West Inn & Suites

Great stay! We were planning our trip to Legoland and we were looking for a place to stay after and found this gem of a hotel! Staff was friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Hotel was very nice overall. It is right by the freeway and next to a gas station which is very convenient. Plus my son loved the milk & cookies. We will definitely be back!

Fifteen minute walk to the beach! Great service, cute and clean rooms. Yummy buffet breakfast spread. Cookies and milk at 8pm?! Officially where I am staying in Carlsbad from now on. Rooms have a small fridge and coffee maker. Besides the train passing, the location is very quiet. Five minute drive from everything. There's also a restaurant next door that delivers, and you can rent bicycles at the back side of the hotel. Gym on the lower level and it said there's a pool, but we went to the beach.

Will definitely come back. Rooms are spacious, breakfast was the best hotel breakfast. Staff was very friendly and the location was perfect. Close to freeway but once inside the noise from the freeway was minimal, if any at all.

We stayed at West Inn & Suites two times in December, a three night and a four night stay. Fantastic little gem in Carlsbad, CA. The staff were very professional and courteous, the rooms (we had a premier king suite 445 sf) were very large, clean and well kept. The rugs and couch could use some updating but overall very happy.

Our only complaint was the very heavy perfume smell in the lobby. I believe it was for the holidays (I hope) so hopefully that won't be an issue going forward.

Highly recommend this hotel.

Staff were extremely nice. Rooms were tidy and very clean. The location was great. We went to Legoland and it was very close. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is absolutely perfect!
Visiting for a month as part of a business trip, our group of French people was extremely well received. The hotel team was very accommodating and available both for the preparations for the trip, before our arrival, and for the stay itself. The services were of very good quality, particularly for the receptions for which everything was planned by the team. Excellent!
The services are exceptional: varied and copious breakfast, spacious and very comfortable rooms, swimming pool, and constant little touches such as Cookie Hour!
Finally, what can we say about the location which is perfect for enjoying the environment, the ocean, Carlsbad and Oceanside.
A wonderful cradle to discover this jewel that is California!

We’ve stayed at the West Inn two times now, both times were wonderful!
It’s small, clean, and friendly staff! The price was great and included the hot breakfast bar, which was delicious! The warm cookie and milk from 8-9 was a fun treat to look forward to daily. So thankful we found this little gem in Carlsbad!

I really enjoyed my stay. I knocked off one star for the room because it was a little small. Otherwise, very clean and had all amenities. Location was great. Close to beach, outlet mall, and easy access to freeway. I LOVE the sound of the train going by, but, if you don't, keep your windows closed.

We stayed here five years ago and again a few days ago. It has gotten noticeably more worn out since then, but it is still a great place. We love this hotel, but it needs a little bit of work to replace some of the furniture and hardware.

Excellent stay, rooms are spacious, breakfast was good, cookies and milk at night was a nice touch. The shower didn't have a tub, just a shower, that made it difficult to bathe infant/toddlers. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, you could check out beach chairs and towels and that was very convenient. Location was great, 5 min drive to a lovely spot on the beach!

cons: thermostat is old style and placed low enough for kids to reach and change the desired temp to 85 degrees lol.
bathroom doesn't have a vent so the smell you create stays.
the outdoor pool isn't heated so hard to use when weather is chilly, but they do have a hot tub with towels.
everything else was fantastic from the staff to the lobby hangout spots including upstairs, nice lobby area.
fitness center has a good variety of equipment. breakfast and the eating area were very nice and unique. the rooms were clean, i had the 2 kings, never recall having 2 kings before so this was awesome. the location was 5 minutes from Legoland. to top it off, the price was very reasonable for 3 nights at just over 500.
definitely will stay here for future SD visits.

My room was comfortable and got very dark when the curtains were pulled! I thought the bed was amazing and did not want to get up in the mornings.
I took advantage of late check out on test day, which made the morning stress free. The staff was amazing and I looked forward to cookie hour daily.

Best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had! Very good selection of hot breakfast food: eggs, sausage, ham, potatoes, homemade biscuits & gravy. Rooms were large & clean. Lots of parking available. I wish I could have stayed longer. Walking distance to beach. 👍👍

This boutique Inn is lovely- if you are in the area you should check it out! I was very impressed with the room and facility cleanliness, beds comfort and overall value! To list a few: parking, WiFi, a good selection for breakfast (free!!!) it is served in a lovely area and you can eat at clean tables in a beautiful living room setting. Bertha and Maria always made sure nothing is missing - hardworking ladies with a smile!
It was refreshing to see a 4 star hotel management at work! Because I saw this service in 4 star hotels.
Shydell and Malou at the front desk were very helpful with info and our check in and check out process was fast and easy. Oh and every night we had complimentary cookies and milk 🙂
Cleaning crew - taking care of business everyday and any request was promptly answered.
BTW - cudos to their buyers - their buy quality stuff/supplies (beds, bedding, towels) I would like to know their source lol! Keep up the great work!

Excellent hotel. Well managed and clean. The location is off the busy roads so it is peaceful and has everything a person needs for a great vacation. It is luxury at a great value.

I love this place and will definitely come back. The rooms are exceptionally spotless on the bed, the sheets, and the pillows are super comfy.

The rooms have a slightly dated feel to them but because the place is so clean and fresh it did not bother me.

The free cookies in the evening are just a special extra treat that are really enjoyed.

The breakfast is pretty much typical to any other mid-level chain hotel. Definitely nothing special.

Stayed here for 3 nights to go to legoland. The location was great, only 5 minutes away. The staff was very friendly, the room was spacious and clean, and the included breakfast was great. Overall a great stay. Thank you!

Location is prime if you are going to Legoland or hitting the Carlsbad outlets. Very cozy hotel in the winter and around Merry Christmas. Would love to stay again

Literally, I have never wrote a review with a full 5 stars, so I advice you read this. Its the best hotel I have been too, not one of the best but THE best. They give you fresh warm cookies around 8pm every night w a company of cold refreshing organic milk. It is so close to the beach and other areas it amazes me. It’s perfect, I go here every year with my family and I am also going tomorrow 🥰 cant wait. On top of all that if you go to the front desk and ask for beach supplies they’ll literally supply you surfboards, goggles, towels, chairs, etc. I am not the biggest fan of their breakfast but its still definitely good I am just not a breakfast person overall. Bagels are nice you can also toast them, but the thing I love the most is the service. Ugh such amazing and heartfelt people 🥹 it brings me joy it really does, always a smile on their face and so welcoming, super patient and much more. Hopefully tomorrow they wont change my mind 🥰 cya soon. I advice you go here, you wont regret it! 10/10 great for the price.
