Garside's Ice Cream

A hidden local treasure. Not that it is difficult to find - it's right on a main road, but you have to know to go down that road! 😀
They have a wonderful selection of delicious flavors. Tonight I enjoyed a scoop of the almond joy ice cream. Yummy!
It's a terrific local experience. Highly recommend.

Cool enough for a sweatshirt but warm enough for an ice cream. Garside's is a great stop to top off a beautiful day in the New England foliage! Mint chocolate chip, pumpkin pie with graham cracker crust, and apple pie with caramel sauce pictured.

Garside's Ice Cream has been doing ice cream right since 1955. They have about 25 different flavors and quite remarkably all are homemade. Normally during summer months you'll see a constant flow of people wanting to enjoy their homemade ice cream, and at times the lines can be a bit long. So you ask me, is it worth the wait? Believe me, yes it is!!!

I have happy memories here! My grandparents lived next door! Great people & awesome ice cream! Grandpa would always treat us to Garsides!

To die for! Definitely the BEST ice cream i have EVER had. I must've told my fiance a dozen times how fantastic my mint chocolate chip & chocolate was. If I lived here, I'd go at least once a week! See you next July 💗

Sooo gooood! I had grapenut. My wife had cookie dough candy. We go often on our bike rides.

Probably my #1 ice cream source in Maine. They deliver on the flavors they promise and, unlike other small places, they take cards. My only sadness is that they don't make their banana nut bread ice cream anymore.

Friendly staff. Great quality ice cream. They make their own. Expanded hours of operation. Good location.

Stopped by on the first day of the season for Garside's; ice cream was excellent as it has been for many years. Will be returning.

This lovely little iconic roadside ice cream stand is worth the stop. They make all their own and have a huge variety of flavors and some fun local ones, like Maine blueberry cheesecake. Huge portions too. It's a family- run business but was recently bought by another local woman and is run by her family now. You can read the story from the newspaper articles posted there.

Visited Garside's a few days ago with a large number of Harley Davidson owners group folks, Garsides was fast, and the ice cream & frappes were awesome & huge servings. Definitely going for a revisit.

They have the creamiest, most delicious ice cream in the world! Generous portion sizes, friendly staff, and great flavors. My family and I always make it a point to go to Garside’s on our annual beach trip to Old Orchard Beach.

Best icecream ever! The owner was there when i came in. She was willing to give me a taste of anything I wanted. Her version of maple syrup and cookie was amazing. Im addicted.

Always delicious fresh ice cream flavors, huge portions, and awesomely friendly college kids working the counters!

Edit: they take cards now (i have no idea how long ago that changed) but otherwise everything is the same: delicious flavorful ice cream with massive portions and super friendly and fast employees!

Local here, I disagree with the other reviews saying it's just a tourist spot and that the ice cream is subpar...the ice cream is delicious, and they have great flavors! Try the Maine Blueberry Cheesecake!

Stopped by for the much advertised Mocha Chip flavor today. The scrumptious ice cream along with friendly, and fast service made my day. Adorable ice cream shop with immaculate grounds and clean window area. Highly recommend frequent summer visits to this quaint, friendly, and yummy ice cream shop😋
