Excellent food!! We ordered the Curry Noodle & the Pad Se-ew. Both were excellent, the curry was a little spicy & we ordered it at a 1 🤷‍♀ just a prewarning... But the pad se-ew was so good we ordered a second one to go!! Portion sizes where very good as well.
Highly recommend.

I usually hate coming to Santa Cruz but i had to come to this area to visit family. We had stopped by this place today because my mom wanted thai food and this place had surprised us because its such a small hidden restaurant but the food was amazinggg. Im from the bay area and the thai food in the area is mediocre but i love loved the pad thai and sweet and sour here. The spice was on point because usually other places don’t do as spicy but this is real thai spice and i really enjoyed that.

We were looking for something relatively light and not dough based and happened to come across this Thai restaurant and I’m so happy we did! I had the Pad Thai and it was honestly delicious. Great portion size (lunch menu is slightly cheaper and smaller) but mostly really good and deep flavours. 100% recommend if youin the area!

The food was delicious!!! The service was so good the server and the cook where so nice even tho we arrived kinda late they were so nice, we order Thai noodles and Hawaiian fried rice, we’re definitely going back! Super recommended

This was my first experience trying Thai food many years ago. It blew my mind. Since then I've tried many other Thai restaurants all over, none compare to this place. I could eat their massaman curry for the rest of my life and be happy. Send me the recipe! Returning to this place over a decade later, this is real Thai food and still the best outside of Thailand itself (according to my husband who says he would fly back to Thailand just to eat)! Don't change a thing!

Take out: The spicy noodles and the green curry were excellent and I’m glad that the person who took my order questioned my initial request for spicy at 4of5 so I changed to 3 and it had a very comfortable kick.

I have to say, I’m very pleasantly surprised at what seems to be an improvement in customer service at this restaurant. I have always loved the food here and haven’t found a better pad thai in the area. My hesitation has always been their service (closed when their hours state they are open, not answering their phone for a takeout order despite several call attempts, an abrasive demeanor from the owner). The last 2 times I’ve been here, there has been a young woman answering the phone/working there when I arrive and she is excellent! Maybe this is just a coincidence and nothing has changed, but I hope not. This woman is very friendly, efficient, and has contributed to a marked improvement in the customer service provided here!

Definitely the best tasting Thai food restaurant in Santa Cruz county. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We ordered online and picked it up and ate at home. Customer service was fantastic. Super sweet and professional. We will definitely be back, and glad we are local!

Easily my favorite Thai place in Santa Cruz. The pad Thai is always perfect and the people running it are some of the nicest I’ve ever met.

They just reopened the dining room so there is inside seating again and the heat lamps over the tables outside are awesome as well.

Edit: wife and I love Thai, it’s our date night objective. Ventured out to other Thai places, won’t do it again. Thai basil is easily the best

Best Thai place in town. The spice scale is perfect. The customer service is 10/10 polite and attentive. I saw some old reviews complaining about the service but I just can’t imagine that here. Every time I’ve come by the people here are so kind and always asking questions to make sure everything is OK without being overbearing.

The food service is timely, not slow, and everything is seasoned SO well. NOTHING is bland or overdone, I can’t believe I have to say that. But I’ve tried places in town where it IS bland or TOO sweet. Definitely worth a try if you’re hankering for Thai!

This is the best place to eat in all of Santa Cruz!!! It’s a very small family run business and the family is so sweet! There is not to many seating options but the beach is right around the corner. The food is the best I’ve ever had!! Highly suggest if your in the mood for Thai food.

Best Thai food in Santa Cruz hands down. Their curry dishes have levels of spice which are actually insanely spicy which I love since most places will just add a little slice and call it hot.

If you have not eaten at Thai Basil then you have been missing out! Extensive menu, lots of variety, and great service! The veggies used are always so fresh and amazing. The chicken is tender and the sauces and spices are literally enough to make this our regular go to place (we have been doing take out since COVID) and are always disappointed when our Thai Basil cravings get denied when they happen to be closed (Wednesdays). How good are they? Well we have been ordering double orders of each dish because it makes for great leftovers and if we only ordered one order of each there wouldn't be any left!

I have been coming here with my wife for several years now, and have found this to be the most delicious Thai food available in the area.

A few notes for those who may have specific dining needs or expectations: This is a very small restaurant that cannot serve more than a handful of people at a time. I would not recommend coming here if you are in a hurry. This also applies if you are ordering takeout from them. We have had many experiences where the service was quick and did not have to wait long at all, but it is not consistently speedy.

Having said that, the food truly is fantastic and the flavors much more authentic than any I have found outside of Thailand.
