Beach Terrace

Fantastic beachfront hotel! Really nice beach great for boogie boarding. The beach valet attendant will set up chairs and umbrellas for your group and provide boogie boards. Nice pool area, but not used too often in the summer when the beach is right there! The hotel itself does not have a restaurant or bar, but is a short walk to shops and restaurants. Huge room with a big balcony and great ocean view! Highly recommend!!!

Loved this place! All I can say- the owners really try to add uniqueness and comfort to your stay, so many cute little features like a choice of your coffee maker (and great coffee!) high quality toiletries, yoga mat, dumbbells, beach bag in the room, cozy ponchos for cool nights by the fire pit on the beach, delicious breakfast... the location just cannot be better, you're on a beach super close to waves. The staff and owners were friendly and attentive and went above and beyond to accommodate all our requests. We're extremely happy with our stay and can recommend this property to anyone who enjoys true ocean front and hospitality!

So we were welcomed by the lovely and very helpful Michelle, and that set the tone for our week. All staff are charming and helpful, all made an effort to engage.
The included breakfast was excellent, good choice every day & nice grub.
We booked ocean view and wow, surpassed expectations, really pleased paid a few $’s more it was brilliant.
The rooms are spacious, light and well appointed. Nice that can sit on balcony and watch waves, pelicans and just relax and be.
If you want a nice, well run hotel that is good value, stay here.
Would recommend and stay here again. Thank you all for a great time.

Wow! This was a splurge for the last 3 days of our vacation to just relax on the beach. It was perfect. The room was so big bright, clean and comfortable. On top of that there was a huge balcony with amazing views of the ocean and pool. Our family of 4 could really spread out - plenty of drawers to put things away and even 3 sinks. The pool was small but the water was warm. We sat out by the firepits and watched the ocean after the sun set. There was always someone to help us find a spot to set up chairs on the beach and we played in the ocean with the complimentary beach toys. The breakfast each day was nice and enough for me (but not teenaged kids). The town is also nice and very walkable. Trying hard to think of something negative to say but honestly I can't think of anything. I can't wait to go back.

My wife and I are in our 50's. We travel a lot. We both grew up at the So-Cal beaches and now live 2 hours inland. One of our favorite things to do to get away, is stay near the beach a few times per year to enjoy the perfect moist weather, the relaxing sound of waves, and a little bit of night life in terms of restaurants and shops.

We found Beach Terrace on the internet and decided to give it a try. We travel a lot and I admit that I am picky since I have been in the service business for over 35 years. I can tell the difference between a place where the management see customers as dollar signs or people with expectations. I am the latter.

Let me tell you! This place is awesome! They have thought of every detail. Clean, large, comfortable rooms with THE BEST views anywhere if you want to hear and stare at the ocean.

Beach service with chairs and umbrellas brought to you. A pool deck area with lounge chairs, 4 fire pits, 85 degree water, showers and again THE VIEW! Bicycles, Board games available, Boogie Boards etc.

We ordered pillows off the pillow menu and they were awesome. Fast professional service.

Walking distance to many many great restaurants and shops.

My wife and I are hooked. Park your car for a few days and really enjoy a clean place in a clean beautiful small beach town. We'll be back for sure!

I have had an amazing stay there 2 times and loved all of their service and breakfasts. The view is absolutely stunning. I would definitely recommend.

Best hotel in Carlsbad - bar none. You will not regret your time spent here. All of the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are recently remodeled and clean, and the views are to DIE for.

Our favorite hotel in Carlsbad. Right on the beach, my family loves this place and we try to visit a couple times every year. Never get tired of Beach Terrace and counting down to our next visit.

We come here often. We get a room that is a few feet from the ocean. We sit on the balcony for hours and watch the sun set on the ocean.

I love how private and quiet it is. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is spacious, clean, modern, and comfortable.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Nicely appointed room with a pillow menu. Good floor space and generous bathroom. Good seating. Exceptional view. They light the fire pits in the morning and evening. Waves all day. Only caution, we were overlooking the pool and I could see it being a little noisy if busier. No restaurant or bar but breakfast delivery is available.
Would have liked to stay another couple of days.

Holy Cow this place was perfect! I had never been to this area, decided to stay in Carlsbad upon friend's recommendations, while in Cali for son's boot camp graduation. I searched for places to stay and took a chance on Beach Terrace, though there was only one review on Vrbo. The beach was right there, the service was excellent, the room was amazing, I parked a few steps from the entrance all four nights...loved it. I will be back!

In one word STUNNING! This hotel is so well thought out. The rooms are spacious and welcoming. The staff was phenomenal especially with our kids. We stayed in a double queen courtyard view room, but got a fun surprise to see the ocean from our balcony. They had a cute tent for our girls setup when we arrived and plenty of snacks. The amenities include more than the typical hotel. You have beach access with chairs, beach toys, towels and more. There are games in the lobby and morning and afternoon snacks! There are even bikes if you want to take a ride. Short walk downtown to all the fun things and yummy restaurants. Close to LegoLand and SeaWorld if you are with kids. We are definitely coming back to this magical place! We stay in a lot of hotels but this one takes the cake. Thank you!

The entire facility was top notch! The room, the view, the breakfast - all amazing! But what took it over the top was the service and staff! We went for my mother's birthday and they left the sweetest hand written card for her in our room which made her feel very special!

This was hands down one of the best places we have ever stayed. We spent 2 nights here for a birthday gateway for my wife. It was above and beyond what we could have expected. Prior to check in, I called a few times leading up to our trip... Every single staff member I spoke with was SO kind and informative. Once we arrived, it was paradise!! The staff was so incredibly nice and made us feel valued as guests at their place. The view, the room, the pool, everything was so well thought out. They truly care about their guests and it shows in every aspect of what they do. The beach chairs/umbrellas and beach toys were a big hit for our kids. The pool and fire pit were awesome, loved the blankets they brought out at night. Absolutely amazing all around!! They even offered gluten-free options for their breakfast, which made our family with allergies feel so included. I can not say enough good things about this place. This is our new spot, we will not stay anywhere else when we visit this area. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!! Truly thankful to all the staff who made this Birthday Getaway so outstanding for my wife & family.

Although we only stayed one night; our stay was very comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed the warm pool and ease of access to the beach. The balcony views are lovely. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We will return very soon! Thank you

We just got back home from our second stay with this location. I cannot express how amazing the staff, the newly remodeled rooms, the service, the hospitality and the location on the beach is. They truly make you feel like you are part of their family! Also knowing this is a family owned business makes you feel good. Also super comfy beds and pillows, I have paid way more for nothing near as good in all aspects. There is not one thing I can say bad about coming here, it is the best spot in Carlsbad bar none. As someone who vacations in Carlsbad every year trust me this is the place you want to be!! Thanks for another amazing experience guys!

Wonderful place to stay. We were in room 20, it was amazing. My husband forgot to pack a very expensive shirt and didn’t know he left it and we got a box in the mail from the hotel with the shirt inside. They went above and beyond. This is the 4 th time we have stayed at this hotel. It is worth the money.

The room was immaculate and the view is spectacular. I kept the sliding door open all night to listen to the waves. Front office staff provided a welcoming experience. Kareem made me feel valued as a returning guest.
Only thing I was disappointed in was to discover that the jacuzzi on the pool deck has been filled in since the last time I visited. There’s now a fire pit in its place. On a positive note, it is a beautiful fire pit.
