Love coming for brunch and have come at least five times, almost always with our infant and then toddler. I love the outdoor patio, the French toast, how accommodating the restaurant is of our toddler and that there are tons of NA cocktails and beverages options. Service is always excellent and I love the food. Always feels like a treat to drive up here on a sunny day. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options too.

Excellent value and tasty food. Cozy atmosphere in a rainy day. The spicy pork and beef bolognese was exceptionally good. The fettuccine had great texture in homemade style. The seared wild halibut went well with the creamy sauce and mushroom. The polenta mushroom cube were crunchy and tasty. The drinks were refreshing and good pairing with the dishes. Staff was friendly and attentive.

When I first entered the restaurant, it was cozy and intimate, filled with people. It would be my first time bringing my parents and brother to a place of this caliber. The first thing we notice is how expensive the menu seems, but in hindsight, the restaurant pays the workers a living wage with benefits, which is rare. So, it all factors into the menu price. The first dish of Millionaire Devil Egg is delicious, with contrasting flavors of micro greens and compound butter sauce. The second dish of pumpkin cream soup is, as expected, delicious. The last dish of the steak and endives is perfectly grilled to medium rare perfection. I would say the service is attentive with great speed. Despite the higher cost, I would say to try the restaurant, and you won't be disappointed.

Our waitress was amazing. Chilaquiles very very good and the bolognese is the best we’ve ever had. Cinnamon roll 10/10. Go here.

We had a fabulous time and will definitely make it a point to come back again. I have Celiac disease and it’s hard to find places that are safe. Lovina’s staff were knowledgeable, warm, and I had so many choices! Food was divine.

Lovina Roving Fest - I LOVE CALISTOGA says it all. The layered tastes included a delightful menu while on a downtown stroll: Lovina, EV Flowers, Picayune, and Cami. What a treat—photo story!

Wow! What a gem. The food was so good, the service was amazing and super cute atmosphere. Nice business model that includes tip and living wage and benefits for staff. We had the sourdough appetizer, which was sooo good. I had the halibut. It was perfect. My friend had the mushrooms forest dish, also yummy. Save room for dessert. The hot mess will not disappoint.

I came into Lovina with no real expectations, since my wife had booked us a reservation the day-of when we stayed a weekend in Calistoga. It sounded like a cute farm to table type restaurant and they had pasta, so I was in!

What it turned out to be was so much more than a "little restaurant" and ended up being my favorite meal of the trip, and honestly some of the best pasta I've had in all of California.

From the start with the friendly staff (that they pay a living wage! No tipping needed!) to the end of the meal, everything was fantastic. They even gave us a card for our anniversary! The extensive drink menu, even outside the Napa wine selections, was unique and put a twist on some classic drinks. Their menu, while not extremely large, had a good balance of vegan and meat-containing options to choose from. Even the bread they offered, which came with an avocado garlic butter, was different and amazing!

We ordered two starters - a quinoa salad with a delicious vinaigrette dressing that was bright without being too sour, and a special that evening of halibut ceviche with tortilla chips. Both were great, and the portion sizes were even bigger than we expected for an appetizer. Our main meals we each got a pasta - the mushroom gnocchi with a very good, earthy flavor to the gnocchi itself was paired with a decent amount of vegetables to go with it. The other meal we got was the pork and beef bolognese, which can only be described as deliciously bright and not nearly as heavy as any other bolognese I remember having outside the east coast.

Because of the generous portion sizes, we skipped the dessert (although the flourless brownie dessert was tempting). Overall our check before tax was $170 - which is what we've paid for a single person at prix fixe spots we've been to previously. The fact that Lovina's food was comparable-if-not-better and a fraction of the price (even with drinks!) is outstanding.

I did give the atmosphere 4 stars, but it's mainly because the place was full to the brim and since it's in an older house there's not a ton of space between tables. Larger tables even shared benches with other tables to accommodate more space to eat - it's not a bad thing to have so many people but it was a little louder and I'm hoping they eventually get a larger space because they deserve it!

I'm going to recommend this place to everyone that tells me they're going to Napa, no matter how far away they might be staying!

Enjoyed a delicious meal at this lovely gem. The menu offers a little bit of everything for all types of lifestyles (carnivores, omnivores, pescetarians, etc) with which my hubby and I were pleased. I had the GF spaghetti with Impossible "meat" and it was delicious. The flavor of the marinara sauce was well balanced with thr seasoning. Salt was minimally present which was perfect. My hubby had the Impossible lasagna with cashew cheese. It, too, was delicious and flavorful.

All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They seemed genuinely happy to work there. Along those lines, the restaurant is a no-tip facility but it's prices reflect a living wage + benefits for all its employees. Bravo!!

The history of the restaurant is interesting. Please read it and take a picture with the bear. Lastly, it's a woman-owned restaurant that has withstood many of the challenges it's experienced (COVID, fires, etc). It's a real gem and a local favorite!

