Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Carlsbad

I've stayed at this Residence Inn many times and it's outstanding. The front desk staff is always cheerful and helpful. The rooms are super clean and the property is beautiful. I am amazed that they can keep up this level of quality and service, time and time again. I highly recommend!

The rooms have great lighting, the customer service is great and Hannah at front desk is always friendly, helpful and goes out of her way to make sure the guests are well taken care of.

This feels like one of the newer generations of the Residence Inn. Well appointed design cues and a modern feel. The buffet breakfast is as expected for this brand which provides standard American breakfast and healthy fruit options. The pool is centrally situated. We came to visit Legoland and took advantage of the Carlsbad pilot transportation program that picks up from hotels to bring you to Legoland. All in all a great experience.

Stayed here while there was work being done on my apartment. Wow, this place is incredible and the perfect home away from home! Clean, comfortable, in a good location, staff is very friendly, the complimentary breakfast is amazing. I would definitely stay here again, Highly Recommend!

Stayed longer than expected, house being worked on.
Our stay was great from day 1. Angel at the front desk let us check in a bit earlier than we were originally told. Which made the move here quick and easy.
Hannah at the front desk has been amazing our whole stay here.
It’s been almost a month and a half at this point. Our house is being worked on due to a leak.

Today was my day off from both jobs, so I decided to sleep in a bit. I went to the breakfast area just before they were closing to get food for myself and my family. I was rushing and carrying more back to the room than I should have. I dropped a plate in the hallway. Ketchup everywhere, complete mess. I went to my room to put some soap on a rag and clean it up. When I get back to the mess, Hannah is there cleaning it up herself. I feel like most front desk clerks/managers would have sent someone from housekeeping or maintenance to take care of it. I respect the fact she was not only willing to help, but doing it herself!

Hannah didn’t just help clean up the mess, I got back to my room, and she had a brand new plate of food at my room when I got back there. That blew my mind. Above and beyond. I appreciate everything that the employees here have done for us, but special shout out to Hannah.

Coming from a background in hospitality, those small gestures means a lot. That’s what people remember. Thank you.

It was a very nice small hotel. The breakfast was especially plentiful and really good with a myriad of options. The rooms were very clean and very comfortable. The rooms and the hotel had great amenities. Nice beds, kitchen, TV, pool. There was a very small gym and basketball hoop but it is already a small hotel so you get what you expect/pay. The staff and other tenants were nice and careful. You'll need to drive a little bit for sightseeing and fun.

This was our 1st time at this Marriott and were pleasantly pleased! From the front desk check-in clerk to the check-out clerk, we couldn’t have asked for more personable and helpful staff!! They had smiles on their faces, interacted with us like we were long-lost friends and treated us kindly.

We stay in hotels quite often….usually Marriotts….and have been finding it harder and harder to find staff who even make eye contact with you much less seem happy to be working there.

We found happy employees and great personalities here! And, oh ya, the room was perfect too!

I had a very positive experience during our team's most recent stay (Surf Cup weekend, July 28-31). Brittany at the front desk is the epitome of excellent client service - professional, friendly and accommodating. She never once lost her cool even if the situation warranted it. The hotel has a lot of social places for many groups. We will be back.

This was my first time here. The employee Angel helped me check in and had great customer service. He made us feel welcome. Me and my family stayed for three days. We enjoyed the comfort of the rooms. Our favorite part was the heated pool and delicious options from the complimentary hot breakfast buffet they provide for all guests. I would definitely recommend this place to Everyone. I drove from San Diego. This was worth the drive. Thank you for such a great experience!

We stayed at this place while checking out Carlsbad for a possible move. It was conveniently located and the staff was extremely helpful. Hannah at the front desk was especially helpful and greeted us each morning with a smile. She made the trip enjoyable with her recommendations and helped out every time we needed something. I recommend staying here if you need a home base while visiting.

