LOVED! It felt like we were in Oregon, tons of ferns, pines, and moss. About 1 mile away from the trail head it told us to take a side road (DONT DO IT) it’s meant for ATV and quads (I think). Just follow the road to the right, don’t take the left fork, they lead to the same place.

We had a great early afternoon hike through the lines and hardwoods. There a nice little trail that leads to the east branch of Wolf Creek too! Check it out. The 3 mile hike takes about an hour and includes some elevation changes, so be ready to hike up and down a little.

This is a beautiful 3-mile hiking trail out in the woods. It is mostly flat terrain with a few steeper hills. I would recommend wearing sturdy shoes! The fall colors are absolutely gorgeous here in Sep/Oct.

Very remote and deep in the woods so there was no road noise. Just us and nature. With that said since we hiked in summer the bugs were very prevalent. So bring your bug spray and even a mosquito net if you have one

It was late fall and the trail was not busy. I rode my fat tire on the fairly easy single track with a few steeper inclines/declines. Wonderful ride and experience through state forest.

We had the best time here! We went 4 mornings in a row while visiting Houghton Lake. Our dogs loved it. Not many places this untouched and secluded only 5 miles from a city. No bathroom present.

Beautiful heavily wooded trail. Hills that go as high as the tree tops. The trail has no benches or restrooms.

We had a super hike here today. We'll marked rustic loop path. Up and down and over many roots. Wet in spots some boardwalks over permanently wet areas. A great 3.1 or so mile walk.

This was great trail!! We had never been on it before. It's got hills and I love that the trail is only wide enough for one person to trek it. The views were beautiful!!! We are coming back when it's warmer out. Be prepared to run into 4 wheelers on the road and the road to it is not paved.

Not for the out of shape person. 3 miles seemed like 10 to this old gal!
Very narrow trail with many exposed roots on the path. I would recommend taking a small folding stool in case you need a rest as there are no stumps or fallen trees to rest on. It is a beautiful forest. Met several people taking their dogs for a hike. Nice trail for that.

Walked the trail at night. Fog, light rain, yapping coyotes.... I'd recommend it. There is a similar wilderness trail just past Pup Lake as you head out to Lost Twin Lakes.

Clean and exciting. A must return place. Be ready for a solid trail, about 3 miles long.Up hill and Down hill. Half way through you should be able to take a second route that wraps you back to the front. Makes it like 1.5 miles...ish.

Excellent! You won't be disappointed, especially if you enjoy a serene location with slightly moderate hills and varied scenery. At some points the trail is along high ridges next to the creek the runs near the path, but you'll also dip low into some wetland areas, too. Bridges are provided to cross those areas where it's too wet to walk, and plenty of wild life.

Used GPS to get there. The roads are all two tracks or Sandy dirt roads. Took my Fusion Hybrid it did just fine. Took us about an hour and half to do the trail. Nice scenic route

It was an awesome ride while it lasted... on the short side though (3 miles only). It has hills which makes for a great mountain/fat biking experiences.

Really cool hiking trail in a large state forest. No sounds of cars or people to be heard, serene unvarnished nature
