Sampa Jiu Jitsu and Martial Arts

One of the best choices we have made as a family. I have two sons that have been part of sampa since they were 5 and 6 years old. Now at 14 and 15, they have developed a life style both mentally and physically. Their goal is to keep learning and reach their goals at sampa. Thank you forever prof. Renato, prof. We have been going here for over a year, And the improvements we have seen have been awesome! My son has loved starting out in parent and me with Coach Mike , and is now moved up loving Coach Pierre and JP . He struggled to move up and the coaches were so patient and kind which eventually helped him join in with the older kids , We are so grateful and excited for our children to grow here 🖤

I have been taking the women's self defense class for about two months and I have already improved so much. I feel so much more strong and empowered. The class is also very beginner friendly. Professor Renato is a great instructor who is patient and encouraging to his students.

As soon as you step in you are treated like family. Very impressed with the way the masters handle the children. They truly get involved with their children to teach them discipline and boost confidence. My son loves Sampa!

My family has been training at Sampa for close to ten years now. We love it so much and recommend to everybody! Even though there are many closer jiu jitsu studios to us, we don’t mind driving twenty minutes for our classes at Sampa because of the amazIng professors and the quality of instruction we receive 😊

They are extremely patient w children, and the only gym I’ve seen to let kids begin at 3.5 years old. Great instructors, and a pleasant experience. I highly recommend .

Sampa is an amazing place! We started taking our kids to train here a year ago. They are learning jujitsu but even more so are developing essential character traits that will help them in their lives. Each month there is a different character theme, like perseverance, winning, and control, that they can earn a special badge for. The professors and coaches are patient and know how to help call greatness out of them. There are multiple staff available at each class that give individual feedback and correction which helps the students to improve their technique so they can master various moves, pins, and submissions. My kids are learning how to do arm bars right now! They grow and improve so much with each class they take. We just signed on for another year because Sampa is where we want our kids to be! We are happy to be a part of the Sampa family!

I've been bringing my son her for a couple of months now. My son loves this place and so do I. The people who work her so obviously love what they do and they give from their soul. We get a real family vibe. I'm glad we're here.

We love Sampa Glendora. My daughter has gained so much confidence. She is learning how to defend herself and have fun at the same time. They challanger her mentally and physically. Sampa have the best coaches and the best jiu jitsu. It’s a family gym. The coaches have years and years of experience. I love this place.

Our son has been with Sampa and started in the Parent/Child class. It’s been a great experience and he enjoys it. We especially love their “themes”/concept concentrations that they change every few weeks— i.e.: stranger safety, respect, focus, etc… Coach Bobby is the best!

I have been with Sampa for 9 months now and it has been the best investment I made for myself. The staff and professors have been nothing but exceptional. Sampa has definitely set a high standard for their gym and it shows. Professor Renato is invested in his students by having a clear curriculum set for students to succeed. He has incredible patience and amazing ability to instruct from years of experience. Professor Ryan teaches the fighter/ growth mindset during his classes as well as methodical coaching/ drills to keep everyone safe. Professor Nate and Paul seamlessly make the class flow well from warm up to sparring. One of the reasons why I chose Sampa was the various classes they provide at different times to accommodate my schedule as well as the family/ team atmosphere and clean/organized facility. I am a month in and am loving it! My son and I go together and we have learned a ton. Although I am older (almost 50) and he is a teenager, we love that we can train together. Shout-outs to Professor John, Coach Paul, and Professor Ryan - whom we have had the privilege of working with. The lineage of our academy is authentic Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as our founder studied with the renowned Gracie family in Brazil and eventually many other master practitioners from around the world. The result is a well-rounded blend of effective self-defense techniques and styles to give students the confidence and skills needed to succeed.

Training has been worth all of the sweat and sore muscles as we continue to grow in skill and strength with every class. We love the accomplished feeling we get at the end of our workouts.

My son Lucas started off here with the two week trial. I think it’s amazing they offer two weeks, the soccer program we tried only offered the first class for free. But Sampa offers a two week free trial, during that trial you can attend as many classes as you want! Obviously you don’t want to abuse the system but my son absolutely loved it. You can tell all the instructors have a passion for what they do and I’m super grateful that they take extra time to get the beginners up to speed with the more advanced kids. My son has asthma and also needed to be more active in general. Ever since he started at Sampa he’s on track to lose the weight his doctor recommended and has improved his health overall. With the basic membership, one parent can also train for free on Saturdays. I can’t say enough about Sampa, we look forward to keep attending classes!

My favorite place to be. I’ve been at Sampa for nearly a year now and even dragged my family into it 😊 I first started with their kickboxing program (amazing btw) and slowly made my way into Jiu-Jitsu. Best decision I could’ve made. The environment at Sampa is so friendly, everyone you partner and spar with look to take care of you, so there’s no worry if you’re sparring with someone who’s a higher belt or not. The passion the professors have to teach is inspiring. You can see they all love what they do. They always make sure the students can train the safest way, but make it fun nonetheless. Could’ve have chosen a better school to be at!

This is a great place to train, I have been here for a little over 2 years and always look forward to the days I can come. My 8 year old son trains here too and I would say the kid’s program is amazing. Any person could come and learn a lot and for a long time, all of the staff members are polite and very knowledgeable.

Sampa is a genuine family-oriented gym. The coaches quickly get to know you and your kids, which makes me feel better as a parent because I’m also getting to know the people training myself and my child. Sampa hosts various family-friendly activities throughout the year, some free and some paid. They have an established curriculum and the classes are taken seriously from the peewees to the adults, with respect to the age group (meaning you won’t be paying just for your little one to run around for an hour, and if you take a class you’re going to leave sweaty!). The staff and coaches are friendly and welcoming, and jiu jitsu has quickly become my happy place!

The kids jujitsu classes at Sampa Academy are absolutely exceptional. The instructors are not only skilled but also incredible nurturing and patient, creating a safe and encouraging environment for children to learn. What sets this program apart is its focus on character development, discipline, and self-confidence, in addition to physical skills.

Sampa saved my life.

I'll admit it--I'm a big guy. Before i started, i was tipping the scales at over 300 pounds, and the thought of stepping into a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu studio was intimidating, to say the least. But oh boy, am I glad I did! Sampa has completely transformed not only my approach to fitness but also my confidence and outlook on life.

From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and encouragement from the Sampa family. I initially worked with Coach Paul who understood my concerns and helped me realize that Jiu Jitsu is for everyone, regardless of size or experience. The instructors, patient and skilled, took the time to guide me through the Adult Super Basics class, always adapting techniques to suit my body type.

As the weeks went by, the changes were undeniable. The supportive atmosphere at Sampa pushed me to challenge myself in ways I never thought possible. The techniques, although initially intimidating, became more familiar and attainable with each class. More importantly, the friendships I forged on the mats fueled my determination to keep showing up.

What I love most about Sampa is their commitment to personal growth. They celebrated every milestone, whether it was executing a move well or shedding a few pounds. The positivity and camaraderie among the students makes me feel like I belong, and that means the world to me. My regular sparring partner and i push each other to our limits every time we have a match. When we are dead tired at the end of class, we often say, "this is what we came for!"

Fast forward, and I'm now down about 40 pounds from when i started 9 months ago, have significantly increased flexibility, and feeling more confident than ever. I am still very new and have much to learn, but i am excited for the road ahead!
