Nice room. No air conditioner. Central air and heating not cold or strong enough, personally. Otherwise the front dest help was very helpful.

Stayed nude the entire time including the several times I went outside for a cigarette. There was a lovely girl who asked to help me relieve some tension back in my room. No charge she just wanted to help. Such a sweet girl.

You feel like your in a tropics like Hawaii in a way . But when you step out of the initial area you back to reality. But In & OUT is your backyard. So yes an No to go 80 % yes for me

I love this hotel. I was a regular here for quiet sometime and they were always understanding to me and my needs. Rooms are always clean and customer service is always great. Love the young lady in the mornings , always has a smile on her face and makes the best out of every situation and will make sure you leave the office with all needs met and as for the asain guy at night . He is a gem too. No matter what he is always making sure I have what I need and always makes small talk with me which makes me feel good as well. They are all lovely here , don't let the reviews full you. Honestly made me feel like family

It's affordable I stay here for weeks at a time. 21 days actually due to city ordinances. Anyways, pretty much a budget in. I'm a local and I'm comfy staying here with my kids and all. (room 218 best ac. U can control it yourself it works really good. U can literally feel the air Literally it's awesome. It freezes the room at night,u will need extra blankets to cozy up. Staff is always professional and courteous. Manager brought breakfast back.

My wife and I have visited the Vagabond on multiple times. We stayed here with no problems. The price was 86$ with 50$ cash deposit and a credit card is needed to be on file for accessing the room. They do not charge your card if you pay cash but they do need one on file if your planning on staying here. It's close to the 405 freeway and in the same parking lot of in and out burger. It can get a little busy with the in and out next door, but over all a good place to stay for a few nights on a budget. There is also a lot of stores and mall type places close by if your planning on doing any shopping. I like the palm trees and the environment at the motel makes you feel like your in the tropics. Clean rooms tidy and neat 10/10 motel

Front desk is wonderful, they made her work endless though and they really need to pay her more. Everything she did for the people there was phenomenal. Truly. I found no bugs in the beds, the sheets were clean, the floor needed mopping but it hadn't been slept in for a while so dust builds and I found ONE baby cocokroach that was fossilized and stuck to the wall. Guys, it's humid in Cali and there wasn't an infestation. Again, not having been slept in in a while means minute inconveniences like that will happen. If you can't get by that go to a Hilton, but I am telling, I've gotten bed bugs from a Hilton and not from this place. Everyone is friendly and accommodating just don't be a jerk. The location is prime, central most of everything the ease of access to the hotel is diminished because of that Inn N Out, which btw is not worth that kind of line, but you will fight traffic getting in... n out.

This is the best hotel in Costa mesa. I have had the privilege of staying in the vagabond on two different occasions. Each time the staff was attentive and kind. The whole place is kid friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool and hot tub were perfect for relaxing. The whole place is charming and well cared for, and its close to the beach. Durring this visit i unfortunately hurt my back and we had to leave early. The staff was helpful and offered us a full refund for the days we didn't use. We won't be staying anywhere else on our family trips to the beach.

Deposit was minimal ...I even received it w in a few days.. hotel is looking a lot better. Many renovations happening .... Many more to b done. Progress NOT Perfection .

Rooms are really good for the price. Also very clean. There's a fridge & microwave avail in rooms. Also the lady who manages in the evenings is extremely helpful. We had WiFi issues which she corrected immediately with no fuss. I would recommend. Only downside was the bed was too hard for my comfort.

Didn't have my ID and they helped me when other hotels wouldn't. Decent rooms pretty clean friendly staff, would come back.

Out of all the motel we stayed at the far the best motel. The front desk clerk in the afternoon she was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice and very clean. I really like the table for that room. We will definitely be back for sure

Rooms were a little dated but clean. Carpets could use replacing... Water pressure was AMAZING! Bed was actually comfortable & breakfast was nothing fancy - just your average no-frilIz breakfast with pastries, little muffins & 3 types of cereal. Best Juice machine selection I have EVER seen! 🙃 Overall - remodel much needed but the staff being very pleasant, free wifi, and noon checkout still make it to 5 stars in my book. Will come again! NOTE:There is a $20 deposit that will be returned to you upon checkout (assuming you leave the place in the condition you came in!)

