Staybridge Suites Carlsbad - San Diego, an IHG Hotel

Overall, everything exceeded our expectations at this hotel. From the moment we walked in the doors they were so kind and inviting. Giving us water upon our arrival when getting our keys to our room. Even with a little bit of a mix-up with Priceline which was not their fault at all. We arrived at our room and they had accommodated us with a pull out bed and a king bed so that our family could sleep comfortably. The next morning we ate breakfast at their full breakfast buffet that they provide for free. Even with an allergy to eggs the staff looked up ingredients just to be sure the waffles for example did not have eggs in the ingredients. Everyone was so friendly. The facility was very clean. Parking is free which is a plus, in California it is very rare to find.

I had such a wonderful stay at this hotel that I didn't want to leave. If time, money and opportunity would give me an endless stay until I wanted to go home, I would stay here. The staff was very nice and professional. I called ahead before checkin time and our room was ready by the time we arrived. Upon checkin, we were greeted pleasantly and given free bottles of water along with our cards for our room. We were on a floor that was newly renovated, but the rest of the hotel was still neat and very clean. The outdoor area with pool, basketball goal and a small green space is a courtyard that is not seen from the parking lot so it gives you a real safe feeling. The hot breakfast was really good and the service and dining areas were kept clean throughout our stay and dining. The hotel adheres to quiet hours, so it was very quiet while we slept. This is a great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of San Diego, the beaches and other tourist areas. It's a keeper!

So I checked in at around 5:30 p.m. and had just been crying and crying in my car at the age of 63 with a hurt back. I was able to book a room here and it is worth every last penny that I had. I had the two most amazing people check me in and were very very patient with me when I probably weren't making that much sense because of all my crying.
This room is absolutely spectacular and if I could give you 10 Stars I would and I would definitely give 10 stars to Sheriden and Deya, and I forgot to mention Brittany and a gentleman with glasses I forgot to get his name because I was so exhausted
I went to travel school but I never worked in the field but I know what customer service is all about because that's all I did before I retired on Social Security. It's so wonderful to be treated as wonderful as these two young ladies treated me. I did not feel like I was thrown to the Wayside because I was older. They made me feel so comfortable and so welcoming and the best customer service that I have ever had at a hotel. I called another hotel around the corner and unfortunately the lady did not provide any good customer service and just was very impatient that's why I chose to come here because when I made the phone call before I booked the room they were amazing to me on the phone. Thank you so much that Christmas Eve I will actually be in a room thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this weekend so special.
I can't wait to get my free breakfast tomorrow and know that I can come back and be safe and in a very very clean Hotel suite. Sorry for the long story here but if you known what I've gone through for the past few weeks you would understand. I already feel at peace because of these two lovely ladies

Usually, when looking at photos of the property, the photos tend to exaggerate the place. In my case, the place was above my expectations. We stayed in the one bedroom suite. The only 2 complaints I have are one. The coffee maker was filthy. Understandable oversight. #2. The breakfast really wasn't all that tasty, I know it's free and all, but some improvements can be made. Eggs tasted powdered, coffee tasted old, potatoes were just nasty. My 5 stars aren't based on these 2 complaints. My rating is for the friendly staff, beautiful hotel, location, and quietness of the room, I couldn't hear anyone above or on either side of our room. I'll most definitely be back, not for the breakfast or in room coffee but for the fore mentioned compliments.

What a great family hotel! Our family of 6 adults and 1 baby booked a two night stay at this hotel. Our room was 2 bedrooms with 3 beds plus a pullout sofa. Kitchen had a fridge and microwave. It was spacious and clean. The hotel also serves a wonderful breakfast buffet with hot and cold foods. Their spread was impressive. Front desk was friendly and efficient. Ample free parking. The location was just okay, in more of a business/industrial area. However, there are still lots of places to eat within a 5-15 minute drive. I'm happy with the value of this hotel as it has great amenities and services.

