Union Grove Baptist Church

sad and a church at that. I learn a few years back that church's is full of it. We can learn about god outside a church, we can donate to where ever we like and it doesn't go toward the preachers next vacation. These people in this church should bow down and pray for the good lord's healing touch.Don't see how any of the members that had a helping hand in this can hold up their head in public. HOW MANY SAY THEY ARE CHRISTAN FOLKS? Don't lie, a lie is a sin remember that.

How is everyone jumping on the condemnation bandwagon about this little church? How do we know if this 103 year old lady wasn't completely disruptive by yelling out :"uh uh DAT ain't true" .." No no, ya'll got DAT wrong". We dont KNOW what her behavior was. Maybe she was a vicious gossip.
Maybe she yelled at the kids, maybe she just constantly critized everybody in the church. Point is, we don't know WHAT went on. We just know that something or MANY things she did, that the members don't want her and her antics in their fellowship.

UPDATE (December, 2018)
The current pastor is Rev. Marvin Laborn. He is working hard to turn things around for Union Grove. He has a wonderful family, and together, they are slowly but surely reviving the spirit of the church and congregation.

I finally had a chance to meet Pastor Laborn when Union Grove partnered with Jim-Ree Museum to produce a Kwanzaa Celebration. Let me tell you, it was a wonderful program with a great turn out from the community! Pastor Laborn even shared a demonstration of Hambone - which some of you may remember from back in the day!

Pastor Laborn really has a great energy and youthful spirit. He is very supportive of education, youth outreach, and innovation. I'm looking forward to more great things to come!

I do hope the community will support new efforts to rebuild the membership and revive the congregation on a more solid foundation.

The pastor who attempted to oust Mrs. Biggs has since been removed. No church will hire him and no one will follow him.

My great-aunt Genora Biggs is doing just fine! She turned 107 this year and her faith is strong!

I read about you guys online as did the world and would like to say I support you. I think people today are very quick to judge. And apparently this old lady is angry and went to the media to bash you guys but no one- not one person took the time to get your side of the story. I have learned enough in this life to know there are always two side to a pancake and feel there may have been a very justified reason this woman could no longer attend this church. I wanted to express my grief for the rest of its members who are being thrown under the bus by everyone on the internet without knowing the whole story and pray for every person who passed judgement on a situation they know nothing about.

God Bless Genora Hamm Biggs! I pray many more will rise up in these times! God's protection and blessings on this church. I pray that the church continue to preach from God's Holy Bible.

The church members are very nice and friendly. The minister is a man of God and preaches from the bible.

Have yall lost yalls minds? This woman has been a member of this church since she was a 11 years old and because she disagrees with the pastor she has been banned!!!!!!! The Word says to feed the sheep not to kick them out. So basically it's about the pastor and not about God at all. As church elders where are you at in defense of this life long member. Oh I see it's a case of the blind leading the blind so y'all just following behind the pastor. Well you need to have the pastor show you were it says to kick out the widow woman, because I sure can not find it in my bible.

What is your reasoning behind banning a woman who has attended the church for so many decades?! Jesus was a man of peace, but I bet he'd kick your ass for doing something like that!

Should be ashamed for 1) flopping around and hollering like animals and 2) kicking out a 103 year old woman who has been a member since she was 11 years old for complaining about it.

You should kick your preacher out, and yourselves while you're at it. Does it not say to take care of the widows and the elderly in the book you supposedly follow? Did Christ not shame the Pharisees for the self same thing you did to this poor old woman by kicking her out and then calling the police on her when she showed up?!? She's warning you against the turn in which you are taking. The turn to fakeness and money-grubbing prosperity doctrine. They shake and roll all around on the floor and beg for more money.

I think the elderly know a bad church or a bad situation when they see it. You, as a church, should pay attention to your elders and what they tell you is wrong with what they are seeing. You have a snake leading you astray and instead of listening to people who built your church you condemn them. See, this is why the modern church is filled with Satan and not Christ. This is why people are turning their backs on the church and not looking back.

What a day of sorrow for the Lord. Please stop pretending to worship the Lord. What your doing to a 103 year old woman is shameful for you and so displeasing to the Lord. See its churches like this that turn people AWAY from God. You are not a Godly church and your pastor is not a Godly man. I don't care what you think she did...she is 103 for crying out loud. She has MORE than earned her right to speak her mind. Obviously she was correct in saying the pastor was trying to change the religion...I am a Baptist and we would shower her with love..not the HATE that this church is spewing.

Here is what you do... build a church next door... everyone go to that. If the pastor wants to preach to himself in a church without lights on like you left that 103 year old lady... so be it. There is NO way in the world there should be a single person in those pews who calls himself or herself a Christian, because if you sit down in those pews, somebody is lying.

Pathetic. This woman has been attending this church for over 90 years... For any members of this church who may be reading this, and did nothing, I ask you this.. Why did you not get up and leave the service in protest. What this guy did was wrong..wrong.. WRONG! But... you sat there. You did nothing. You sat silently and said nothing. You too, should be ashamed of yourselves. I used to work maintenance at a nearby church, and I saw a lot of fake people coming in and out of there, so I know your type. Rest assured that you are LIKELY NOT going to heaven. You too have perceived church as a place of business, and not worship. It's all just a front you put on to convince yourselves that you are good people, and maybe some of you are, but not most. As an former employee of a church, all I seemed to hear about in the church offices was money, funding, balancing the books, and very little, if any about the Lord, or members. I too stayed silent about things I overheard. I KNOW I'm not ever getting into heaven, so it's go big or go home at this point for me. By the way, I was laid off due to budget cuts of the church so that they may construct a 40000 dollar sign. I know your type as I said.
I recommend all members throw this guy out of the church....now. He's a fake. He is doing the devils work. If you follow him, he will lead you to the gates of hell where even despair dies. Ask yourselves this.. Why did the police refuse to get involved? Shouldn't that have tipped you off a little? You call yourselves Christians. You're not.. trust me.
