their meticulous way of working and the splendid results are totally worth what they charge.

I haven't had the opportunity to hire Adam to work on my trailer, but I spoke with him over the phone and he was a great help. Really knows his stuff and courteous. If the opportunity arises, I will trust him with my home.

Adam really knows solar and electrical set ups. I brought my van to him after experiencing an issue with my panels and he was able to troubleshoot and get me back on the road the same day!

I found Adam online and I brought my 63 Shasta 1500 trailer to him for a makeover. New floor, added some electrical, lighting, got my stove working properly, new trailer hitch with sway bar, new inverter, new tires, hub caps and paint. Adam did a fantastic job on her and now Trixie is a head turner as we drive down the highway to our next camping adventure.

A five star review of Avalon is a complete no brainer. Adam and his team consistently provide outstanding service. The integrity and honesty we have experienced while working with Avalon have given us, a couple of Airstream newbies, the confidence we needed to hit the road.

Adam helped us create a work list on our “new” 1958 Flying Cloud, helped us prioritize the needed work so we could approach it in phases. Adam patiently explains the work needed, and has taken the time to walk us through the new systems. While our rig had been previously modified, he made sure all essential systems were up to his high standards.

We are just completing a two month cross country road trip and it is not an exaggeration to say that we wouldn’t have made it without Avalon.

I found Avalon RV and Adam, its owner, to be that archetypical but rare business that exceeded all of my expectations for converting our Class A RV from lead acid (useless) batteries to lithium ion plus lots of solar.

Rather than many dealers and shops that stock "complete kits" form a manufacturer to install without a lot of planning (or consideration for the usability of the end result), Adam's work was meticulously planned out and 100% customized to our needs using commercial-level components (such as Victron), and including matching woodwork and various metal fabrications. Superb.

Not only that, but his work was installed beautifully, without crowding, and with all cables labeled and a block diagram of the new systems included. A high degree of care and planning for future "serviceability" was used throughout.

Just an FYI, I had a great feeling after my first meeting with Adam, especially as I noticed his shop area (both inside and outside) were pristine, with sweeping-up occurring throughout the day. In my experience this tells a lot about what to expect from a shop.

Finally, and most comprehensively, if I ever have to do similar work on this or a future RV, its Avalon RV that I will call first.

I am so pleased with Avalon RV & Adam Blair, I do not know where to start. The short story is, I have had issues with my cabover camper for 20 years and its inability with the original, and then an “updated”, solar system keeping the batteries charged for more than a day. I was using 2 new AGM batteries and lucky if I made it camping 1 ½ days before I needed to run a generator just so I could make it to another day. I had 2 other RV companies look at the system and they had no recommendations. My wife and I were extremely frustrated. We were frugal in our energy use. I tried educating myself about solar systems but the power difficulties continued. Adam found issues with the batteries wired incorrectly along with a barely adequate solar system.
Adam is a business man that one appreciates. He listens to your story, then educates you on what is inadequate and what needs to be done to make it right. When you pick up your RV, he then spends the time to inform you on how to use and interpret information from the monitors of the installed solar system.

Adam and his team repaired my wheel well damage due to my tire delaminating. The work looked great and other than the aluminum looking new, you can't tell there was ever a problem. I also had him install a new axle, awning, water tank and water heater. The quality of all of the work was top notch.

This is the first review I've written in years. And the reason is I absolutely loved the knowledge, professionalism, friendlyness and execution of the job Adam & team did for me. My Victron electrical system had some issues so they not only troubleshot and fixed the problem, but also walked me through additional recommendations and followed ups everal times after to make sure the system was working well.
Can not recommend a business higher from my experience.

I've got a well used off road pop-up trailer, far from the Airstreams the shop specializes in renovating. I needed the electrical completely redone, and wanted to install a solar system that would keep me running in wilderness areas for a week at a time.

Adam's shop and service were outstanding. Not only did they go the extra mile to ensure that every item in the trailer was working, they did an excellent job of setting me up with a great solar option that performed exactly as I wanted.

Adam's work was first class, the work was completed promptly (much faster than I expected, given the amount of work that needed to be done), and I couldn't be happier. Absolutely worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Adam's shop.

Avalon is the quintessential Airstream repair and restoration house in the Bay Area. I have had Adam completely restore my 1968 Trade Wind - replacing every system and appliance including installing solar, axles, brakes, tanks, and remodeling the dining area with a surround booth with both dining and cocktail tables. Adam has had emergency phone calls from me from the road many times - always answers his phone with advice for quick fixes. His work is first rate, timely, and always within budget. I wouldn't want to be a vintage Airstream owner without having Adam in my back pocket....

We loved working with Adam -- he completely renovated our first older Airstream as well as made some raved about mods to our newer Airstream! Adam is fun to work with, very creative, collaborative and detail oriented. He knows his stuff and I can't wait to work on another project with him!