I had 4 rooms booked at this hotel for the Christmas break. Unfortunately all of our flights were canceled due to the southwest fiasco! I called the hotel and they graciously cancelled all 4 rooms with no penalty. The front desk staff was kind and understanding. This experience further validated why I continue to be a loyal Marriott member! Can’t wait to book here again. Thanks Marriott!

This hotel needs to be Top Rated. The staff are friendly and delightful.
Any issues guests have, I witnessed the staff resolve within moments.
My only regret is not staying here longer. When I come back to San Diego I am definitely staying here again.

My family and I had a wonderful experience here.
We were staying for a family wedding, and had a complicated schedule, not to mention some issues with our bank before we arrived. Brittany was patient with us while we got things worked out over the phone with the bank, and helped us get into our rooms quickly after a long day on the road.
Everything was clean, professional, and very, very friendly!
The breakfasts were fantastic, the room maintenance was there when we needed it, and I am so grateful.

So far so good! First night (Friday)and the staff was absolutely amazing at check in; Honestly, their customer service has been impeccable (front desk & housekeeping). The place is as clean as a hotel can be, the surrounding area is industrial office park-ish so super clean & new, seems like a family hotel (makes sense with each room having a full blown kitchen), the pool is very very clean. I'm super happy so far and I'm a tough customer to please during Covid-19.

Update: We're home (Monday night) and I had to advise that we had a really great trip and stay at this hotel. It was very family friendly, the staff was so nice, the pool is actually open full hours and there's a decent sack breakfast (cereal, choice of: bagel/muffin/croissant, fruit, granola bars, Nutella, peanut butter, jelly). Is it what we'd love to have? Nope. But if you're smart and bring some basics (eggs & turkey sausage is what we brought) you can make a pretty good breakfast come together.

I would recommend the hotel for families, not a singles kinda hotel. Beware: Very pet friendly hotel, large dogs and lizards hanging out on the community furniture. So if that icks you out? This isn't the place for you.

Amazing hotel for families on extended stays. The staff led by Hannah is incredible and accommodating. I would stay again in a heartbeat. I stayed for 47 days.

I am remiss for not presenting an excellent review for this RI in Carlsbad. I had the privelage of an extended stay for the month of August. I had such a great summer in this Marriott that I extended my stay for the first week of September. I left and returned for another five days later in Sept. I chose this RI amount a myriad of choices from Carlsbad and Oceanside based on great reviews, a wonderful central location, and being able to bring my little Maltipoo. The entire hotel was immaculatly clean and there were no doors in public spaces despite many people staying with their dogs. There is an enclosed, grassed in area dedicated to dogs in a safe environment day and night. I had nothing but great attention and service from all depts, Alan in the maintenancence unit helped me unload and load my car, graciously transporting my personal items. Housefkeeping serviced my room in a timely and perfect way. A hot breakfast, as well as a variety of coldl items ie:yogurt, fresh fruit and others. Coffee and everything was always fresh. The breakfast staff was friendly and accommodating. Finally, but not lightly I give a the front desk personnel and the hotel manager, Hannah could not have been better. They were all very pleasant, welcoming and professional. I had business packages sent to the front desk with no problems. Hannah definitely deserves credit for superb services and very successfully manage the entire hotel operation. I highly recommend this RI that far exceeded my expectations.

It was one of the best I've stayed at. I've stayed at many, but this one is top 5. I will return here as soon as I can.

Excellent staff, awesome breakfast, Suite was very nice and clean loved it. Jacuzzi was much needed and enjoyed after walking all day. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

One of the best hotels I ever stayed at. Front desk is really nice, the free breakfast was great they even give you togo option packaging. Front desk lady gave us her parking space when there wasn't one for us at 12:30 am. Our room had everything stove,toaster oven, microwave, dish washer, pots and pans, and a full on fridge.

Not bad restaurants across the street. It's a better hotel now that Duncan and Lee aren't there.Will be back