Well first off, these rooms are perfect for a family with kids. The rooms have a kitchenette and we can bring snacks and other food to prep here, the fridge is huge not the tiny one... and they even provide the basic utensils and bowls and cups. My kids loved the pool. The staff was amazing, super helpful. Check In and check out was easy and quick. The breakfast offered was delicious and hearty, there was a little something for everyone, even for my picky eater. The kitchen staff was so kind and attentive. Gracias❤ make sure you leave them a tip they have a tip jar, because they keep everything stocked and clean. Overall great experience can't wait to come back for a longer stay. Btw pool closes at 10.

They took such great care of us. We were able to really relax as a family. We really enjoyed the courtyard with pool, giant Jenga & connect 4 and the basketball court- and it was all visible from our room's window. Breakfast had something for everyone. Will definitely stay here again

Staybridge Suites Carlsbad saved our vacation. After arriving at a horrific, not as advertised, Airbnb in San Diego we were desperate to find a safe, clean place to spend our family (of 4) vacation with two primary aged children. Staybridge Suites had an available two queen bed suite with a separate kitchen/living area so we could put the kids to bed and have adult down time without disturbing them. We arrived 45 minutes after booking to amazing customer service and a fantastic location. Walkable to a plaza with grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants (dine in and take out). Additionally it is a 30 min drive to San Diego Zoo Safari, 10 min to Lego land, and a very easy 40 min from San Diego Airport.
The cost- same as our Airbnb refund!!
The room itself was clean. Not to the impossible standards of my Italian grandmother but certainly very good. My ONLY complaint is a stain on the curtain, small bits of mold in the grout of the shower (requiring a mold killer, a stiff bristle brush, and then a mold killer re-application with 24 hours of dry time). Both of these things are not the fault of house keeping- just things that happen over time and require a more significant deep cleaning from maintenance. We asked to have the grout taken care of. I think the message was misunderstood because they did send house keeping THAT DAY (!!) back to clean our room again- and the grout was untouched. We’ll follow up when we leave so that the next guest doesn’t have it too. Everything else was SPOTLESS.
Housekeeping staff loved our kids, the service desk staff were friendly and helpful, and food service staff were very accommodating.
The social hour and breakfast were perfect for our kids who thought these services were “amaaaazing”.
In all this stay was 95% perfect. I cannot believe how lucky we got. Staybridge saved our vacation, and helped us to make lasting happy vacation memories for our family. THANK YOU STAYBRIDGE!!!

Rooms were clean and recently updated - very cute and comfy

This hotel was perfect for our stay while visiting Legoland. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable and the pool/hot tub were thoroughly enjoyed by adults and kids. The breakfast had a great variety of options in a very relaxed setting. Best of all, the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again next time we are in this area. It was a wonderful weekend!

I cannot express the positive experience I had here enough. I stay at hotels OFTEN due to my industry in delivery and lifestyle as a van-lifer, and five stars is not nearly enough for this place. I was welcomed by the most unpretentious and friendly staff, the room was spectacular with a full kitchen (sans oven, but including dishwasher and dishes and toaster!) which pleased my partner who is a chef by trade and passion, and the guest services I experienced were better by FAR than anything I've experienced at a Hilton, Marriott, Holiday Inn, Extended Stay America, or any of the other long list of hotels and motels I've stayed in the past few years. The location is top notch, walking distance to Bressi Ranch Marketplace with restaurants, bars, grocery stores, BevMo, coffee shop options, and a gas station. I reserved the room for one night, but called the front desk two mornings in a row after that to extend another night for three total. There is even a laundry room with complimentary washers and dryers. Yes, not coin laundry, but free. The pool and courtyard shares with Holiday Inn and is amazing, but 5000 times better than Holiday Inn which used to be my favorite, but Holiday Inn keeps my deposit for 30 days after checkout and Staybridge released it immediately - I checked out yesterday and it's already in my account! They even allowed me to check out later than any other hotel I've stayed and housekeeping wasn't banging on the door for me to get out - I didn't feel rushed at all. I'm a frugal traveler and tend to frequent Motel 6 having animals, but this is worth every penny since we don't have to eat out when we stay. Complimentary breakfast every morning, a midweek social serving a light dinner/snack with beer/wine 3 nights a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and a full kitchen saved us so much money while there. At one point, my partner found an issue with the washer/dryer and called on a manager (he thinks was named Adrien) who was so kind and attentive to the situation, found us a solution immediately, and even the maintenance man who helped was eager to fix the problem like it was a fun challenge. The kitchen staff was even wonderful - my chef partner and I enjoyed watching the way they interacted with each other and one tall individual with a thick accent kept singing with an incredible voice. The staff were obviously happy and enjoyed their jobs and their coworkers. I read a plaquard while waiting for the front desk person to return from a break one day that was a tribute to a man named Bob who began the "family" atmosphere as a hotel owner long ago and his memory lives on in the staff today. I saw this concept firsthand and am so grateful to Bob for understanding what true service is meant to be. Cheers, Bob!

