Are you pregnant/postpartum? You need yoga with Annemaria! Annemaria’s classes have been an anchor of self care for me for nearly a year now, starting with her prenatal classes, then connected core series, and now in postnatal. Annemaria is deeply knowledgeable about the birthing body, and her classes leave me feeling so supported and strengthened in ways I can take with me into the rest of my day. I am so grateful to have found her at Green Yogi - Annemaria is magic!

I have been attending prenatal yoga classes with Annemaria for the past two months. It is the best thing I've done during my pregnancy, and I can't recommend her enough. The classes are great for all trimesters, teaching you how to relax and stretch your body in ways that alleviate any discomfort you might be experiencing. Annemaria emphasizes tuning into your own individual needs; once you're in a pose, she encourages you to move according to your body's intuition and explore how everything feels (which sounds simple, but really gives you the freedom to just feel and heal yourself). She also provides valuable education and advice on positioning and breathing techniques for labor.

I love this studio! They have such a great variety of classes and all of the teachers bring their unique wisdom. One of the first classes I took at this studio was with Vrinda Priti - her knowledge of yoga and it’s ancient intelligence kept me coming back to explore more classes. She offers on gentle but corrective hands on adjustments and her presence, like all the teachers at the green yogi, is wonderful to be around!

By far the best yoga studio in the Bay Area. Both Green Yogi locations have a great mix of styles, teachers, and formats that really work for every body. I started going to Pete's class weekly and now go almost daily with a mix of different teachers. I've noticed such a positive impact on my body and outlook on life. I love that I can take a strong practice with Susannah or slow down with Tina. What sets this studio apart is Pete and Naseim's emphasis on community. Whether you're a beginner stepping on the mat for the first time or have been practicing asanas all your life, this is the most welcoming, dynamic, and mindful studio you can find in the East Bay!

As a long-time member of Green Yogi MLK, it has been wonderful to see their expansion to the Telegraph location. They remodeled the prior yoga studio space beautifully- the multiple studios are gorgeous and a wonderful place for the sound bath offerings. The deep diverse yoga offerings are exciting and it is a great place to expand your practice and connect with people.

Green Yogi is more than a yoga studio, but a place to feel welcomed and embraced. I used to practice at this studio before the pandemic and as beautiful as it was, the new transformation is truly incredibly and both studios are by far the best in the Bay Area. I could not recommend them both more highly!

Hands down the best yoga studio in the bay area. With the best teachers! I drive 30 min each way to come to class 2x a week and its so worth it. Love Pete and Susannah's classes in particular!

My usual go-to studio in downtown Berkeley recently closed so I was on the hunt for a new studio and The Green Yogi did not disappoint! A beautiful space with two lovely studios and so many options for classes and instructors. Safe to say I found my new community!

When I heard that Nasiem, Green Yogi's owner, had taken over the old Yoga Tree Telegraph location, I was thrilled! I had taken classes there when it was Yoga Tree and loved the vibe of the studio and its central location. A lot of the old Yoga Tree and Namaste teachers now teach at Green Yogi so if you're a Berkeley/Oakland yoga devotee, you'll see quite a few familiar faces at this studio.

I live closer to the Green Yogi MLK location, so I'm usually there, but the Telegraph location is really great as well. With two studios, it's a lot more spacious and Green Yogi has retained a lot of the props and decor that were there when it was Yoga Tree. My current favorite teachers at Green Yogi Telegraph include:

Lucid: A mama bear if there ever was one! Lucid is so kind, warm, generous with her time and knowledge and amazingly creative. She has a wealth of knowledge about not just the physicality of yoga, but the philosophy too. She incorporates a fair amount of Eastern practices (meditation, chanting, various breathing techniques) into her classes which tends to the mind and heart as well as the body. I wish I could get to her class more! She's amazing!

Carly: I love that she starts her Jivamukti Flow classes with a community greeting, gratitude and (usually) some chanting. She plays the harmonium, which is so lovely. One of the best aspects of her teaching though is that she offers excellent hands-on assists (which I so appreciate after months of Covid-related lack of contact). They've really helped me find better alignment and more range of motion in my poses.

Sonya: Sonya offers masterful cuing and gorgeous demonstrations. As far as technical improvement, I've made significant gains in her class because she has an uncanny ability to pinpoint exactly what muscles to engage to move efficiently and get the most out of a pose. Her classes incorporate long flow sequences that always make me feel long and strong.

Odisa: Odisa is so talented at taking one concept (like twisting or extension) and building on it incrementally in increasingly challenging poses throughout class. She creates beautiful, long flow sequences that really home in on fundamental yoga concepts (but in new and interesting ways). I really love the energy and friendliness she brings to her class community as well.

Do check out Green Yogi Telegraph if you haven't already. It's a great studio with amazingly talented teachers!

I initially went to The Green Yogi to try out their classes using a really great new member discounted rate for 3 weeks. I fell in love with Carly’s jivamukti vinyasa flow class. Carly is so welcoming, has wonderful energy, and provides amazing hands on support throughout the class. I ended up continuing after my 3 weeks because I feel so great after each class!

Pete’s classes and him being part owner are reasons alone to come to TGY, but especially the Telegraph location. I also practice at the MLK location, but something so special about the energy of the Peacock Studio and Pete’s classes that have redefined yoga for me… and what it means to be inclusive in the yogi world… while keeping me coming back!! 🌈✨I also really love Carly!! 🥹🤗💗 She plays this really beautiful music when she teaches, and just resonates warmth, playfulness, kindness. Also wonderful at adjusting your poses!!! 🙋🏼‍♀🥲Some other favorites are Darlynn, Mario, Reba!! TGY team has cultivated such a lovingkindness vibe with their classes…. And I am pretty sensitive to voices, pace, and things like the way a teacher re(acts) when you enter class late (bc I often work late last minute, I’ve felt most the teachers react in a compassionate way at this studio). I think these are some very overlooked, energetically felt ways of being that could make or break your mood/your class that TGY has nailed down like no other studio I’ve done yoga with. 🧿

This yoga studio is like a warm loving home. The teacher are too notch, and the facility is spotless. It’s spacious and clean, and I always leave with that glow that comes from a great class.

This is a beautiful yoga studio that has some of the best yoga teachers I’ve practiced with over decades in the Bay Area.
