Great teachers and wonderful principal and office manager. Strongly recommend researching as an option for Kindergarten, 1st grade at the latest. Any time beyond may be unrealistic and a serious challenge for the child to adjust to the Japanese language curriculum along with balancing English work.

Disappointing decline in quality since it first opened in 2014. From 200 school days per year to now just 181, plus a new "no homework" policy. From 11 experienced bilingual-ed teachers to now just 5 native Japanese teachers, with a principal and half the staff with zero experience in Japan. The teachers work hard but are on a lower pay scale than the rest of the union/district; turnover is high.

This is not a great place to take your child too if they are African American. I sent my 5 year old there so that she could experience a new language and a new culture. Basically the teacher just gave my daughter work and did not explain it. They only spoke to her in Japanese and barely used English with her which is her native language. I was told that Japanese would be taught half of the day and English the other half of the day. My child started acting out because she was frustrated because no one was helping her with the work or explaining it to her. (I would be frustrated too). However she never had any problems at her previous school. The new school that she is at there have been no problems. Even when I told them she would not be returning they never even asked why. Usually teachers and principals ask why you are leaving and they try to get you to stay but not in this case. They only catered to the Caucasin and Japanese students. This is a horrible school for African American students to attend.
