The Thelewala chicken roll, it was excellent. Chicken marinated in green salsa with eggs, onions. So much flavor. I only wish it was a little bigger. Next time I'd order two.

Small joint with excellent rolls. We got a thelewala roll, and the spice was perfect, and the masala sprinkled on the roll reminded me of street food, specifically rolls, in India. Masala chai was authentic adrak (ginger) masala chai and was perfect for the cold day we visited!
Mohar Sharma, the owner, was friendly and shared stories about how he got into restaurants and Indian food, which made our visit more special.

Best place in town to eat Kathi rolls. I personally enjoyed the chata pata paneer roll here. It is very tasty and flavorful. I have been there almost 3-4 times while our trip in NY. They have many other options in menu and give quick service. They have only a few tables for outdoor seating.

Hands down the best roll I have had in New York yet. Worth the visit. I wish they served some kind of chutney or sauce with it. However it was pretty yummy and we loved the chat pata paneer roll.

Nice place in New York to have some karhi rolls. The rolls are really close to some bengali rolls. There are some authentic rolls including some bengali snacks like jhal muri and all.
But jhal muri has too much mustard oil but close to the Indian version.

Nice place to hang out for sure!

I guess I have been long enough in US now that I totally forgot how flavourful Indian food can be. God, I missed some raw green chilly, lemon and cilantro. I ordered some veg roll and bhel puri. This place left my palate satisfied and thankful.

Tea sucks. It's mostly water. Expecting a good tea is probably too much to ask anyways.

Every food we took was worth every dollar!! I was craving pani puri so bad! This place had amazing pani puri. The chicken phall roll is meant for people with high spice level, it was out of the world, i loved them a lot! The chicken malai roll was subtle and very tasty! Place is a little small, but rest all is perfect.

My first time visit there. Tried their Calcutta style Nizami Thelewala Special Chicken Roll and Malai Chicken Roll. Both are awesome and grew up in Calcutta it gives same taste vibes which I want to have outside of Calcutta. definitely will try and highly recommended. Next we've tried their Calcutta style jhal muri, ghughni and tawa chicken. without a doubt it was delicious. Sure visit next time if I'm in the city and will explore their other menu items.

Great tasting food and very friendly staff. When they say it’s spicy it spicy. Even the jaal muri has green Chilis that make it spicy. Only get the spicy stuff if you can handle the heat. But great food over all abs must visit

Less spacious but delicious wraps! My friends and I have fond memories of this place. Whether it’s for post drinking snack or just a craving for wraps/frankie. This is the closest thing to home. Must try!

I love their street food. Like the hole in the wall vibe of the place. HUGE fan of their mustard flavored peanut chat. The paneer rolls are really good too. I find their anda bhurji a bit too dry for my liking.
But this is one of the best Indian street outside of India.

Right opposite to Khati roll company. The size of the the khati roll is bigger than the roll provided by Khati roll company.I had the chat pata paneer roll. The roll was tasty with tangy spicy flavour and was worth it for the price. Would love to visit again. It is among the top 10 inexpensive restaurants in NYC.

MUST stop by this place if you’re ever in NYC, for authentic street food rolls!!
My husband tried the unda aloo roll and I got the Aloo paneer roll. Both were so flavorful, spicy - tangy and delicious. Absolutely Loved it!

Thelewala is our new kathi roll favorite in NYC. I won’t name the old one 🙈 not many people know but Thelewala offers an exclusively spicy experience with their PHAL Sauce. One of our friends recommended getting the chicken roll with PHAL sauce and OMG it was so damn spicy. So you can definitely try it if you like spicy food. You can also try their vegetarian rolls, I really like their paneer roll better than others.

The place is Tiny and can only accommodate 6 people at a given time but the takeout orders were swamping in and the food was delicious so don’t hesitate, get in and enjoy the food.
