You will love this charming hotel and its friendly staff. The atmosphere here is amazing. When you walk into The Commodore, it is like you're walking into a simpler time - only with modern amenities such as wifi and electric car chargers. Start the morning with the free continental breakfast, then off to enjoy your day! Get a pic with the statue of Minnie Pearl, then take a kayak trip on the Buffalo River, fish the Tennessee River, or hit the Natchez Trace Parkway for a scenic drive. In the evening, come back for dinner, and if you're lucky, you can catch some live music. Then, stroll into The Speakeasy for drinks or just sit outside, enjoy the view of the courthouse, and watch the cars go by. Head to your room and watch some Directv before you drift off to sleep in your cozy and comfortable bed. You can't help but enjoy your stay at this wonderful place.

Love, love, love the Commodore and the friendly people who own it and work there! Have stayed several times, visited for lunch, and attend the music concerts every Friday, which are phenomenal. Wonderful food is available, including salmon, burgers, tasty apps, etc. Sovy, the very friendly server, will take good care of you! There is a speakeasy on the other side with bartender Crystal who will make you a most exceptional martini. Check with the Commodore if you're planning on attending concerts in the fall, as they do discontinue those events at some point through the winter months. The lovely little town of Linden is so fortunate to have such a gem.

I loved this historic hotel! Check-in service was friendly and every other employee I encountered was lovely as well. The room was clean with comfortable beds, and included a mini fridge and microwave which were nice surprises. The cute little cafe and speakeasy that flank the lobby add to the cozy atmosphere. I would have loved more vegetarian/vegan options but with a grocery store right across the street it was not a big deal. I plan to come back and take advantage of their kayak service, what a perfect weekend escape!

We stayed in the Rockwell room, it was very spacious and loved the look of it. It had a little mini kitchenette with a 2 top stove . The workers were all very nice and helpful. Loved the 4 key code entry to your room, no key to have to keep up with or worry about getting deactivated. Will most definitely be going back.

We love the Linden area! The hotel attracted me because of its adorable Music Cafe! They have fresh-cut flowers on the tables daily and these amazing “Linden Chicken Strips.” Unfortunately, they are only open to the public for lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday. Still, I enjoy the old music and nostalgic feeling, and I’ve heard they have live evening entertainment and dinner on the weekend that is also open to the public. The Hotel owner Kathy was very hospitable and also owns a bed and breakfast in Clifton, TN, that my fiancée and I plan to visit for a future night away! I cannot wait to check it out! I Love the local hometown hospitality! With Natchez Trace and all the beautiful waterways you will find in the area; it’s a very lovely place to visit; I highly recommend it.

A clear display of true southern hospitality.

My husband and I stumbled across this quaint little hotel when we got an advertisement for their Nighttime Kayaking. We decided to stay the night following the event since we live a couple hours away.

First, the hotel was very quaint. It's a small hotel that was restored so it still shows signs of its age, but not in a bad way. You can see the history that lie within the walls. We stayed in Room 2 and unfortunately, we didn't see any ghost, but we had a nice little view of the main street. Getting the hot water was a little tricky, but there were clear instructions on how we can achieve it. The room was pleasant with no real complaints. The only "complaint" was the crack under the door was leaking light from the hallway, but we solved this easily with a towel that we stuffed underneath.

If you are visiting, we highly recommend the Nighttime Kayaking if you are looking for a slow-paced experience. We were pleasantly surprised to see how involved everyone was in the whole process from arriving to the hotel to completely the event. A bigger surprise was the fact that the owner, Michael, was the one leading the kayaking event. We appreciated that he was leading us to the site and dropped us off. It’s rare these days to see an owner be very hands on for their guest, so again, we were pleasantly surprised.

The kayaking was very relaxing. The tour was led by Luke, who was one of the most ecstatic tour guides we’ve had. In talking with him, we can see his excitement to make the experience a very good one. Luke is a former night time lighting technician who decided to leave the hustle and bustle of Florida to come work this slow-paced kayaking. It’s a 180, but you can see how passionate he is about making Nighttime Kayaking a more elevated experience. Luke never faulted on ensuring we had a fun time. He took time to point out some interesting landmarks, took us along the banks to explore some areas, and he was always encouraging us to place our kayaks at certain areas for a photo-op moment. Although not the best photos, granted it’s very hard to keep a steady hand while kayaking, but we greatly appreciated him wanting to ensure we had memories to take home with us. At the end of the night, Luke dazzled us with a light display. It’s still a “work in progress”, but it was very peaceful to watch the lights amongst the dark night.