We stayed at several hotels on our vacation up the California coast. This is the only property that met our expectations. The room was well appointed and looked refreshed, was clean, comfortable, and most importantly, the A/C actually blows cold! Service was excellent as well. The only complaint I have is that, as other reviewers have mentioned, the walls are very thin. I will definitely stay here again in the future. Plenty of restaurants and shops within a two minute drive as well.

The place is well built with an inner courtyard that houses a pool, hot-tub and a barbecue station. As I was there in winter I didn't really get to check those out but they look quite nice.

The rooms (King Room) are quite spacious with a good living area that extends to an equipped kitchen area with a fridge microwave-toaster, coffee machine, dishwasher and a stove.

The entrance to the bathroom area is located next to the bed and it's also quite spacious with a good separation between the bathroom and shower and the sink. Water pressure in the shower was quite good (I'll give it a 4/5) and the water are nice and warm. The only thing I dislike about the showers is that the water cannot be turned off while keeping the temp setting, but that's really a minor thing.

Breakfast is quite good with a good variety of eggs, bread, fruit, muffins, coffee, cereal, drinks and the waffle machines. Other than breakfast dinners are a nice touch were you can eat and meat some nice people who are staying with you in the hotel.

Never used the gym but it looks well equipped, clean and tidy. The guest washing room is a great free perk if you plan on a longer visit.

Absolutely lovely. My husband and I stayed while in town celebrating our 5 year anniversary. Employees were extremely nice. We stayed in a suite with all the amenities. Breakfast was good, lots of choices. Pool and jacuzzi were clean. Not a lot of noise, very quiet. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. Thank you Staybridge.

Room was more than adequate. Clean, spacious, good amenities. Other facilities at the hotel were nice as well. The girl at check in, Alexa I believe, was incredibly helpful and really brightened our moods after an exhausting drive. She was a delight. We will happily stay here again.

Very comfortable all around. Breakfast bar was a nice treat too. The pool was nice along with the Jacuzzi. Very crowded with kids though..

Stayed for daughter Spring break. Close enough to San Diego and the beach but not so close to have tons of congestion. Walking distance to TONS of places to eat and Stater Bros. If you want to stock the kitchenette with snacks.

We stayed here during our visit to California. The room was clean, but a little bit of a walk from the elevator. A good way to get more exercise in! The pool and hot tub were nice, and they had free breakfast and snacks during the late afternoon. We loved it!

Nice staff. Clean, well appointed rooms. Free breakfast for guests. Social hour on Monday through Wednesday with bar-type food. Relatively quiet, with the exception of small jets/planes flying by occasionally (close to Palomar Airport).

I stayed here with my husband and my daughter. Loved the king suite. Calm. Very clean. Breakfast was delicious. For dinner head out to the stratus restaurant across the way the food is fresh and made from scratch. Excellent!
