Onslow County Parks: Stump Sound Park

This is a nice little park with numerous things to do. There's tennis, basketball, volleyball, softball/baseball, a play area for kids, a hiking trail and Frisbee golf. There are also bathrooms and picnic tables on site.
If you play Pokemon Go, it also has a good number of Pokestops, two gyms, and several routes to walk.
It's peaceful and has never been too busy when I've gone. It's a great place to walk your dogs as well. I'm thankful that we have a nice little park in this area!

The portion of the park we utilized was the front pavilion which has the "tot lot" playground. We didn't get a chance to reserve the pavilion for our daughter's 3rd birthday (no worries, we have it for 3 weeks from now). However, the people that are currently at the pavilion have been here longer than we have been at the playground, and another person came to use the pavilion but couldn't because the current people won't leave the pavilion. Be aware, people may not have respect for others whom also have birthdays on the same day. It's been almost four hours. It's windy, and now this other child and her family have to sit where the wind is blowing. Otherwise...the park is clean and mostly peaceful. I mean, there are a lot of happy kids here, and to me that is peaceful. Happy kids are beautiful. I do recommend using this park for birthday parties, but make sure you reserve for your party.

Great park. Very well-manicured. Lots of space for sports, parties, and other outdoor events.

Lovely fenced playground with a good variety of equipment. There are some shaded picnic tables under the trees outside the fence. Also a water fountain and bathroom right next to the playground area. Kids will get a bit sandy and it's a great place for sand toys. No shade on the playground on a sunny day but quite pleasant when it's cloudy and ample parking available.

A fun place to have a child’s birthday party, go for a hike, or play sports. Staff is communicative and friendly and park is always clean.

Fun park with lots to do. You can go to play basketball, tennis, baseball, softball, t-ball, play on the playground or just walk around. I love that the park is dog-friendly as well!

Was there to watch my grandson's t-ball game. The park was well maintained, the facilities were in good working order and plenty of parking.

This place is great because not only does it have a lot of baseball and soccer fields and playgrounds and a batting cage (one you need to pitch to a batter, no pitching machine) but most importantly it's well kept up with. The baseball fields dirt is combed and the grass is well kept. You don't get any sense of things being missed or cheaped out on. Highly recommend!

Great local park! We come here every so often so the kiddo can play on the playground. We came today for the Food Truck Roundup and Easter Egg hunt. What a wonderful event, and a great turnout! We certainly hope to see more events like this!

Beautiful park with many different areas of interest. Disc golf, volleyball, horseshoes, baseball, soccer, gigantic playground, several restrooms, nice trail for dog walking.

This is a well maintained park. There are two playground areas, one for older kids and one for younger kids. There is also a couple of walking trails, a few tennis courts, a basketball court, and some baseball fields. It is a nice sized park and good for some fun with the kids.

Love this Park. Well maintained with several different things to do. You can also borrow equipment for tennis, basketball, etc. Pokemon go stupid and gyms here at well. Gated and closed at sunset during the warmer months and then at 5pm during off season.

Trails, park for kids to play at (2 different ones, one is smaller), tennis and much more to do. Great for picnics and family/friends time!

Park is kept up in all aspects ad is a tremendous asset to the community!

Nothing special just a nice place to go hang and walk the trails. They have a new disc golf course too!
