Over the Rainbow Desserts

I called Over the Rainbow back at the end of September to see if they could make me a birthday cake with less than a weeks notice. We were coming in town and it had totally slipped my mind to arrange the cake further in advance. They very generously offered to make me a simpler version of the custom cake that I requested and had it available for pick up in time for our friend's birthday. The cake turned out better than I could have imagined. Truly so so cute and it tasted as good as it looked. Moist and light, really delicious. Highly recommend this bakery if you are in Palm Springs.

Over the Rainbow did a perfect job for this 30th birthday pickleball cake. It was absolutely delicious and we felt terrible cutting into it because it was so beautiful! They delivered directly to our Airbnb in Palm Springs. Would highly recommend!

For my cake I got the blue cheese blueberry cream cheese something or rather ( I forgot the exact title) and it was EXQUISITE!!

Both cakes were decorated to perfection and my sons cake was the cutest!!

I have to say, as a first time mom I was a little particular about what I wanted the cake to look like and she over delivered!!

WOW!! I ordered the black sesame and strawberry gluten-free cupcakes and I'm IN LOVE. I might fly back to PS just to get these cupcakes again!! They were perfectly moist, the flavor was incredible, and my group had no idea they were gluten-free (until they saw me eating them!) Thank you, Melissa, for helping coordinate the order over the phone for my vacation.

My pumpkin wedding cake was amazing!! Roman was easy to communicate with and was even able to make some cupcakes for guests who had dairy and gluten allergies. Thank you for making our wedding day even sweeter!

We asked Over the Rainbow Desserts to make our wedding cake, and it couldn't have turned out more perfectly. Throughout the process they were communicative and easy to work with.

We asked for a two tier chocolate cake, with cream cheese frosting between the cake layers. Because we were getting married in the desert, we asked for cactus and succulent decorations on the white cake, with desert quail (made out of fondant) for toppers. It turned out so beautifully--even more beautiful than we had hoped!

Every single person at the wedding complimented how delicious, fluffy, and moist the cake was, and how tasty the frosting was. We heard "this is the best wedding cake I've ever eaten" so many times!

All in all, Over the Rainbow Desserts made our wedding cake dreams come true. Can't wait to come back for a first anniversary cake!

Over the Rainbow Desserts came highly recommended by our wedding planner, Courtney of After the Engagement. My fiance, now husband, and I knew we did not want a big cake, but we did want small cakes for some of our guests. Our planner gave Roman our style board and colors and he knew exactly what we were going for. We had five small adorable, Mid-Century styled cakes personalized for each guest. They looked absolutely stunning at our venue, Frank Sinatra's Twin Palms Estate.

We will be ordering for our anniversary and any parties we have in Palm Springs again!

We love wonderful cakes and cupcakes and this place is the best. Not only is everything that is "in stock" delicious, but their special order cakes really make a party. We particulary love the meyer lemon bars and key lime pie. They really helped make a USC covid graduation special with a beautifully decorated cake that had cardinal and gold interior. This is our go-to place in the desert for special occasions, or just a fun dessert with friends and family.

I can’t say enough great things about our experience with Roman and Over the Rainbow. Roman made our wedding cake and exceeded our expectations for what we thought it could be. Not only was it EXACTLY what we envisioned in our heads, but it tasted INCREDIBLE!

To make things even better, Roman went out of his way when he realized the cake stand we purchased wasn’t going to work, so after delivering our cake, he went back to the shop and found a beautiful cake stand that would work and came back with it.

Thank you for everything you did to make our wedding special, tasty, and stress free!! We’ll DEFINITELY be back!

Melissa and team at Over the Rainbow delivered an amazing cake for our Palm Springs elopement. She translated my design direction beautifully and the cake turned out exactly as I had envisioned. Tasted as good as it looked, too.

The earlier you go, the more flavors are available. Everything we tried was incredibly fresh and delicious.

As a side note:

The customers are super annoying. The tourists, especially. Like, it's great that so many people come to Palm Springs and spend their money and support the local economy, but can you PLEASE stop with "the gay bee line" ?!? We've all seen it. Men of a certain age, with the same shorts and the same haircut, making a hurried bee line to the "new" thing they "have to try!", nearly knocking people off the sidewalk to get it. It's not cute. Just wait your turn and don't bother the cashier with your "witty" comments.

We had the most incredible experience with OTRD!! Communication was wonderful; responsive & through!
The amount of options for vegan flavors was astounding.
They worked with me, saw my vision & fulfilled it perfectly.
I wanted “Chic Nerd”, fancy cakes with superhero embalms & they delivered perfectly.
But more importantly, they tasted AMAZING!!!!
No one could believe they were vegan, they were moist, sweet & delicious. 1/100000 recommend!

Alanis was amazing. She helped me with my order over the phone. She was very personable. Had everything ready for me when I walked in the next day. The guys lovey the cupcakes and it was a wonderful experience. For sure will be back.

Sinful! The best cupcakes I've ever had , hands down! The chocolate chip cookie is also pretty ridiculous. I'm so glad I no longer work in close proximity to this place because I'd be 1000lbs.
