The management is very friendly and quick to answer any questions. The community events the Radius holds for its residents is also a great way to get to know other residents and the management in a fun environment.

Updating from my previous review this fall. Honestly was pretty bummed with this place by about October along with my roommates but after having posted a review and talked with management pretty much most of the issues that I mentioned have been addressed one way or another! Glad to see that they have continuously worked to improve the experience here! Still pretty nice apartments sometimes there is a maintenance issue here and there but the maintenance staff is super friendly and they seem to work pretty hard to be on time and get the job done right.. Has been an up and down experience with the security guards in different ways that people have talked about in the other reviews but I think the radius is currently taking the steps to fix that problem for everyone. Whether they hired new security or not I'm not sure, but I hope after their efforts the security is able to find a balance between way too strict and way too lenient in order to keep everyone happy. Overall pros: Two entrances, TV/nice furniture, straight shot to campus and multiple bus stops, pets allowed, easy rent payment, free food/promotions, decent lobby/common areas, friendly staff and responsive maintenance. Cons: have been some theft issues, sometimes seemingly unorganized management, beds could be nicer, slightly expensive, new but lower end appliances.
Ultimately I am not resigning due to a hike in rent cost and wanting to live in a house but I think the experience has been pretty good for my first year out of the dorms.

The apartment is nice. Good location and lots of nice people. Had a few issues in terms of getting gift cards that the Radius offered upon leasing, but the management team is working on it. Overall, not bad.

Edit from original:
For the 2018-2019 school year, I am paying a flat rate of $714 per month for a shared apartment. Starting in Fall 2019 through 2020, my same room will cost $839 per month. As for the whole apartment (5 person, 3 bed, 2 shared bath), we would be paying a collective $4351 per month.

This rent increase does not come with improvements in amenities, and if you ask me, I consider an 18% increase in rent to be taking advantage of broke college students.

The Radius is in a great location and providing furniture definitely makes life easier. It only gets 3 stars because communication regarding the contract was very confusing. I got the “Welcome” email before the email with a contract to sign. The result was being reassigned to a different unit. They are understaffed and the people who are there seem confused.

Cool place to live but a little pricey. Nice gym and decent location. Had some issues with Wifi, hot water, and package delivery on multiple occasions

Radius has been struggling a bit lately, but its an okay play! Staff is generally very friendly, but it is very noisy and gets trashed on the weekends. Maintenance is always quick to come but doesn't always fix the problems.

Pretty pricy and loud. Lots of nice people though and helpful staff

Decent apartment on campus for a relatively normal price for the area. You have to pay extra for leases over the Summer and the wi-fi would go out for DAYS at a time (during the school year when you need wi-fi!!!) with no explanation or communication from radius. It went down for >24 hours at least 4 times in one year, very frustrating. Hallways smell like trash. Hot water also went out for days at a time more than once.

I am a current UMN student and a resident of radius. This place is very pretty and the rooms are rather luxurious. You will, however, not get as good of a deal as you could elsewhere for the same price.
I paid for a shared room, and my roommate and I were placed in a bedroom that was about the size of a single occupancy bedroom. we did not have room for our belonging and had to downsize quite a bit. We explored other units and inquired with other residents of radius who were in dual occupancy bedrooms and noticed we were paying almost identical amounts to the students with larger dual occupancy bedrooms.
We also had appliances break regularly. In late october, our washer broke and wasn’t repaired until December 15th. It took three weeks to repair our microwave. One of the people in our unit was a Community Advisor, and she fought like crazy to get our appliances fixed, only to have them fixed well over a month later.
I am currently waiting for approval to buy out the remainder of my contract. It has taken quite some time to get back to me. The offices are pretty much useless, and the students who run the front desk are often left in the dark on a lot of information. The CAs and the students running the desk are understandably doing the best they can, and for that I appreciate them. Many of the maintenance staff left during the year, so there were long periods of appliances left in disrepair. All of the amenities shut down by 11pm too, and the hot tub is only open about 50% of the time. There are tanning beds in the apartment too, and residents are not allowed to use them.
Depending on your financial aid status, it may be more economical to find housing in places that are not owned by the university. I encourage you to do a very thorough search of housing and to begin your search as early as possible. You may find better living conditions too.

As I write this review, it is just past 3am on a cool night, maybe 50F, in early spring. All the windows in the unit have been open since early evening. The temperature inside of the apartment? 76F. I don’t understand it, but I have to conclude that there is some sort of mysterious heat source that is somehow putting heat into the apartment faster than it can be removed by 6 open windows. Energy is being consumed here to keep the apartment at a frankly uncomfortable temperature. You might think that there is some malfunction in the HVAC system of the building, which was also my first guess when we moved into the place seven months ago. From what I’ve heard, this is also not the first year that this has been an issue. So who is behind this? This is either an ignored maintenance issue or a conscious choice by the building manager. Either way they are wasting money and a lot of energy to keep the building at a sub optimal temperature.
