We recently arranged our baby boy’s funeral with Alameda Family Funeral Home, where we found immense support and compassion, especially from our funeral director, Paul Graham. Being a Hindu family unfamiliar with burial processes, Paul was incredibly helpful. He guided us through the entire procedure, assisting us in finding suitable cemeteries with baby lots, which eased our worries significantly.

The team’s flexibility was a blessing, particularly as we needed to reschedule the funeral multiple times due to my wife’s hospitalization. This level of understanding and accommodation made a difficult time slightly more bearable.

We’re deeply thankful for the kindness and professionalism shown by Paul and the Alameda Family Funeral Home team. Their dedication to helping families during such sorrowful times is commendable, and we highly recommend their services.

My wife and I lost our baby at week 23rd of pregnancy. We wanted to keep the baby's ash and searched online for the cremation services. We found Alameda Family Funeral & Cremation and called their hotline. I talked to Megan and expressed my intention. She was very helpful. She walked us through the process, required documents such as verification letter from the doctor, service fee. I was very surprised when they offered the service for a very little fee as an act of goodwill. I got all the info needed and made an appointment. My wife and I went to the funeral home and meet Paul. He was super nice and professional. He helped us go through paperwork with detailed explanation for each document that we signed.
We received our baby's ash after a week. The funeral home took care everything from working with the hospital to get the baby's remains to cremation service.
Megan's, Paul's attention to detail and thoughtful, respectful approach deeply touched our hearts. Their professionalism and genuine compassion are truly commendable.
We would like to thank Megan, Paul, and entire team for making a difficult journey a little bit more manageable with your caring hearts and exceptional service.

I want to thank Alameda Family Mortuary, and specifically Michael Rubino, for the care my family received most recently upon the passing of my sister. For the past 50 years, the Alameda Family has been the only funeral home we have ever used. Their long service in the South Bay has always focused on care for the family. I am very appreciative for the many years I have personally known their business and I recommend them highly.

Really impressed with the care and compassion Alameda Family shows in all it does for grieving families dealing with the loss of a loved one. We lost our mother during Covid and then our father a couple of years later. Alameda couldn't have been more sensitive and adaptable to the circumstances and helped us each step of the way. They show a true sense of service and understanding of the families they serve. Thank you!

We had a wonderful experience with Alameda Family Funeral. We had just experienced the stillbirth of our daughter and had to wrestle with our grief over her passing while planning a funeral. Alameda Family Funeral showed exceptional kindness and were very accommodating, helping the burial planning process to be a smooth one for us. Thanks to them, we were able to give our daughter a dignified and proper burial. We highly recommend Alameda Family Funeral.

When our 3 month old passed away recently, we did not know where to begin and dreaded the upcoming conversations with various funeral homes in the area. We knew it was a business, but we hoped individuals would be compassionate and understanding during these conversations.

After having very business-like meetings with popular funeral homes and still feeling unsettled, we came across Alameda Family Funeral & Cremation on Yelp. We read nothing but positive reviews about this family owned business, especially with newborn arrangements.

When we first spoke on the phone, Valerie put us at ease and was very genuine in her condolences. She walked us through the services they offered and invited us to tour the facilities. Once we arrived, Paul welcomed us with care and compassion as he gave us a tour of the beautiful, spacious chapel as well as the state-of-the-art on-site crematory. After the initial visit and hearing the extremely generous services they offer for newborns (to give back to the community, their services are basically free + cost of materials), we knew this was the place.

Here are some highlights of our 2 day service (viewing, funeral mass, and cremation):

- Chapel has a beautiful mural and can accommodate a large amount of people (100+)
- Projector and sound system worked perfectly with HDMI and auxiliary hookups
- There is a separate room next to the chapel available for setting up snacks and refreshments
- Transportation for the casket and flowers to and from the church was seamless and stress-free
- The ON-SITE crematory is beautifully designed and accommodated most of our family
- The cremated remains were available for us the next day

Mike walked us through the whole funeral day and communicated with us before anything happened. Words cannot express how grateful we were for the Alameda staff. Valerie, Paul, and Mike were truly amazing throughout the whole experience. We sincerely thank you.

