We have stayed at the El Rancho Motel many times and ALWAYS have a wonderful experience! The rooms are always very clean and comfortable. The owner is amazingly friendly and always happy to help us with any of our needs. We have recommended this motel to our family & friends, and they say the same thing! We can't wait for our next visit! You can't go wrong staying there!!

It is a great place to stay if you're just passing through or you're a very low-maintenance kind of person who wants a bed and quiet. The staff was nice and accommodating. It is a bit hidden from the main street, but it's very quiet. The rooms are simple, which I love! I will definitely stay here again!

Jason, Christina, and the entire crew are very friendly and work hard to provide a relaxing and enjoyable stay whether you are staying only one night or in our case, four nights. The beds are very comfortable and have plenty of pillows. We had a room with a kitchen that met all of our needs. We will be back for our annual fishing trip next Fall, or maybe sooner.

So there I was, traveling with the pup. We were originally going to camp but rain put a stop to that. Found this cool, pet friendly spot at an amazing rate. Small and cozy!

Walking distance to restaurants, the brewery, and felt like a safe neighborhood!

We stayed there three nights in April, 2017 and were very, very pleased with the room and service. We don't particularly care for stale, corporate motels where every room looks the same no matter what town you are in, so we always look for a local place with some character. When in Bishop (a great town to visit!), we WILL stay at the El Rancho again. The motel is about a block off the main drag, on a side street, so it was quiet at night. Bishop sees a lot of truck traffic, as it's on a main trucking corridor, but we were never bothered by traffic noise at all, even when sitting outside at the table in the patio area provided for guests. The room was clean and had a complete kitchen, full size refrigerator and gas stove complete with oven! And a full sized kitchen sink. It was more like a small studio apartment, and it was great. Plus the usual microwave and coffee pot, There was even dishes and cookware. The entire staff was friendly and personable, and would take the time to visit with us and tell us of the local attractions and hidden gems not found in the tour books, or just discuss the issues of the day. They were never intrusive but would make sure we were happy with the room and the amenities when we were outside coming or going. We had planed on staying maybe one or two nights, but had such a good time and great stay we extended our stay to 3 nights. Google may list the El Rancho as a 3 star motel, but we definitely had a 5 star experience!

This was an incredibly cute and clean motel . The managers were amazing and very accommodating to my dogs . The housekeepers were quick and thorough and super friendly. Rooms were adorable, hardwood floors and the decor reminded me more of an apartment than a motel room. I will be staying here in the future when I return.

Jason was an absolute savior and professional who went above and beyond to help us out. He was polite, helped us solve an important problem, and displayed wonderful follow through to ensure everything was perfect. Will stay here again.

Vintage motor court motel nicely updated with new fixtures and furnishings. Clean, fresh, spacious feel...room felt bigger than it actually was. Down comforter/silky smooth sheets. Fridge, microwave, and coffee maker with coffee, tea, sweeteners/creamer.

Walls a little thin, typical for the age of the building. Nothing they can do about that! They spaced guests out to minimize noise transfer. We slept quite soundly.

Our cell carrier was a little weak but using their free wifi instead fixed that issue.

Pretty decent room, warm, looked nice, got all the amenities you want for a quick or long stay. Grills outside with convenient ice chest. Plus I was sitting outside for a little bit just to hang out with the night sky and this little cat bro thought it would be fun to chill on my lap. Felt bad because I had to go to bed but was cool while it lasted!

Dainty cute room. Can tell owners care and are redecorating as able. Nice light green paint and simple artwork made for a peaceful night at a budget price. Shower super nice water pressure to wake up with.

Both Steve and his wife Crystal where great. We got checked in at 5:30ish perfect place to stay off the mountain. Very reasonable price room, wife a perfect location off the highway. Close to local coffee and bakery shop and an awesome local brewery. Crystal got us checked in with no problem. Steve provided is clean set of towels and the beds linens where very nice. Lots of hot water for showers after a long boarding day. We appreciated the hospitality and hope to return soon.
Thanks

I stayed here when I was on my way back from Yosemite. I was not in a big hurry and I was on my Harley so when I got tired and hot enough I started looking for a room. It is currently summer rates so you are going to pay $80-100 but there are some motels like the El Rancho that are very accommodating.

I was helped by Steve who manages this motel with his wife. They have a little attached apartment to the check in counter. Steve assured me that I could park my bike out in front of my room and he convinced me that both my bike and I were in a safe place.

Steve hooked me up in room 11 which is the left corner and it has a nice big king bed. I grabbed a shower and walked around the corner to grab some mexican food. By this time there were a few more cars in the motel but it was nice and quiet. I passed out and had a great nights sleep which is wall that I was looking for.

5 stars for hospitality and keep up the great work Steve!

Super simple & small, but great for the price. The TV gets good channels & isn't ridiculous to operate. There's a microwave & mini fridge. It's basic, but nice.

Really nice people, that were very helpful. For the price, the room was amazing. It was very clean (even under the bed and chairs). The bed was extremely comfortable. It was a great half way point to Reno, and will be making it a regular stop on my adventures.

We enjoyed a two room bungalow. Full range, refrigerator, microwave, and furnished with dishes, pots and pans. It was clean, bed was comfortable, shower was clean with bench for sitting but still enough room for a comfortable shower.

Don't be put off by the lackluster exterior; the rooms are very nice and clean and the staff is very attentive. They met our needs before we even asked them and were very attentive and hospitable throughout our stay. We were very pleased.

Our favorite places to stay in Bishop! The rooms are pretty nice and cozy. Room 3 is great with its included full kitchen (stove is included!) and small dining area as well. Staff is great and friendly, definitely not our last time here!
