Kimpton Shorebreak Huntington Beach Resort

The room is really nice and spacious with an awesome bathtub. My only gripe is that it really isn't an oceanfront view. We pretty much only saw the ocean if we stood in front of the window and looked at an angle. There are also hidden resort fees that are applied after the stay. Room service is also quite a miss.

Those are the only 3 negative points I could find with this property. The location is wonderful, there is so much to do in walking distance. Every single employee I can across in my 6 night stay was such a joy. I cannot wait to stay here again! The activities they offer within the hotel are also very cool! The free s'mores kits were great.

My wife and I stayed here when we had a concert in Long Beach. It was much cheaper and only a 10-15 min Lyft. Also much better than staying in Long Beach for us. We made a weekend of it and enjoyed the beach and all the bars and restaurants walking distance from the hotel. Location is perfect!

We loved our room, it was clean and had a great view of the ocean. At night you can sleep with your balcony door open and hear the waves crash. We didn’t want to go back home. We’ll definitely stay here again, great staycation!

The location of this hotel is perfect, right on the beach and next to shopping and restaurants. The hotel has a great decor and vibe in the main lobby. There are 3 fire pits in the courtyard where you can roast s'mores they provide you with. There is corn hole and pin pong games. The rooms do not have a coffee maker, but they have a nice set up for free coffee and hot cocoa in the lobby. They have fruit flavored water in the lobby as well.

The room was clean and the bathroom was very large. The beds were comfortable. The shower was nice and steamy and they had a large bathtub. I really enjoyed the record player in the room, which you can pick vinyls from the lobby to bring up to your room. We picked a room that did not overlook the ocean as the hotel is right on the pacific coast highway. Even with a room facing the back, you could still hear the highway pretty loudly, so the hotel provided a white noise maker for sleep which was really handy! We slept well! The room had a tiny balcony but there were no chairs to sit in.

Came here with my boyfriend for 2 nights on business. Amazing experience. Loved the $60 breakfast voucher. Was a great benefit. Hunter at the front desk was amazing. Great staff all around. Food was very good. Rooms very nice and sound proof even on main level! great shower and bathroom space , loved the place overall. Locations was awesome. Right near all the fun bars . Record player and Bluetooth in the room were great. Will definitely be back soon!! Highly recommend for a trip to Huntington Beach.

Writing this review from the passenger seat of my vehicle while on our way to Shorebreak. I absolutely love this place. We have spent many nights at this hotel and every time we do it’s a wonderful time. For the first time we are bringing our dog, Carlos, along to enjoy with us. Some things I love and have enjoyed as a guest: amazing coffee bar in the morning, borrowed beach chairs, umbrellas and towels to relax at the beach with, checked out beach cruisers with my husband and daughter and took a ride around town, drank wine/beer/cocktails/ate apps at the daily happy hour whilst listening to records played by the staff, taken kids into the fitness center and climbed rock wall, foosball, ping pong, pop up 80’s ski lodge bar, got smores kits from the front desk and made them by the outdoor fire pits with the fam, perused the hotel record collection and taken albums to my room to play on the record player (every room has one)…etc etc etc. We’re about three hours away and I am literally counting down. Can’t wait to get there and enjoy happy hour and a stroll around town! If you like fun, relaxation, and chilling in a luxurious yet non pretentious environment, do yourself a solid and check-in as soon as humanly possible!

Everything you need in one place. There's no need to get in your car fabulous food fabulous view. They give you beach chairs, your bikes. Just a name a few of these that's a games. It's just so much fun kid friendly dog friendly. I can't even express how much I truly enjoyed my time. Their end will be going back most likely every 6 months.

Love, love and love this hotel! Beautiful interior and surf vibes a plenty! Staff was always friendly and helloooo ocean view! Big rooms and comfy bed! Bathroom was awesome and deep soaker tub was a bonus. Dog friendly was a great bonus as I love dogs. The yoga on sunday morning wasn't the best, but Jacquie the instructor tried her best I'm sure. Also the valet parking maybe was a bit high per day and then they always were lingering for tips..so in and out a few times a day would add up if tipping each way plus $45.
Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Dont forget to take advantage of the free bikes! So fun!

Phenomenal, cute boutique hotel! Loved the social hour and nighttime smores. Quiet and well kept/clean. Highly recommend. Right by the pier with great ocean and scenic views.

We had a great experience here. Very friendly staff every time we countered them, very clean. Wonderful views. The restaurant was a tad slow, but we just enjoyed the view while we waited.

We are locals and thought to stop into the Shorebreak for their 80s ski resort inspired popup, "Pier Summit". We thoroughly enjoyed the drinks, the food, the service and the ambience. Big thanks to the staff there for making our experience so memorable. We will be back next year if they have it again. Cheers!

Easy in and out - valet and parking were simple and accessible. Staff was top notch! Location is walking distance to all the fun stuff in HB.

Spent a night by Huntington beach for my GF’s birthday. Very nice staff and great view. Appreciate the birthday champagne and snacks! Will come back definitely.

Wanted to surprise my SO with a night out and a room (but nearby) and this place was recommended. My wife says after staying "You found our new place."
Kris at the front desk (whom is downright AMAZING) made us feel like old friends as opposed to new customers. In minutes we both felt so comfortable and were so excited to try all the amenities we booked an extra night on the spot....and we are SO glad we did!! 25 minutes from home but service and scenery like you're in a fancy Hawaiian hotel. Incredible place to stay.

Absolutely loved my stay with the Shorebreak! I booked my stay for a short beach getaway with my dog, and this hotel was more than just a dog-friendly stay. I’ve never experienced such a welcoming hotel for a dog! I almost wonder if they love four-legged guests over humans! 😆 I love the fun environment from nightly s’mores to table tennis and even the record library to enjoy in your room. Both me and my dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will likely make this an annual summer beach holiday!

Hotel was beautiful with a great location. The bikes available for use were great! We got an upgraded room with a beach view for being diamond members. We loved the note with wine and cookies as well. Best hotel I've ever stayed at!

Everything about this Kimpton was amazing. Perfect location, right off the beach, the PCH, and stores and restaurants. Board storage, free blankets and towels for the beach... The room and bathroom were spacious, clean, and well-stocked. Everyone from the front desk to the bar were welcoming and really showed they cared about your experience. I traveled solo and felt very safe and comfortable. Even the valet team was superb and accommodating. 10/10! I'd recommend and return in a heart beat.

I am a professor of hospitality at UNLV, and I can honestly say I have never stayed at a hotel I enjoyed more than this one. The location is excellent, near the beach and Main Street. However what really makes this hotel special is the seamless service and amenities. The nightly manager reception is truly fun and special. The fire pits create an amazing atmosphere. The record player in the room and record library create a great atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and have balconies. We had a king suite that was wonderful. And the bathtub with bath salts and a bath tray are to die for. Just go. You won't regret it.

This place is a Laid back, comfortable contemporary hotel that's also '60s retro and dog friendly! Fun spot.
