Top-notch retail record store with eclectic items which also has bands play every Wednesday night. They have an excellent liquor/beer/wine selection to help you get your groove on. The manager generates a very positive energy which is reflected in her staff. Very enjoyable overall.

Always wanted to visit this store and finally had the chance. I could have wandered around all day. Absolutely packed in every corner with media and playback hardware.

I love going to the Record Archive!! They have so much stuff to check out. I Spent a couple of hours yesterday just looking around. Found some things I wanted to get. I brought some people with me. They haven't really been there, and that had purchased items they found. It was time well spent

The Record Archive offers a trove of popular and hard-to-find vinyl, and even some digital stuff if you're so inclined. Plan to spend at least an hour here. There is an abundance of great music on the shelves. And there are a LOT of shelves. And a bunch of music-related bric-a-brac, to boot. But wait, there's more! The Record Archive is also a fantastic live music venue with bands playing several times a week. If you want to get service, selection, and price so low, the Record Archive is the place to go.

Great place, atmosphere was awesome, thousands of records, old and new. Also sells some retro gaming devices. Nice lounge area. Mystery bags are really fun, not always the best picks $5 for 5 records. Or my personal favorite $5 for 15 singles. Overall awesome place.

Officially my new favorite store of all time. They have SO many records and sales/deals on some of them as well. You could probably find almost any album here, whether on vinyl or CD. The store is filled with gag gifts, knick knacks and stickers etc. that may or may not be unique merchandise for a musician. Additionally, they sell band and store merch with awesome designs for reasonable prices. I could’ve spent much longer, but unfortunately I had to leave after an hour of browsing. This most definitely a must-go in Rochester!!

My first trip...you don't know where to look first. They have so much in the way of new and older vinyl. They also have CDs, memorabilia, and a live music venue in the back. It won't be out last trip.

Their listening room/band rooms are really cozy. I went for the Ed Sheeran listening event. This is quite interesting since it was one of the few for the entire New York State.

Record Archives is such a unique and special store. It is gigantic for one and has every type of music well organized and categorized to make your showing experience easy and enjoyable. They have hilarious and unique gifts, toys, retro clothing and gifts and t-shirts for all ages. They have a stage with tons of comfortable tables, chairs, and stuffed chairs and couch seating. They do not charge a cover for any performance, but instead they pass a collection jar around to share with the guest performers. They have a bar and serve snacks and pizza slices so you can sit back, relax ,and enjoy. Another fun thing about Record Archive is the insanely fun decor everywhere. R A. also lets you trade in old cd's,records, and vhs tapes for store credit or cash This is a one of a kind store that you MUST experience. Check out the Record Archive. It is truly a jewel in the Rochester community.

Gone to the record archive for years, always has fun stuff!! But being arguably one of the biggest taylor swift fans in rochester means I ask the employees A LOT of questions about their stock (lol), but I am always treated with respect and accommodated with the best help i could ask for. Recently I came in search for a new turntable to upgrade from my suitcase player. I was looking for a player with a nice needle (preferably audio technicas needle) and I had the most wonderful conversation with stormy (I am pretty sure that was their name, if i’m wrong they are super cool and have pink hair). Stormy helped me with all of the specifics of the turntables they had in stock. Stormy also mentioned about how much they care about the swifties that come into the record archive. I mean, before we even started chatted they complimented my 1989 tv seagull necklace 🥹🥹 After I went back and forth on which player i should get, I decided to go big or go home and purchase the Crosley C62 turntable which included everything you need for a setup!! As if my experience yesterday couldn’t get any better, it most certainly did!! With the purchase of my turntable i received free stickers and a record archive t- shirt (of course i had to get the barbie one). These people here are great, i'm sure they know my cousin Bob as well who is here almost everyday. I appreciate and am so grateful for the patience and kindness these employees have for myself and my family (especially when i call in to inquire about vinyl and ask a million questions). 5 stars and will forever be 5 stars!! And stormy if you see this, next time i see i will have to bring you a TS friendship bracelet. ☺
