Holiday Inn Express & Suites Carlsbad Beach, an IHG Hotel

I’m from Illinois and here on business. I’ve had a multiple day stay here, and will be doing so in the future. The main highlight of this hotel is its proximity to the beach. You can literally walk over and catch the sunset every night. The pool and hot tub are very refreshing. The rooms are clean and plenty of parking. Room quality will vary but they are probably close to a remodel. Lots of older and louder appliances but great TV choices

the front desk personnel have been very accommodating. i’m in hotels every night for work and this group is probably one of the best service teams that I’ve experienced on my trip. Especially Erik and Leah.

We have stayed here a few times and we have always been happy with the rooms, amenities and staff. The location is perfect and the front desk is always friendly. We will stay here again.

I am leaving this review because of the exceptional service I received. I had an issue inside my room, immediately upon entering after check-in, however both employees and the general manager handled the issue promptly and professionally. Charlie, the general manager, was not available in the evening when it occurred, however the front desk employee professionally resolved the issue for the evening. The following morning, Charlie and the lady at the front desk immediately resolved and rectified our previous night’s issue.

I believe her name was Alissa at the front desk. She was a rock star. She was so helpful in giving us directions and making us feel comfortable during our stay. I've stayed at a lot of holiday inns and I've never had service like this from any employee ever. She 100% deserves a raise. Our room was gorgeous, breakfast was amazing, the hot tub was truly relaxing. We would come back again in a heart beat. Thank you Alissa for your hardworking and for truly caring about your guests.

Great place to stay.

Some improvement can be made with breakfast service staff.

Love staying here but I did have an issue with my shower leaking all over the floor this morning and it looked like the lotion had water in it. It was very runny than other times I've used it.

The front desk staff is the best though!!!!!

We stayed here for our Legoland trip. The room was clean and well stocked. The fridge was the biggest we've seen in any of our rooms. It didn't have a separate compartment for the freezer but we needed the fridge more.
Our room didn't have a bathtub. We normally shower but it would have been nice to bathe after a long crazy day at Legoland. The rooms were stocked with refillable dove products attached to the wall. I definitely like more than little bars/bottles of soap.

Breakfast was awesome and well stocked all the way to the end of the breakfast window. We are late risers. So it's common for the food to be almost or mostly gone before we get there. They had two of our favorites: biscuits with gravy and fruit loops for all three mornings we were there. It would have been nice if they switched to potatoes at least one of the 3 mornings but not a deal breaker. It's way better than boring continental. They have the pancake makers, they are very cute and convenient. One of us had our very first pancake.

Great place. Gave extra great care of us because of mobility issues. Brought us extra blankets quickly when we called the front desk. Breakfast was good with pancake maker. Very pleased and would return there again.

First off, the hotel you see in the Google review is not the hotel. The staff were very friendly and were able to check us in early. The morning breakfast is great and worth the few bucks more. Cleans rooms and facilities.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel and the staff. Made our getaway 100 percent worth it. Thank you!

I'd like to commend the staff and management at this jewel of a Holiday Inn Express & Suites on their fine service and facility in Carlsbad, CA.

We held a family reunion here for our five families, including my wife and I, our four children and 8 of our 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild! We were there for five nights in five of their spacious suites from June 18 through 23, 2023.

It was the perfect location and venue for our group which gets together like this once a year during this week in June somewhere along the California Coast.

Although the facility has been there for some time the rooms/suites are spacious and well maintained by a dedicated staff. The breakfast area is especially welcoming to hungry guests starting another day of vacation in beautiful beach climate. The breakfast staff, including Hazel, are hard working and very accommodating, keeping the breakfast buffet fully stocked and fresh! And this eating area near the lobby was available to our families at other times for playing games for the children and even a Wine Tasting Event for our adults.

The pool area is beautifully surrounded by a grassy area suitable for playing games for the children and the pool and hot tub are surrounded by a relaxed and shaded patio environment with plenty of chairs, tables and lounges.

The sales staff, especially Brittany Padilla, ably assisted by AJ and Esa were exceptionally welcoming to us at time of check in and accommodating to our many requests, including a handy location to repair my wife's broken glasses which she accidently laid down on when we first arrived.

There is a handy and easily accessible beach (North Ponto Beach) within two miles up the coast with ample parking, a nice beach and a life Guard station.

We couldn't be more pleased with our entire stay there as a group and are seriously considering returning again next year for more of the same.

Jordan was working when I checked in late with no reservation. I received fast friendly service. I highly recommend!

Room was worn a bit. but clean the bed was comfortable and it was quiet even though it was next to all the roads we would definitely stay again great place to bring your kids or for work

My boyfriend, 1 year old boy and I decided to take a trip to get out of the Phoenix heat and decided on this hotel due to its very reasonable price, location and breakfast! Before getting here, i called with some questions and spoke to Eric at the front desk. Once we got here, he was here 3/5 five days. All of the staff has been so friendly and helpful but Eric went above and beyond to show us kindness and provide great customer service, advising us on good places to eat and places to go in the area! All of the other staff has been super wonderful too, we just got so used to seeing him and he never fell short of showing up to work with a smile it seemed. In addition to the super nice and welcoming staff, the breakfast was great! So many options, which was great for a 1 year old who’s hungry the moment he wakes up. The location of this is great too, there’s a few food places, a Starbucks and a Ralph’s right up the street and you can walk to the ocean right over the hill! Driving around was even nice and scenic with all of the beautiful homes. All in all, a great stay at a great place. Would certainly stay here again!

Not that expensive, considering the brand and bring in California. 5 minutes from Legoland, so it was very convenient.

Service is good. The hotel is very quiet.

Great value for families! Loved the solar panels as parking structures, however there were no compostable kitchenware and no recycling and composting options. It is inexpensive and easy to organize. Please step up your sustainability efforts!

Location is everything! Close to beaches. Close to amenities! Simple to check in and a clean room.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks. The service was excellent they have many staff members and housekeepers who are all friendly and happy to help whenever needed. The receptionists were extremely kind and friendly and the owner was at the hotel daily and available when needed. He was friendly, super nice, and gave me amazing accommodations and discounts for my stay. As a loyal customer, the owner gave me the weekday rate for a holiday weekend!! This was more than a 50% discount! My rates were price matched to the lowest rates of 3rd party booking sites and was provided complementary parking! The friendly staff and complimentary discounts I received made me feel like a truly valued customer!

I had a great time during my stay in this hotel!!! All the staff is wonderful, helpful and friendly. Everyone is so welcoming, from front desk assistants, kitchen and housekeeping staff. There's always a smile and the willingness to make your stay comfortable and memorable. I'll definitely come back for another visit. They followed all the COVID-19 guidelines and had a great way to serve breakfast.

This hotel went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. When we needed fresh towels, they were brought up warm. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They have a do it yourself laundry room which we used a lot and was very convenient.

Upon asking, they lowered the room rate 20 a night. The beds and pillows are very comfortable and the rooms spacious. There wasn’t breakfast available, due to the pandemic but they woukd always have some kind of danish, yogurt, milk available. I highly recommend this hotel for long or short term.
