Randolph County State Recreation Area

Great place to camp. We primitive camped and with my husband being retired vet it was free. Everything is great except not having a shower house. Fishing is good here for catfish. They have Largemouth, Walleye, and tons of other species.

Very clean and pretty. Went here a month ago to view the eclipse. Only thing is I saw signs for a concession stand and never found it. Not sure if it's not there anymore or if I was just lost. Aside from that, great place!

One of the nicer Illinois state parks

It's a beautiful park. Roads are narrow. The pavilions are big and have lights. Park closes at 10:00 pm. I saw a sign for camping but we didn't look at the camp sites. We saw a lake and a concession stand. It was a great place for a birthday party or a reunion. There was water available and a small child's recreation area (swings and some other equipment) really close. Bathrooms are outhouse type but close by as well. There was electricity available as well. We had pavilion #1.

So peaceful and pretty. A very relaxing place to take a walk, especially in the spring and fall.

Inexpensive camping in a beautiful area. So quiet! Walking, hiking, close to town but far enough out you don't have the noise and lights. My dog enjoyed the trails and lake. Love this park.

Very beautiful place with a lake, camping areas, and lots of horseback riding and hiking trails! Kind of in a dicey (very conservative) area though - not sure how friendly people are to some people.

Saw this beautiful field of sunflowers on our drive into the Lake road.

Wildlife excellent especially whitetails top three hunting parks in Illinois fishing very good trout and crappie catch from the boat ramp at night on minnows mid-november to mid-December facilities no showers rated good scenery off the charts some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets I've ever seen

This place is great. Love it for the serenity. Always nice people there and the park staff leaves you alone. Wonderful hiking trails that aren't too long. Good fishing, trout if you can believe that!

It's very quiet here wasnt crowded when we went ... I wish they had a bath house for showers ... but they do have a place were you can fill up your camper or jugs.... my sons bike tire had a flat and we had no way of airing it up the staff were kind enough to air it up for us .. we love this place my kids always has someone to play with and I've noticed other parents or campers look out for them (kids)

Beautiful place to visit always clean and the concession stand has good food.it is dog friendly and has playgrounds and plenty of space for the chicken to run.

A hidden jewel here in a great place to live. Just don't want to get overrun by others looking for a little bit of heaven

It has lots of trails. It is beautiful to lay out on the dock at night 🌙 and look at the 🌙 and the stars. Great camping 🏕 and pavilions for parties. Good 🐟 fishing 🎣 spots.

My wife and I were married in this park at the waterfalls. Let me know when you find it! Great running and biking area. Many people camp here regularly!
