This is a fantastic experience for young and old alike. One learns about how medicine grew to be such an important part of our healthcare system including equipment that is truly antique grade.

The staff were friendly and helpful.
Would highly recommend this institution for anyone wanting to know how dentistry, medicine and pharma care benefits our society.

The collection of glass medicine bottles that line up the first floor is really impressive. There are several other unrelated items such as gramophones and an Edison sonograph which the lady played for us. Upstairs, you can find several rooms filled with medical-related equipment, furniture, and books dating to the late 1880s to 1940s.

What a wonderful suprise this museum was.
A beautiful building with original hardwood floors and a huge collection of artifacts literally wall to wall. The attendant Jeremiah was amazing and his passion for the place and the history of Cuero made for some wonderful stories and conversation. Spent a couple hours just enjoying the atmosohere and the interesting displays. Made a special trip here on our way to Victoria and did not disappoint.
No entry fee but donations are appreciated and they have a small gift section which helps fund the museum.

Found this place very fascinating. Drugstore seems frozen in time, from over 100 years ago. Has original drugs, soda fountains, record players, and all types of nostalgia. Price is free. Our guide (Jeremiah) was very helpful and informative, providing details on the old drugs, practices, and equipment on display in the store. You will learn some amazing cures that would be illegal or frightening today. Upstairs has old doctors and dentist offices.

You don't want to miss the massive, historical Texas-sized collection here! I am so glad it was suggested we visit. Shout out to Jeremiah, Museum Docent, he was a treasure trove of information and history. I felt smarter when I left ;) Thanks Jeremiah for a wonderful tour and visit. And RIP Joe B. Reuss, your incredible legacy is everlasting. Cuero itself is a great Texas town to visit, go there!

Very interesting, and the museum guide was very informative. The walls are filled with old bottles and contraptions of all sorts of delightfully questionable medical ilk. Old prescriptions, medical Coca-cola, bloodletting tools and the like. The upper floor is a work in progress, but the dentistry section still manages to be wonderfully horrible.

While we hunted unique ice cream shop at South Texas, we found Medical Museum is located in 123 years old pharmacy building. It's such a magic place full of thousand of antique artifacts!! Old couple who take care of this place are nice, Texas style folks with big heart. They told us a lot of stories.

What a treasure this little town has in this museum and it's museum manager. I am not sure how many days it will take to view it all! We had a brief amount of time, but will be back for a longer stay. Original buildings housing a museum are very few and this one is absolutely authentic!

The lady was so nice and gave a very detailed description on what each item was for how it was used and when it was used. She even turned on the old cylinder player for music for my daughter. It was a very pleasant and intriguing experience

We stopped here day after Christmas. Downtown itself has a lot of vacant and closed buildings and businesses. It was a delight however to find this Pharmacy and Medicine museum stuck in the middle of the downtown area which happened to be open. It has a history of medical memorabilia and paraphernalia. We were given a extensive tour of all the contents from a very knowledgeable guide who also happened to be a resident of the town. Lots of stuff to see and interesting stories including a whole section on medical quackery, ie, an elixir to make your ugly baby beautiful. This is a worthwhile stop if you have nothing else to do or you're passing through the town.