To anyone looking for funeral or cremation services, we highly recommend Alameda Family Funeral & Cremation! Your mind and heart will feel at peace.

Highly recommend this place Alameda Family funeral & cremation. Staffs are very professional, friendly, and great help. Price was reasonable compare to other services that charge double. Place is extraordinary pleasing with warmth atmosphere and class decoration. It’s a big place and has plenty of spaces for parking. It also has its own crematorium within the building, which is marvelous thought and beautiful designed. Very convenience! Also it provides funeral service per booking schedule, not a multi funeral services in one place. Ever get lost at the funeral place and would walk into someone else funeral? Not at this one!
My mom passed away sudden from her health in hospital. So I did lot of planning and running around to find funeral service for her. Finally came across AFFC and booked this place right away.
Thank you all the staffs and director at AFFC with special thanks to Valerie and Michael for extending extra care. The funeral service day was pleasant and extremely cares for and was best provided. Every one of my immediate family and guesses were amazed at this place and the staffs.
Sincerely,
Justin T.

My mother passed away on March of 2014. Alameda Family Funeral Home, with supervision of Ron, helped us to transfer my Mother to Tehran, Iran in a matter of eight/nine days. I was very pleased with the quality and sympathetic care provided by them.

I attended a funeral at this establishment. Plenty of parking in the back and they even have a Tesla charger.

I take off a star because the staff were talking loudly outside during the service. It's everyone's last good bye moment and I think the talking outside was disrespectful.

Other than that, it went smoothly.

Recently I used the services of Alameda family funeral & cremation. I flew in from
Out of town and they were the first folks I spoke to for services for my mom. The staff was great Valerie, and Mike were very helpful at first. So we were using my mom’s life insurance to pay for the services and this is when the issues started. Now I have no experience on how this process worked and relied on the experts of the funeral home. We chose cremation service and was under the impression we would use the money from the insurance for the service. The 1st red flag-- was when I mentioned this to them and they added an extra $150 charge because they said they were going to take longer to get paid. I was ok with that. The day of the funeral service I paid cash for the $895 to use the chapel, and Michael was a great host. The 2nd red flag-- was as I was outside with my family taking pictures, the Owner/Director (Zoe) sent her staff down to demand payment for the cremation service, which had not happened yet due to waiting for the insurance check, and if I didn’t get on the insurance company, she was going to charge me $695 every 2 days to store my mom there. (Are you serious during the funeral service) you call me in for money? The next day I get on the phone with the insurance company, and do what the funeral home is supposed to be experts at doing, and get on with the insurance agent. 3rd red flag-- Once on the call the agent said the funeral home is supposed to send in an invoice form with the charges and fees. They argued back and forth and finally the insurance company said to call other funeral homes around and they can share the form. They found the form and create the form, but Zoe tacks on a $695 fee, and finally gets the letter typed out. The insurance company says they would send them the check in a few days, and Zoe would not cremate my mom even though she had the guarantee letter confirming they sent the check out. I had to leave back to GA, without with my mother as she was still in the funeral home. They finally received the check and still took a few days to cremate her and my dad had to go pick her up.
This Zoe owner/director is only out for the money, and stole my grief time for my mother doing their job trying to get the money and correct forms sent to the insurance. Also added much unneeded stress. Isn’t it the funeral homes specialty to go through this process, and make it easier on the folks grieving over a loss of a loved one? I felt no personal connection with this funeral home and had my dad setup with another company in the south bay.

This place has no compassion toward mourning family members; They look at you, and all they see is $ sign. So please do yourself a favor; during this challenging time, find a place where the owner and their staff have more compassion for what you are going through; you don't need extra stress looking at that cold, feeling less face of the owner (Zoe) and deal with her rude attitude. Even one star is too much for them.

Their focus was on the price and not on the overall experience. Would never come here again.