Simply all around 5 star experience. Made the evening for us - hospitality from staff who helped us was the best!! You guys rock (Rachael et al).

We were out of town visiting to spend few days in Calistoga. We were staying @ a local place so had made the reservation in advance (would highly suggest that and look for outdoor patio when booking).

We were early by 20 mins or so and were basically turned away to come back which could have been handled differently. But the hospitality after we arrived at our reservation time, made it for that unpleasant experience; so much so we totally forgot about that. While we waited for our perfect table at the deck, we were seated at the bar and served wine and because we had to wait for additional time at the bar (seated and enjoying convo with wine), we were served complimentary starter.

Food and wine was the BEST!! Halibut is a must try! This is served with shredded form of mushrooms and house made gnocchi that were the best we had ever had. And must I say - its a great place for vegetarians. We also tried veggie spaghetti bolognese that was flavorful.

Thank you for the wonderful experience!! This will be our go to place everytime we are here!

What a gem of a restaurant! Truly elegant food served with a homemade, authentic personality in a very cozy setting. Lovina is an oasis in a sea of restaurant choices. The staff shines, and puts a spotlight on the customer experience. We felt welcome the minute we stepped in and it carried through the whole evening, with attention to every detail.

We split the Curly Kale salad, a wonderful blend of fresh tastes and textures with its citrus, hearts of palm and almond slices. For our entrees we chose the Impossible Lasagna and Almost Bolognese dishes. Each was like a party on the plate, filled with delicious ingredients that played with our palates.

We especially liked reading - and supporting - Lovina’s business approach to including a tip in the price and paying all their workers a premium. You can tell that everyone working there was happy, and this came through in how customers were treated.

Thanks again to Ian, Jordan and the rest of the team for a memorable evening!

Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service! I love that this restaurant decided to add in tips for their employees, so customers don't even have to worry about it. Plus they also publicize their benefits they give to their employees. I really love supporting a business establishment that treats their employees well. All that aside the food is really spectacular! Our group got salads, BLT, and both regular and vegetarian versions of The Bolognese. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend this place as a stop.

This place is amazing and very vegan friendly. The staff are helpful and knowledgable. The food is FANTASTIC. For fellow Vegans - the eggplant Milanese was genuinely the best dish ive had recently. They have multiple options and can also adapt some dishes to be made vegan. If it seems pricey, they are adding the 20% tip into the cost - so its pretty reasonable.

The bolognese (with the “make it dirty” addition) was honestly some of the best pasta I have ever had (including pasta from all over Italy)! Ambience was so lovely and romantic and everyone was very kind. Also love the no tip/living wage and benefits system. My partner and I both loved it here. I never write reviews but had to for this one!

Darling! We recently dined at this lovely restaurant. It was a treat! This was the most delicious food and best service while visiting the Napa area. Michaley, their manager, was so welcoming. It was like going to eat at your best friend's house. Only that this friend actually knew how to make a solid drink, and sumptous, delicious food. Easy repeat clients. We loved it! Highly recommend.

We stumbled across this place and are so glad! The staff were so kind and the food was beyond! Carlos has some rad dad jokes. The bread with the pesto butter was the highlight (we went for drinks and appetizers). They have non-alcoholic options, not just bubble water and soda, and Carlos made us the fanciest mock tails. Don’t miss this place when you’re in town!

I went late at night at about 8:45 and they were kind enough to seat me, on the patio, and serve me. I only wanted a bit of a snack so I had sausage meatballs from the appetizer menu, an order of hot sourdough bread, and a three scoop ice cream sundae. I know not very healthy! But the service was great and they were kind. The atmosphere is wonderful especially in the evening with the lights on the patio. I must say it is not cheap! My appetizer bread and a Sunday with tip came to $45!

We plan to go again tonight so I may update this.

A tip-free restaurant serving up delicious modern American dishes with a beautiful decor. We were able to be seated outside as a party of 3 with no wait and no reservations on the Thursday before Christmas weekend on the beautiful Large Hardwood table (Large enough for 8-10 people). We ordered a variety of dishes and every dish was executed to perfection, delicious and bold flavors, with friendly and fast service.

For appetizers the House-Made Fresh Ricotta is a must get. The local honey combined with the soft ricotta and a nice crispy crostini is to die for. One of the best ricotta appetizers I've had anywhere in the world. The API Amarillo Aguachile is a nice reminder of Japanese sashimi when you're a world's away.

For entrees, Ordered the Seared Wild Halibut, Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib, and the Duck Confit & Kale Pesto Pasta. Between the 3 I'd be hard pressed to pick any favorites since all of them were so delicious. Best if you can try them all and share a little of each which is what we chose to do.

The desserts are fantastic as well and not overly sweet to give a nice ending to the day. Thick and decadent caramelized apple bread pudding but without an over the top sweetness and a chocoflan cake that was surprisingly airy and light.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend others or come back here anytime we're in town.
