Grey Gables Restaurant & Catering

Grey Gables was the perfect venue for our small wedding reception (32). We have become fast regulars here over this past year leading up to our event-the food quality is just amazing!
The staff was extremely professional and well-organized. Coordination and communication were top notch. Katie was great to work with. She always got back to us quickly and answered all of our questions. There was some confusion over it being a wedding reception and that is a different price than a private party dinner just FYI.
Katie met us at the venue and made sure that the room was set up just how we wanted it. We were allowed to bring in flowers and high top rented tables and our cake lady was allowed in early to set up.
Kenroy was our one and only server and everyone was BEYOND impressed with him!!!! He didn’t miss a beat-served all drinks, delicious bread and scones and salads, the main meals and did the cake service flawlessly and quickly. He was cheerful and outgoing with everyone and answered everyone’s questions with ease-I’m not kidding, you would think there were 5 people working our room-so many compliments on Kenroy!!!!!!
Also so many compliments on the amazing food quality, we chose prime rib, chicken Marsala and whitefish-everyone, no matter what they chose, enjoyed their meal thoroughly.
Highly recommend!!! We will be back soon!

One of my favorite restaurants anywhere.

The salmon is an incredible dish, as is the white fish. Wouldn’t recommend the walleye though. Pasta is delicious. Mushroom bisque is fantastic, and their desserts always taste homemade.

We came here for our 20th anniversary. What a beautiful place! Staff was absolutely amazing. We told our server that we wanted privacy and she gave us just that but still actually checked back periodically to make sure we did not need anything. The food was fabulous! It was plated beautifully! I just wish I could try everything on menu!

My husband and I had an amazing experience at Grey Gables! Everything from the food to the service was of superb quality.

The ambiance was cozy yet very classy, and we were greeted by a friendly hostess who escorted us to a perfect corner spot. Our server Ken was very friendly and helpful. He recommended the baked and stuffed white fish, so I ordered that and my husband ordered the stuffed Dover special. We also had some tasty scones and warm bread while we waited for our meals. We were both over the moon with our choices. I seriously wish I could go back in time to eat this meal for the first time again.

I had a sweet Riesling from the expansive selection of wines, and we finished up the night with a baked peach crisp with some ice cream. It was a perfect fancy date night, and we can’t wait to come back to visit!

Wow...You will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED...From the moment you walk in GG sells high end... the tables to the wine glasses.. I got king prime rib. It was cooked perfectly and one hell of a piece of meat. The wine menu was amazing the service second to none and the atmosphere was romantic. WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK

Definitely one of Northern Michigan's best restaurants especially if you love steak or local seafood like whitefish or walleye. They also have a great special for two, 6 days a week between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. the restaurant is a converted home so it has great ambiance, a bar and small banquet area.

Chose Grey Gables for our family to celebrate a milestone birthday. With a party of 16 adults and kids, they were the only location out of several contacted in the area to accept a reservation for a party that size.

The entire experience was outstanding. Though the restaurant was busy, we were seated at one table, our server was attentive, drinks, appetizers, and main dishes were all delicious. Most importantly, there were plenty of entree options for the kids, teenagers and adults.

Overall our family really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back.

One bit of advice, though the parking is free, it is on the street in a residential neighborhood so allow yourself time to find a spot during peak dining hours.

How did we not know about this place?! It’s been there since 1936 and we’ve visited Charlevoix numerous times.

It’s a gorgeous Victorian house with tons of dining area spread out in different rooms. It’s off the beaten track, so you have to know it’s there. We didn’t have a reservation on a weeknight in October.

Hubby and I each had the Broiled White Fish. Absolutely scrumptious!! I think I “yummed” out loud several times! The vegetable that came with it was broccoli, which I have trouble digesting. When the waiter asked what I could substitute, he said cauliflower, which is also difficult for me. I asked for a salad then , which he said they’d have to charge for. But later, he came back and said they could do beans at no charge. Done! I also had a Brandy Alexander, which was awesome. They have a huge wine list and decent beer list as well. We will be back!!!

