Mike's Music

Mike's let me rent for a very fair price while I was visiting for several weeks in Illinois. They had friendly kitties on staff, as well as very helpful & down to earth folks working there. Thank you for letting me practice and borrow the g'tar!

Might as well give a review even though I’ve never been to the store. Called the store, thinking it was In Dothan, Alabama. It was around closing time and I asked them to stay open later for me so I Purchase some cables. I pretty much called the wrong store Not knowing the store is located in Illinois. Five stars for staying open later for me and me not showing up Lol

Best music store in town. The moment you walk in you see their enormous inventory. Every inch of space is occupied by a guitar. If that isn't enough, your greeted by the friendliest staff and are instantly inducted into the Mike's Music family.

My 16yo likes to hang out in here a couple times a month. He is always greeted warmly, even if he only spends a few bucks on picks etc. I appreciate this! Much love from this family of music lovers ❤ 🎶

Nice small store with several varieties of stringed instruments and amps.
They also do affordable repairs on the same products, Great shop.

Mike is a fixture in the Carbondale scene but more than that, he genuinely cares about his customers. It doesn't matter if you are a real life rock star, a kid just starting out, or a ham-handin' guitar mucker who stumbles into bands now and again like me, you will always get love and respect from a man who has had a big hand in making Carbondale's music scene the absolute best in southern Illinois. Period.

Great spot. Been in business over 20 years same location. Nephew needed some drum sticks. They have a nice selection of guitars and can definitely meet your needs.

Are you kidding me? Greeted by 2 loving kitties, an angel of a doggie AND knowledgeable, friendly and passionate folks. In with both feet. We found our resource for all instrument needs forever. Thank you, all! Rock on!

Helpful and knowledgeable. I needed strings to fix an unusual instrument. Had everything completed in no time and very friendly help. They are great!

Mike and Darwin will take care of anything you need, and Dan will set up and maintain your instrument like no other. Super friendly and helpful people, great prices, and they even have a couple of cute and fluffy cats!

Super friendly and helpful, great atmosphere and they know the gear. Small shops are usually the best places to find instruments with character and personality while also the least likely places to have to over pay in some cases. 2 years after buying an acoustic with a broken nut for less than half retail value, without a scratch otherwise, the thing still plays with a toothpick as a replacement for the high E and B and still sounds amazing. I appreciate your honesty and business, hope you're all doing well and have been saving up to check out your bass selection. Thank you!

5 stars awesome service! We will be returning here. He stayed opened over an hour for us to make it there and took the time explaining and listening to my teenage daughter. She is on cloud nine! She can’t wait to show you what she learns in the future on her new guitar. Thanks again for making strangers happy!

I return here every so often to check out what he has on stock. One can frequently find good value here. Also does good repair work. Occasionally carries used Fender basses at great prices. I have friends who also like to shop here. This is a great place to have around.

Mike's music is the bee's knees!! I frequently shop there and Mike always takes care of me. I got my guitar worked on and Dan took care of my nut last minute. We have a show this weekend and Dan got it done in less than a day. They have a variety of instruments and many other musical things that musicians need. Dan fixed the nut, worked on the intonation, and lubed her up well. She's singing like a bird now. 5 stars all day!! 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠

Took a newly acquired guitar in for set-up and stringing. The whole staff were very inviting and genuinely interested in helping me out. I was introduced to a guitar tech by the name of Dan. He and I had a conversation about how I wanted the guitar set up, during which he listened intently to my preferences and concerns. He even made recommendations based on what I told him. I followed his advice and have to say he was spot on. I can say that I have no regrets and I am absolutely delighted with how well my guitar plays. Thank you everyone at Mike's!!!
