Best Western Carlsbad By The Sea

Pretty much only slept there but everything was to my satisfaction. Rooms very clean, requests were handled speedily and the kids especially like the suite design. Decent options for breakfast. Breakfast time can get really crowded. Our room had a decent sized fridge, microwave, stove top, coffee maker. If you're going to make your own hot meals, bring utensils and dishes. Great distance to Legoland, beach, eateries and etc. Would book again.

Rooms were inexpensive and clean. They had a decent continental breakfast and the staff were helpful and friendly. My only complaints are that the AC rattled really loudly when running and the water pressure in the shower was super high and sprayed water everywhere. But this was a great budget option and I would stay here again!

Amarie WAS EXCEPTIONAL!! She exceeded all expectations while helping me pick out the very best room for our visit in carlsbad for new year's eve. We absolutely loved the breakfast. Also how clean the dining area was. And how much room there was for all the guests. Amarie It's exactly what you're looking for when it comes to customer service. Thank you so very much for making this trip an absolute success. We will be coming back.

David is so nice and professional as well as the rest of the front desk staff, Katie, Amaris and Sergio. Michael is nice and friendly and keeps everything in working order. The housekeeping staff is great! The rooms and property are very clean and well maintained.

The staff on the front desk where super professional. The bed the room the shower and tub all good quality. Complimentary breakfast was edible.

Great location close to the beach and many things to do. The hot tub was fantastic and so was the complimentary breakfast every day. The staff was friendly and helpful too.

I love!!! I was raised in San Diego and moved to Palm Springs, came to SeaWorld with my kids and It took me hours to find a good hotel. I ended up getting the suit with a kitchen with 2 bedrooms! It’s amazing with affordable prices. Clean rooms beds are so comfortable, breakfast with coffee in the morning! The Night Shift front desk was so friendly and felt welcomed as soon as I walked in to check in! I will def be staying here again! No I didn’t see any roaches people be lying on these reviews!!

Just checked in today for a soccer tournament with whole team and family. Perfect spot close to beach, restaurants and grocery store - all in walking distance. Rooms are great and clean with nice pool and surrounding area. Service has been spot on. David, in particular was amazing and accommodating. A great first experience. Friendly and helpful staff always makes the difference. Thanks David!

Comfortable room with nice amenities. If you are placed in a room near the freeway the traffic can be noisy.

Nice hotel freeway is loud if you stay on that side. Breakfast is good. The pool is nice.

Very close to legoland. Nice to have a small kitchen for family. Enjoyed the breakfast. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. I had misbooked one night instead of two. While at legoland the staff called me to see what was going on and reassured me that they'd have the room for me for the second night and gave me a better rate than I had booked in expedia

Rooms are spectacular! Really impressed with size and amenities. Location is so-so, no stores in walking distance. Too many cops around with nothing to do- my friend got a citation for public intoxication and she wasn't even drinking.

Katie, Dj, and Sergio at the front desk are extremely competent and always do their best to accommodate any needs that my wife and I had. The breakfast is consistent, there’s always coffee and hot water for teas during the day, and the maintenance/cleaning staff are on point. The GM Hector has been nothing short of kind to us and the rooms are very clean, spacious, and recently renovated. The entire complex is continually being worked on and refurbished and that makes the Stay much more comfortable then any other hotel we’ve visited in the area. 10/10 recommended if you’re looking for a comfortable and clean place to take your family to!

Clean, friendly and comfortable. Sometimes there's a few things that need to be addressed by maintenance yet they are quick to address them.

We stay here 3 days . The front desk night time guy who checked us in was so helpful and friendly. Our room was nice and clean. Breakfast was okay they served the same thing everyday. But it's included with ur stay so why not. All and all we would stay again. The pool and hot tub was nice too.

Staff members are super nice and helpful when inquiring about anything. Definitely would bring the family here.

This is an excellent facility. We stayed here for five days in one of their suites. We have four children ranging from 3-11 years old. They stayed in two doubles in a separate room off the living room with their own bathroom. My husband and I had a king with our own full bathroom on the other side of the living room. The living room was basic; the couch was made with vinyl (easy to wipe off), but I doubt it would be comfortable enough to sleep on. There is a high counter with two stools. Most of the time we ate on the couch with a couple people on the stools. There are TVs in the bedrooms as well as the living room. We were always able to park right outside our room.

The only thing that was slightly annoying was the lack of lighting in the master bedroom. The only lights are the sconces next to the beds. There is no overhead lighting outside of the bathroom in the closet. I don't know if that's something the facility would be able to adjust, but that is the only negative thing I can report on this facility.

Their continental breakfast was simple but more than basic and the service hours are friendly for people who want to sleep in a bit. The food was good and the space is very well kept. Our kids were able to fill themselves with fresh fruit, omelettes, sausage, potatoes, French toast, cold cereal, bagels, juice, toast, yogurt, boiled eggs, and whole or skim milk. We were usually the only ones in the dining area. Most people grabbed their breakfasts and headed back to their rooms.

The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful with everything that we needed help with. A couple of hours after we checked in the front desk called our room to make sure we were satisfied. Our beds were made and we had fresh towels daily. They have excellent staff.

We used their hot tub in the evenings with our kids and they had plenty of towels on the deck. We also used both of the laundry facilities. They have one washer/dryer set in each laundry room. It costs $1.75 for a wash and $1.75 for a dry cycle. The facilities were kept exceptionally clean and tidy.

For guests who are looking for a suite, keep in mind they don't have ovens (which makes sense since they're awful to clean). There are two electric burners, microwave, coffee maker, full fridge, and a dishwasher. They have plenty of storage in the full kitchens and they offered to lend us pots and pans during our stay. Next time we stay we'll come better prepared with food that can be cooked on the stove top or microwave.

We were very pleased with the location. It's easy to access the freeway and there is a grocery store down the street (Ralphs), Costco within one exit away, and In N' Out close by as well. We visited Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, and Legoland while we were in town. We are definitely planning on patronizing this facility again.