We cannot forget the General Manager, Haley who was there the entire time as well. Haley drove the van down to the site and drove us to the drop off location. She also provided us a very filling meal of chicken wraps and chips. There was water that was provided and we ended the night with smores that were provided as well. Haley made sure that not only the hotel was taken care of, but she ensures that we were taking well care of as well.

At the end of the experience, we ended up spending the night around a fire, speaking with all those we mentioned above. We cannot describe how they made us feel. We felt as if we were sitting around a fire talking amongst old friends. The combination of the experience, with Michael, Luke, and Haley, gave us the best experience we could ever ask for. We have never seen a clearer display of southern hospitality. Everything was easy-going, calm, and just pleasant. We loved how hands-on everyone was from the beginning to the end. If you are looking for a more commercialized experience, do not come here. Embrace the quite that this town has to offer. There are some amazing people in this town. We will definitely be coming back to experience what else it has to offer.

Dinner and music at the Commodore Hotel Speak Easy. The old bar was quaint and old and you could smell the old alcohol stains. Just a lovely place and excellent management and staff. Easy to talk and joke with. The music was in the cafe and it was excellent. The food was great too. I will be back for sure. Lots of character.

We can’t say enough about how Friendly, warm and accommodating the staff was , Kathy went above and beyond for us, the hotel is nostalgic and the building has such history, feels more like a bread and breakfast, the guests that are drawn here were all really delightful. Will definitely be back!

In this tiny idyllic town you'd never know was here, this hotel is a hidden gem full of history. We were super comfortable in our room with two double beds and our own air conditioner that we were able to control. The manager, Alex, was incredibly accommodating the whole stay. We woke up to a wonderful continental breakfast that comes with a weeknight stay. He made my daughter her own waffle right on the spot and there was delicious fruit infused water that we couldn't get enough of. The food was super fresh and delicious. If you are travelling through I highly recommend this spot.

The Commodore is the only game in town. I can't imagine there was any "Night Life" prior to the new friendly owners taking possession of this historic hotel. Transformed it into a comfortable clean, warm and welcoming destination. They have a small restaurant on one side of the main building and on the other side a small cozy bar with soft atmospheric lighting where you can keep the conversation going after dinner. On the weekends you might want to return to the restaurant so you can take in the live entertainment. If you choose to stay put you still have the opportunity to hear the live entertainment with a Wi-Fi speaker set up in the bar area. No matter what you choose you can't go wrong.
If you planned on making it a special weekend then you can't go wrong with the accomodations that the Commodore can provide. After a full night of wining and dining and taking in the live entertainment then you can leave all your worries behind by just walking upstairs to your comfortable clean hotel room. Why take the chance of ruining the perfect night by driving or going anywhere else. Wake up in the morning refreshed and step outside and support the small local businesses that line the small quaint town of Linden. There's so much to do with all the local eateries and shops just steps away from the Commodore.
We loved the atmosphere so much we purchased a home nearby. We stayed at the hotel while house hunting during the day. After a long day it was comforting to unwind downstairs and anything we wanted specifically we could get by walking down the street to the local Food Giant.
My wife and I enjoyed our time in this special little hotel and I am pretty sure you will too.
I hope you find this review informative and useful.
Take care and enjoy,
Paul

Had a wonderful time, the hosts were super gracious. The kayak trip was so relaxing and the live music in both the dining room (Fri) and Speak Easy (Sat) made for a very enjoyable evening.

Needed a place to lay my head down for the night after a rough drive and this hidden gem was way more than i ever expected and much better than anything around.
First off, The staff was super friendly. I never get the service they gave me right off the bat.
The room i was given was neat and clean, spacious, and feels like you're at home. Wifi worked great. The bed was large and very soft. I booked a reservation elsewhere but i was a day early, wish i would have just booked a week here instead!

We were on a several state trip. We look for a place that has good clean rooms, reasonably priced and facilities to eat and socialize without moving around. This hotel fit the requirements and was everything as advertised. We had a great time listening to music, good food, and company. Service was great and staff accommodated all needs. I would recommend this place for travelers looking for a quaint refreshing place to stay.

We have stayed here a few times and it's consistently been a great experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, the accommodations are very nice and clean. There is live music, supper and drinks available to guests and the public on Friday nights and they do a great job providing for everyone. We look forward to being back soon.

A step back in time and a very relaxing, unhurried atmosphere! My wife and I were captivated and very pleased with our accommodation at the Commodore Hotel! Our hosts treated us like honored guests and took every opportunity to show us 'uptown' service. If one is looking for the Peabody (Memphis) or the Hermitage (Nashville) perhaps that what you desire...the Commodore was a wonderful experience! We celebrated our anniversary and made great memories in Linden TN. Everyone we met was so kind...
Highly recommended...looking forward to return visit in spring!
