Great place to camp. Very peaceful, beautiful and very reasonable rates. Gets very busy on weekends so I recommend arriving on a weekday if you want a spot. We loved it and the little lake is beautiful

We enjoyed camping here this past weekend with friends. It was quiet and relaxing. The campground was clean and had a trail for us to explore. The restrooms in the campground were convenient. They also have a flushing restroom in the recreation area which is at the beginning of the campground.

Beautiful spot off the beaten track for camping. Right near the water. Paved walking track. Pier, you can fish off, feed the fish and ducks. We saw a family of 5 ducks. Flushing toilets and showers(cold only) at the day area. Non flushing toilets at the camp ground. Day area is a 2 minute walk from the camp ground, if that.

Beautiful small campground just inside the Bankhead National Forest. I only had one neighbor about 4 sites down. This was the perfect overnight stay on my way to Arkansas from Tennessee. Only $5 to camp and located along a watershed so plan for bugs. The sounds of nature were very peaceful. Each site has a grill fire pit and a picnic table with designated tent pads

Absolutely amazing campground with a variety of sites. I have been coming here for years and have always adored the peace and natural splendor that it affords. Perfect for a relaxing weekend or as base camp from which to embark on a grand adventure.

Beautiful area. All sorts of different spots to explore. There's a dam, a waterfall, huge rocky cliffs with natural cave areas to play in. Didn't want to leave.

We absolutely loved this place...the water was not working while we were there, but they were looking for the break in the line...bathrooms were satisfactory...very quiet and patrolled once a day by park authorities or local law enforcement...nice hiking trails and kayak access(beware if you climb the mountain...top is infested with ticks)but is a beautiful walk in the woods...snakes on the damn(dont let your kids play down there)

We love it and hope to be back one day...we put painted rocks all around the trails...so go find them and enjoy your time in this beautiful place...🧙‍♂

Stunning drive in and a clean, quite campground. Extremely dark with next to no light pollution made for a dreamy night sky. Camped in early November and only had a couple neighbors the whole time. We will be returning in the Spring.

My family and I camp here once a year in April. It's the best time to canoe the Brushy creek run; put in below the dam here, take out at the new bridge. There isn't a single place on earth that could offer a more beautiful scenery and good, quality family time than The Sipsey Wilderness. No power, no cell phones, tablets, pagers or other ridiculous electronics & gadgets. Just you, family and the great outdoors. If people would get off their phone's and out of the fantasy world we call the internet, they'd be surprised at what they could see if only they would stop to look around. Love, love, love this place!!

Great place to camp. It's self-pay, $5/night, cash only, just drop your cash in the box with the envelopes provided at the pay station. There are about a dozen sites for tents. Each has a level area boxed in with railroad ties for a tent, a picnic table, a fire pit, and a pole with a hook on it that I think is supposed to be for hanging a garbage bag to keep critters out. There are communal critter-proof garbage cans to throw away your trash, water spigots to share, and an out-house (men's and women's, TP provided but BYO hand sanitizer). The day use area has a bathroom with running water and picnic tables. The dock out into the lake is great, I saw people there catching fish (not just fishing, but actually catching), and the trail to the waterfall is easy, short (not more than a half mile), level, and beautiful. Highly recommend. Peaceful, beautiful, cheap, well-equiped, fun, overall awesome experience.

Brushy Lake was joy to camp at. It was far from everything civilized and each site offered privacy so enjoying was sounds of nature was not a challenge. The road to camp was twisty turny not unlike a roller coaster! Once in camp we found plenty of shade and well maintained sites.