Alrite I gotta give The Vagabond 5 stars. The location isn't their fault, crackheads are sketchy everywhere...However from the moment I walked in they helped me out and got my back. And even when I had to check out with an hour left on my room, and luggage in it, they helped me out again and I worked everything out. They're rad and hospitable all the way 🤙💯 10/10 would recommend.

Vagabond Costa Mesa has been my go-to business hotel in this area for the past year, and I just stayed again for another week.

The housekeeping staff managed by Martha is outstanding. My room is always cleaned thoroughly. Whenever I request a hair dryer or an iron, it's delivered to my room within five minutes... Five-star hotels can't match that kind of service. The front desk crew including Sharmin and Damaris does an excellent job handling check-in and check-out. The maintenance staff is friendly and helpful as well.

This hotel is also in an excellent location... The 405 highway is within a block and local restaurants - all within a block or two - include Chick-fil-a, McDonald's Pollo Loco, Denny's, Cain's Chicken, IHOP and Taco Bell. On top of all that, an excellent Target store is just two blocks away as is one of the chain drug stores.

I almost forgot to mention... All of the rooms have been equipped with brand new small refrigerators and microwave ovens during the past year. The housekeeping staff has been doing a great job keeping these sparkling clean. And all of the rooms have excellent flat panel TVs with lots of cable choices including great movie channels and the National Geographic channel, a personal favorite of mine.

Finally, the free breakfast includes all-you-can-drink orange juice and several other juices, danish, rolls, bananas, oranges, cereal, milk, etc.

My only suggestion is that they see if they can include a business channel like maybe CNBC in their cable TV line-up.

Bottom line: This hotel is a great value.

Rooms were surprisingly spacious which included a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. It felt very private. They did require a $50 deposit at check in .

I got here last minute after midnight, and guy at reception was really friendly and offered me room with balcony for the same price. Quick check-in, easy parking and clean/tidy room, great tv program. Wi-Fi works right away too. Fridge is clean such as the bathroom!!! There is a safe and a table with big windows providing lots of natural light. And great for eating and working.
Breakfast was simple but delicious, and started early on (6 30 am ) which was really convenient!
Saw a vending machine downstairs too. Looked full. But in'n'out is literally next door. Such as cheap gas station!
I loved this place!! Absolute 5* for 75.99$ on weekend nights!!

Great value, Family oriented hotel. The staff and manager have been extremely helpful with every request we have had and have gone above and beyond to make sure that our stay is quiet and comfortable. could not beat the price in all of orange county and free wifi and breakfast (fresh fruit, cereal, pastries and coffee).

We had to stay at Vagabond Inn in Costa Mesa for one night and as I was packing early the following morning I must have dropped my wallet in the parking lot. I did not even notice it missing until I had gotten to my next destination to stay and was cleaning out my pockets for the evening. I called Vagabond Inn and they said they had found a wallet in the parking lot. I drove back to the hotel and went to the registration desk. They handed me my wallet. I checked my wallet for my driver's license and my credit cards. Not only were they all there, but so was every dollar that I had also put in there. In this day and age when personal security is so much at risk and everything in my wallet was left untouched, I just reached in without counting the money and gave it all to the registration clerk whom told me her maid had found and turned my wallet. Their honesty at this hotel rates 5 stars and if I could give them more, I certainly would. Thank you very much, again Vagabond Inn. Happy New Year to you and your staff!!

Okay you got the Motel 6 you've got Travelodge it's better than either of those two bargain hotel chains and it always seems that they're like 20% cheaper so it's a no-brainer when you're in this part of Orange County or any other California county that has their footprint I would definitely stay with vagabond. Always treated well and I've noticed always check to see if there's any kind of discount available on top of the value pricing.