We hired Grey Gables for our Castle Farms wedding for both catering and bartending. Their communication is awesome and Katie made sure to answer all our questions leading up to the big day. Doing a taste test to choose the menu was a fun experience and they are so open with any ideas you have and flexible with any dietary needs for your guests! Grey Gables is very experienced which makes the process so simple with well-organized information packets and great recommendations. The food was definitely a win as we got many compliments on it and the staff day of was incredibly sweet! They even made my husband and I an extra plate after they put the buffet away since we got busy hosting and didn’t each much of our meal. The bartenders also did an amazing job keeping up with everyone and even learning certain people’s orders so it was a breeze when they went up for another. They also take care of cutting your cake and boxing up any leftovers for you at the end of the night which was so appreciated! I would highly recommend Grey Gables' catering and bartending services for your event.

The calamari is amazing!!! The desserts divine. The cabbage veggie on the side was not that good, but other than that a great meal and great service! Be prepared to spend quite a bit for the entree, but it is delicious!

This place is out of this world!!! If you order the filet mignon it Will be the Best filet mignon you have ever eaten!! This place has a Victorian home setting, outstanding service this is probably the best meal I’ve had in my entire life!! Go there, you will Not be disappointed!!

We had a delicious dinner. I had the Norwegian salmon which was amazing and my wife had the chicken marsala which was farm fresh chicken and superb. Dessert was cream puff with ice cream topping. Excellent start to finish

Grey Gables catered our daughter’s wedding this past weekend and they hit it out of the park.
The whole process of booking them, having a tasting and all of the follow-up were on point.
The day of the wedding was stress free for me, because it was clear that Kelly Romano and Katie, her catering manager, were on top of it all.
They got the ceremony flipped to dinner seating effortlessly. The dinner was served efficiently and the guests raved.

We worked with Katie from the start and we are so thankful we did. Grey Gables Catering went above and beyond with their customer service the day of. I remember seeing Katie on the day of and she assured me she got it and she couldn’t have been more right. Very much recommend Grey Gables for any major event you have!

Grey Gables catered our wedding at Castle farms a few days ago and everything was AMAZING! Katie and her team knocked it out of the park and made our big day feel so special. Katie was always there when we needed her through the whole process and very easy to get in touch with. Our food at the wedding was the same when we did our tasting. Our guests were blown away by the food and the service. Her team at the bar were FANTASTIC and so professional with our guests! There was always a line at the bar and they worked so hard to keep our guests happy! We are forever grateful for Grey Gables & they will always be our go to spot when we are home visiting Charlevoix in the winter & summer times! THANK YOU!!

Grey Gables catered our wedding last weekend and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Katie was fantastic and communicated with me about everything and answered all of my silly questions that popped up. Our meal was phenomenal and tasted exactly like our tasting months prior. All of our guests were satisfied and won't stop talking about how great it was. They also saved us some of our passed appetizers and set them at our sweetheart table so we could enjoy them too. Grey Gables also bartended our wedding and they were fantastic and made sure everyone got the perfect drink. We truly appreciate everything they did for us!

Excellent meal. Everything from appetizer to dessert was good. Duck was so tender you could have ate it without teeth.

Grey Gables is one of my favorite up north restaurants. Always happy when we can get a reservation. Lovely place.

Perfectly paired menu items show just how thoughtful and brilliant the chef is. Fresh caught walleye pictured here with a shrimp, garlic, and spinach stuffing. The flakiness of the fish, with the crunch of the bredding, and the crispiness of the celery in the stuffing with the sauce was just beyond compare. You'll love it.

We used Grey Gables to cater our wedding and I cannot say enough good things about their service, staff and food. Katie was incredible to work with and responded promptly to all questions we had. She was wonderful the day of our event and even offered to get us new plates of hot food when we got distracted talking to guests at dinnertime. We also heard from our guests how delicious their meal was and we almost never had a line at the bar (which is pretty incredible for a 200 person event). So glad we worked with them!
