Tried the Vietnamese coffee and it was delicious! Had it with the cream and highly recommend it. Lots of space so seating is not a problem. The server has traveled to much of Asia, including Vietnam, and was very informative. I will definitely return for another brew.

I had the traditional coffee with condensed milk, the process reminded me of south indian filter coffee. Some of the coffee is sourced from Nguyen ( Brooklyn ) .
Open late on 3rd Thursdays & 2nd Tuesdays.

My first time at the Mortals cafe was this past August (2021). I forgot to leave my review — so doing so now!! I loved the aesthetic, energy and service here. The coffee was amazing as well. I’ve never had Vietnamese coffee before, and it was quite the treat. I have tried the ice Phin Ca Phe. It’s strong, rich, and has the perfect amount of sweetness. I look forward to coming back to study this winter semester! As well as attend one of the monthly The Mortels discussion on death. Thank you for introducing Vietnamese coffee culture to West Michigan!

Killer (no pun intended) coffee shop in the back of a shared workspace. Jesse was super helpful and knew the coffee well. Told us about local art show going on in town, and vibe was good. Check out this hidden gem.

• the size of the space allows for a large amount of seating without a cramped feeling
• genuine, kind, and quick service
• this cafe is unique in the way that it is death centric. the mission of this space is to create an atmosphere where people feel comfortable enough to discuss and come to terms with the idea and reality of death

Probably the best latte I've had in Grand Rapids! Love the coffee, love the atmosphere, love the service. 10/10 :)

The last time I was in here I had the best tea latte I've ever had and I've been thinking about it ever since (the Heart Beet Tea Latte). Wonderful atmosphere, comfortable seating, beautiful place. The owner/operator is lovely to chat with. A must-visit for anyone who likes tea, coffee, unique places, and community.

My favorite coffee shop in town. Great duck options and tasty monthly specials. Events held here are consistently unique and inclusive

I had a decaf coffee with oatmeal and it was absolutely fantastic. Strong and delicious coffee but not bitter. Love all the plants and cozy atmosphere…the building it is in is beautiful.

One of my favorite places in Grand Rapids! It’s one of the only places with Robusta coffee, giving the coffee a unique and incredible flavor.

A quiet space with great beverages and helpful staff. That it's also a community resource for discussion around death and dying makes this shop unique in it's dedication to nourishing both body and soul. Drink specials are inventive and bring attention to charity organizations. 5 stars across the board.

went to the grand opening and the service was great! my drink was taken by another customer by mistake and they were quick to make me another. super cute and tasty!

Had a really fantastic Vietnamese coffee here. Love that they have compostable takeaway cups. Love the spooky theme. Its really perfect for fall and the location is fantastic for a day out of record shopping.

Coffees and teas are great at The Mortals, and if you like drinking chocolates (not just another hot chocolate), you should not miss the oxblood.

By far, mu favorite coffee shop to go to. The drinks here are so tasty! My son is particularly fond of their drinking chocolate lol.

The Vietnamese coffee is wonderful! Great space to relax. They have tarot readings on Tuesdays!

Very quaint and mostly quiet atmosphere. I wish there were food options, but overall great experience!

Portions are a little smaller but make up for it in quality. Great study spot with lots of room.
