Smoky Tony's Bbq

Liked this place a lot. Every person we spoke with was super friendly. The wings were delicious. The ribs were a bit dry but still fall off the bone. The brisket was great - husband said it was a little fatty, but that's how I like it. The collard greens were some of the best I've ever had. Sauces were okay. They were out of banana pudding which made me sad.

Needed a quick stop on our way to North Topsail and pulled into this place and had some awesome hush puppies and bbq. Quick service and delicious food. Several sauces to choose from.

I was in the area rather randomly and a quick Google search found this place. These queso fries were so, so good. The brisket was flavorful, although I sort of wish you were given the option of learn or moist as the fat (which is arguably the best part) wasn't something I necessarily wanted much of but it was still delicious nonetheless.

Food is so delicious! In Hawaii we would say UNO when it taste so good. The hush puppies is a must have. I didn’t expect it to taste the way it did. So delicious. And the baby back ribs.. OMG! It is amazing! The Brisket is tasty as well. I also had the collard greens and Brunswick stew. All deliciously made. I would definitely come back here again and again.

This place is awesome 😎 💯 like awesome. Great food amazing atmosphere, sauces for every taste you have, huge menu, awesome staff, fast service. FIVE STARS all around. Amazing BBQ food from the brisket to the chicken. Mac and Cheese is really good. The queso fries with brisket are great as well. Brisket in my opinion is a much try. Cole slaw is amazing too. Tony, the owner, really cares about the customers and will sometimes even come out to your table to ask how everything is. I definitely recommend going here. Best BBQ in the area.

Service and food were absolutely 💯 % BONAFIDE! The ribs were meaty and fall off the bone tender,collards,green beans, mac and cheese and hush puppies were amazing! We were waited on by Gabrielle who was not only beautiful but very friendly and courteous keeping our water and table ready! Tony the owner swung by our table and greeted us, very nice guy and humble too...don't miss this gem while in the area, serves breakfast too!

Our dinner was outstanding. My dad lives locally here in Topsail and has been here multiple times before but tonight’s rack of ribs and mac were exactly what we were looking for.
Service was quick, portions were perfect and the collards are the best we’ve had in all of SE NC. The mac could have been served a touch warmer in temp but if that’s the only area for opportunity, we’re in really good shape. Chef/owner Tony really knows what he’s doing in the kitchen and came by to introduce himself personally which is always a lovely touch.
Don’t you dare leave without a slice of cheesecake either.

My wife and I travel to North Topsail Beach 2-3 times a year and have passed Smoky Tony's several times and never had time to stop. However, this trip we did make the time to go and boy are we glad that we did! It was amazing! I had the pulled pork, ribs, collard greens, BBQ beans and the Brunswick stew while my wife had the Brunswick stew and the Brisket grilled cheese sandwich. We also had some of the smoked wings. Everything had immense flavor and was on point. I like my sauces and they had a few to choose from on the table. Our server was fantastic and we also were honored to meet Tony and his wife both. Fantastic place, fantastic people and fantastic food! Highly recommend this place. Locals, keep it going in the off season for those of us that don't live here full-time!

Easily the best food in the area! Through dining in or take out we’ve tried almost everything on the menu and it is all excellent. Everyone who works there is so friendly. The service and quality of the food blows everything in the surrounding area out of the water. 10/10 restaurant.

Very very delicious pulled pork barbecue phenomenal slaw and some really good mac and cheese just not enough of it. I will be going back there again and would recommend them to anyone who hasn't tried them. There is standing room Ovation every time you go that speaks for itself. I found them on my way to Southport Hospital in the Wilmington area.

Our waitress, Jorie, was super friendly and welcoming on our first visit.
We had been considering using this restaurant for catering our upcoming wedding, and after our visit today, that is a Definite! The brisket, pulled pork and smoked turkey were delicious!
The potato salad is perfect, as well as the slaw.
And, instead of a Wedding cake, I think I am just going to serve their homemade banana pudding!

This place is sooo good! The ribs and brisket were just amazing! So tender and delicious. The collards are also worth mentioning. Some of the best I have ever had and I grew up in the south so I know collards. They make everything homemade. Sauces and all and you can tell. The staff was very friendly and Tony even came to our table to check on us. The restaurant is very clean and inviting! We will def be coming here again soon.

Smokey Tony's is a legit BBQ joint on Highway 17. The dining area is large and clean. The BBQ is the best in the area. Get the pulled pork or brisket and You'll leave happy. Their sauces are good too. I loved the original and white bbq sauce. I mixed them together and it was amazing! You do not need sauce for the meats but they were still good
And complimented them nicely. The slaw was a little dry for my liking but was still good. Check out Smokey Tony's!

This was a great place to eat! My uncle and I stopped in as we were passing through and we both really enjoyed it. I had the carnivore queso fries off the appetizer menu and they were perfect! We had Amber as a waitress and she was easily the best waitress I've ever had! Even if the food wasn't that good I'd still go back just to see her.

What an amazing experience this evening. Food was outstanding. Service was awesome. The owner came out to thank us for being there. Some of the best BBQ I've ever eaten. We will be back.

Great Spot! Feels like home. The BBQ is great i had the pulled pork, burnt ends and mac and cheese. I can quickly tell if a bbq place is good by the sweet tea and the sweet tea was delicious. Staff was friendly and welcoming, definitely would return

Finally stopped here a couple weeks back. Expectations were a little grounded seeing it rated 4.4 stars. I ordered the Queso burger and my wife ordered the brisket combo. Both of them were amazing. Brisket crumbled in the fork it was smoked perfectly. Best brisket I’ve had in my 8 years in ENC. Queso burger was excellent as well. Queso had great flavor and perfect consistency.

Servers were very attentive and had refills at the table before the first drink was gone.

Food here is so much better than the 4.4 it currently has. Will make this place a stop every time we’re passing through to Wilmington

We stopped in from out of town to eat some BBQ. The moment we sat down, the owner greeted us, and then we had an amazing server, Amber. The food and service were great! We tried the ribs, brisket, loaded Mac n Cheese, grilled cheese with brisket, fried pickles and the queso fries with brisket and loved it all. Great atmosphere, food and customer service... we will definitely go back

Stopped here for a late lunch on a Monday - the staff was amazing, as was the food.

Looking at the timestamps on my photos, it took exactly 9 minutes from the time I got out of my car, to have the delicious lunch plate in front of me (most of that time was wasted by me trying to decide what to order heh..heh..).

I highly recommend this restaurant.
