French Country Wines

I went in for my first and not the last experience to purchase wine. The staff was so friendly, and helpful with what I wanted. So I bought two bottles. Definitely my new place to buy wine.

Wonderful little French wine shop with free Saturday wine tastings. Can't find most of these wines at any other wine outlet in Houston as they are from smaller wineries in France. Knowledgeable proprietors and they know many of the winery owners personally! Must check this place out of you are in the area.

Wine tastings on Saturday from 12-6pm are a great way to test out between 5-7 different wines from all over France. Nice variety and reasonable prices per bottles (ranging from around $14-45/per), this is a great place to find some really nice wines.

First of all, this is a small family owned business, so don't expect fancy presentations and wine snobbery. Expect friendly, pleasant owners eagar to share their wares. The wines vary, but as the name implies, they specialize in simple, less well-known French country wines. Some may be a little too rustic or unrefined for those accustomed to Californian fruit bombs or wines with haughty place names, and they do sell higher priced/higher quality wines as well, but their focus is on small family owned wineries in rural France. I love the place. Try it; go with no preconceived expectations. Expeirience a little corner of France.

One of the coolest things to be found in Houston: the owners of FCW search out small wineries in France and import from them directly, saving you lots of money and bringing in wines that no one else in town has. Their selection isn't huge, but it covers most of the French regions and is carefully put together. They have six wines open every Saturday to taste before you buy. Owners and others there are passionate and very helpful.

Love this place! My fiancé and I go almost every Saturday for their free wine tastings. Great selection and the staff is always so kind.
