Best barbershop I’ve been to, everyone’s chill and laid back, prices are right and the cuts always come out clean, this is where the real 5 star barbers are at!

Paulie truly blessed me with the haircut I needed in a long time, truly the best by far!

One of the last OG barbershops from an era when being a barber meant something. Once you get one cut you're family for life. Sam will be dearly missed.

Such a great place. Full of nostalgia from the early times and history of barbers. These barbers carry themselves like gentleman and cut like masters. Will definitely be returning

Great old fashion barber shop. You can't go wrong and the clients, near and far, all appreciate this gem in Alhambra. I'm sad to report that Sam Artino passed away on 9/19/23. He was a good man. Sam's still has the same great barbers plus new new operator Paulie. Still great cuts and service. I switched to Al Garcia (chair next to Sam's). Al does a great job. Highly recommended.

Sam was such a blessing, my son was unhappy with his Supercut and starting school on Monday , he squeezed us in and fixed his cut just in time for school! Very happy!

I started going to them last year. Daniel has been cutting my hair. He is terrific. You need to make an appointment, they are quite busy. I am often asked who cuts My hair. I am pleased to tell them Sam's Barbershop. Alhambra.

Sam at the rest of his staff truly are exceptional barbers. It’s pretty rare these days to be able to find that old barber shop feel where everyone is relaxed and talking to each other and just having a good time. There’s a great atmosphere here, which is probably enough to get me to come back even if the haircut I received was just decent.

But the hair cut and styling I got here at Sam’s was way more than okay. It was possibly one of the best cuts in my life, and I didn’t have to say a word. Sam insisted that he knew exactly “what my hair wanted” and I actually had very little to do with how it ended up looking, and it looks amazing!

I had seen Sam's Barbershop for years after moving to Alhambra. A couple of years ago I was looking for a new barbershop after fifteen years at another local barbershop. I decided to give Sam's a try, it was like I had been here for years. Sam was very welcoming and an experienced barber. A bonus he is also a great conversionalist, which was good for me who likes to talk. I recommend Sam's Barbershop!

I went to Sam's Barbershop when I was about 10 years old and throughout my teen and adult years on and off. Sam is probably one of the nicest people you'll ever meet in your lifetime! He's a genuine guy, family man & a great Barber of course, I'm planning to come visit him very soon for a trim myself!!

First time going with my 5 year old son and we love it. We have been looking for a barber that can cut his hair because his hair around the crown stick up and we were happy with the outcome. My son even said thats his haircut was "awesome." We will definitely come back

I've been going here for a few months now, and its exactly like you would imagine traditional barbershop being. You come inside and are instantly welcome by everybody and it makes you feel like you are right at home. Mike always does an amazing job, neat and clean every time. I've never been disappointed since I started coming, I currently recommend this place to all my friends who live in he area. Make sure to give them a call, it gets busy quick.

I was completely overwhelmed! Not only Sam is a great barber but he's a testament to goodness for other humans.
I was visiting LA and badly needed a beard trim. I was skeptical about going to an unknown place to have my beard shaped and trimmed but decided to go ahead with what google reviews said.
I visited Sam's and was amazed with the friendly atmosphere. The shop was full of customers and everybody knew everybody. There were random sports talk, family talk, haircut talk. The walls in the shop are filled with Sam's images from the past 50 years. And all the pictures were about charity, donations, and different events where Sam was involved in giving back to the community. It was quite an unusual scene for a salon
Sam had coffee and donuts on the house for everyone. Anyone can come in and have their breakfast for free.
How many salons offer that? And for the low amount he charges, this was a very kind service!
It was my turn. I was a first-timer to the place so Sam inquired about me and how I came to know about his shop. I told him about my situation and how picky I am with my barbers.
I also told him about how I want my beard to be trimmed. Sam added his own advice and was ready for the cut.
Now, like a hi-tech salon, Sam was showing me different professional equipment I could use to maintain my beard(a trimmer, beard comb, hair brush) and he said he would give me those. I liked those equipment so in my head I decided to buy them when I leave.
He completed his job as per my requirement and his added advice - he gave me an amazing beard trim!
I felt happy that I chose to go with Sam in spite of my reservations about unknown barbers.
As I was ready to pay, Sam gave me brand new beard comb and hair brush and when I asked about the price, he said they were FREE!
And when I asked him about charge for my beard trim, he said that was also for FREE!
I was stunned!
Here's an amazing man who is feeding people, giving an amazing service, his prices are low and he gives stuff away for free! I was stunned by the goodness. I insisted on paying - a lot! But he was adamant and said he would throw me out of the shop if I paid. He literally had to drag me out.
When I had no choice, I just hugged him and he just asked me to pass on the karma.

This was 3 weeks back and my heart still melts thinking about him.

Sam, thank you for being you. You're an amazing person and the world is lucky to still have people like you. May God bless you with all the happiness. And I will surely pass on the karma.

Great little spot in San Gabriel. They are friendly, have A/C, a tv to watch and even offer you water or soda while you wait. First time hair cuts are $15 then after that they are $20. They have a good size parking lot. You can call in advance and schedule an appointment but walk-ins are welcome. They freestyle and don't use the numbers for the clippers.

I first went to Sam over 40 years ago when he was between Alpha Beta and Alphies in Alhambra. Now I travel 1100 miles twice a year to get my 3 boys haircuts as well as myself. Sam, John, and Mike have all done excellent jobs! We walked in 31 December 2014 and they (all 3 barbers) were very busy but, they fit us all in!!! It's like Cheers without the beer.....Sam is also a great humanitarian, collecting food and donations for the needy. We will definitely be back!!!!

The venerable Sam's Barber Shop in Alhambra is everything one could hope for in a barber - decades of unmatched skill and expertise, a small-town atmosphere where you feel welcome and the best style / cut you will get ANYWHERE. I enthusiastically and highly recommend Sam's Barber Shop!

Amazing barber. First time here and I am impressed with the quality of person Sam the Barber. Interesting character. The haircut was a plus. Definitely will be my regular-go-to barbershop.

Sam is the Chuck Norris of barbers. I haven't, and probably won't meet another barber like him. My five star review doesn't justify his otherworldly costumer service.
