Broken Board Coffee

What a great concept! This coffee shop is located within a skateboard shop. You can’t ask for more interesting ambience! I had a mocha and it was pretty good. Definitely like to support local coffee places.

I came here to check out the coffee shop but also enjoyed looking around at the skateboards, backpacks and shoes they had. I tried the masala chai tea and it was really good. They also let my dog come in on a leash. So I was very appreciative of that. Will be back.

Top notch coffee shop! Very highly educated coffee professional. Learned a lot of interesting information about how coffee is produced. Found a coffee I actually enjoy without a ton of additives like sugar, cream, or the various chocolates and syrups.

100% Recommend stopping in and trying one of their specialty brews!

This place is a diamond in the rough. The East Towne Mall area is full of chains and Broken Board Coffee has excellent atmosphere, fantastic coffee, and friendly staff. It’s also in the middle of a local board shop that’s been around for nearly two decades. Check it out!

I loved this unique coffee shop. What a great idea to have coffee and a board shop in the same place! The coffee was also very delicious. I recommend the maple latte- one of my favorites. Staff was very friendly and asked if we had any questions, etc. The shop had a chill vibe, this will definitely be our go-to coffee shop stop when we’re driving through Madison!

The best coffee shop in the Madison area hands down. I’ve never had a drink here I didn’t like, even the more unconventional flavors I was initially unsure of were delicious. When in season, the sweet potato pie latte is a MUST. Otherwise, an iced london fog with oat milk with a vegan cinnamon roll is my go-to. I have an espresso machine at home and still go out of my way to come here often. This place is worth every penny, can’t recommend enough!!

We wondered how good a coffee bar inside of a skate shop could be, but when we walked in and saw the machine and prep tools, we knew we were going to have great coffee. I was so sure of it that I ordered an espresso shot as my first ever drink here. I have only done that one other time! It was excellent. We will stop again, my wife's cortado was spot on too. The day we went they were using Wonderstate coffee, which was where we went next...and were disappointed. So, Broken Board Coffee knows how to brew the coffee to perfection.

Staff is very friendly, explained their coffee products professionally and took the time to answer our questions. The coffee was great as was the latte. Will be going there every time I'm in the city.

I had a couple really good vegan donuts (baked, not yeasted and fried, but you can’t have everything) and a nondairy hot chocolate. The vanilla frosting liked to explode when it came in the contact with teeth. I had to carefully eat it over the plate so as not to lose the tasty shards. The chocolate frosting was softer and stayed put on its chosen donut. I sat outside at a little table in the morning shade to eat. Very friendly barista who chatted with me about the fantasy book I was holding. And the shop is inside a skateboard shop so it’s a unique atmosphere.

I’ve been coming to Broken Board from the very beginning; I stumbled upon it by accident and went in before the coffee shop opened. The owner, Jared, offered me a shot of espresso and I was immediately hooked! This is by far the best coffee shop I’ve been to. Everyone puts so much effort into each drink and always produce a quality product. Extra bonus points to all the vegan one of a kind baked goods🌱. Katy makes zee best London Fog ever; my go to drink! The atmosphere is super chill and it keeps you wanting to come back. A coffee shop inside a skate shop? #winning!

Amazing VEGAN donuts!! I had the churro donut, it was so good!! The chai tea was awesome too! And the selection of cool clothes, hats, and boards is incredibly big! I love this place!! Definitely worth a visit when going through Madison!! I’ll be back for sure! I’m in love with the vibe! I think if they had some chairs to lounge in and if it opened up to a small indoor skatepark, this would be the dream shop for any board sport enthusiast!

First visit but not my last. Best conversations with staff. Homemade baked goods and latte syrups. Surrounded by skateboards and such. Great atmosphere at any age.

DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED THERE WAS NOT A SKATEBOARD WITH DONUT WHEELS SOMEWHERE. I MEAN YOU SELL SKATEBOARDS AND YOU SELL DONUTS, IT SEEMS LIKE THE ONLY PLACE WHERE THIS MAKES SENSE maybe a sticker or something. everything else was great. Coffee was great,atmosphere was cool, and donuts were tasty.

Highly, highly recommend Broken Board. House made syrups including true vanilla, lavender, cardamom, and honey- I had the cardamom in a cold brew and let me tell you, this flavor changed my life. It tastes exactly like fresh ground cardamom smells! The cold brew itself was excellent as well. Similar to a well brewed tea, it was floral, fruity, and light with ZERO bitterness at all. I also grabbed some whole beans for use at home and the guy working (sorry, I didn't get your name!) recommended us some based on our setup. He showed a care and passion for the craft without being overbearing, which I love. This will probably be our new go to stop for honestly delicious coffee.

Rare to see a coffee shop rated 4.9, and the hype is true! We tried the espresso lemonade, and it was chef's kiss 🤌🏼 The cardamom latte was delish too!

Friendly service, easy vibe. I tried a Demonic Tonic: unusual cold concoction of coffee, tonic, fruity piquant flavors. It surprised me, woke me up. I liked it a lot. Spouse’s breve was nuanced and delicious. Highly recommend the whole place. Look for the skateboard shop.

As an employee, and a customer I can say this coffee shop is phenomenal. The owner is a genius, and puts perfection behind everything he creates. From the hand made syrups to the rotating roasters, you can truly taste the difference, and the quality. The overall aesthetic of the shop is relaxed and simple. Best coffee place in madison, hands down.
