Dr. James M. Ulery Jr, MD

I have been going to Dr. Ulery for years to treat my psoriasis. He has always provided me with the best possible care and medicine allowed by my insurance. About 6 months ago, my psoriasis became very active and so uncomfortable to live with. Not only is it painful, but the itching is also unbearable at times. It also limits what clothes you wear due to the embarrassment it causes. When I went for my appointment on 12/7/23, Dr. Ulery and his assistant, Cindy, provided me with a sample of a new medicine that I take orally instead of the creams, ointments and foams, I'm used to. It was unbelievable how fast I noticed a relief. I was so excited until I found out that my insurance copay would be $850.00 per month! I don't know many people who can afford to pay that amount per month. I called and spoke to Cindy, and she was able to provide me with another month of the sample medication. Cindy then took it upon herself to work diligently to get me a 12-month supply of the medication. Because of Cindy, I started receiving the medication delivered to my home on a monthly basis. I went for my appointment yesterday and was excited to tell Cindy and show Dr. Ulery the results of the medication. I only have two very small active spots left after 4 months of taking the medication. It has been such a blessing. I can't thank Cindy enough for all her hard work in getting me this medication. It has been life changing. Of course, I also want to thank Dr. Ulery - you are so knowledgeable and have always been there to help me. And thank you to all of his office staff - they are all so kind and helpful - always willing to go above and beyond. Thank You!

I actually moved 3 hours from Dr. Ulery’s office and I still make the drive back to Monroe to see Dr. Ulery when I need to be seen by a dermatologist. He is professional and always puts the needs of his patients first. He is the best dermatologist a patient could ask for.

I have always been treated well by the office staff and medical support staff, as well. Dr. Ulery makes me feel like I'm a great patient. He does a thorough job, and is very gentle. I have recommended him to friends.

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Ulery! He is never in a hurry, always listens to my concerns, and makes me feel educated and comfortable with the treatment plan! His office staff always gets me in fast and has taken time to help me find affordable prescriptions! Very happy with my care!

I cannot understand the negative comments about this doctor and his staff! I recently became a patient there with several skin issues, and was very pleased with the office and the doctor. He patiently answered every concern I mentioned and told me what to do for each problem. He also recommended over the counter products (no "high priced prescriptions" mentioned in another review). The staff was very friendly, courteous and professional. My best friend has been a patient of Dr. Ulery for a few years and is totally pleased with the care he receives at the office.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ullery’s for many years. I have had many cases of skin cancer over the years and he has always been helpful and understanding. When I find a suspicious spot on my body, I know that his staff will get me an appointment within a couple of days. There’s no need to wait around when they know that you are worried about your health. The Dr. always takes the time to answer any questions and be friendly and personable.

First time visiting Dr. Ulery's office today and it was a great experience..... nice staff, on time, very good evaluation and follow up scheduled. Look forward to keeping Dr. Ulery for years to come!

Always treated me well

Really mean staff. Lots of signs with their rules, but no signs that are welcoming or friendly. Dr. struck me as arrogant and condescending.

This dr does not even deserve this star. He did a terrible job on my finances condition, left HUGE blisters had NO bed side manner and just chastised him for not coming sooner. Then when he asked to set up a payment plan they Said" yes but if you miss a payment you better believe we are sending it to collections" were the ladies exact words. Then he paid his payment and later got a bill from a collector. BEWARE THIS PLACE GET RECIEPTS!

I went in for an annual skin cancer check and he didn’t even have me remove any clothes! Only looked at my arms and face. In addition, staff was also very smug and unhelpful. Never again. This man is very condescending and rude and so is the staff. Very disappointed.
