I recently needed help with permitting and portal navigation. Erin at the Building Department was more than polite and helpful over the phone. My experience was nothing short of outstanding, from start to finish. Erin was courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient in handling my inquiries and Kevin the Inspector was more than accommodating and a pleasure to speak with. They took the time to listen attentively to my concerns and provided clear, concise answers to all my questions. I am grateful for the exceptional experience they provided.

I see the comments about attitude and poor customer service, but it seems that some people have too much pride. I live in, and place permit applications with this department frequently. Occasionally, mistakes are made and they are always willing to help. When I can't get the answers I need quickly enough through email or phone messages, I visit in person and they are kind and respectful while I'm there. They are only trying to help and because they don't give the answer you want, it does not reflect rudeness or unwillingness to aid.

This building department their staff is super friendly and helpful. People seems to not understand building regulations. And provably that's why they dont have a good experience but if you ask they right way they will guide you through the process of permiting in royal palm beach

I have nothing, but positive feedback for the Royal Palm Bldg Dept. Yes it's taken me about 4 months to get a permit for pavers (because of me though), but I'm a pro now at using their website for sure. Yes it's not the easiest to navigate, but you have to try and you will make mistakes, but they will help you correct them and guide on how to use the website. I'm finally getting to the finish line, but they have been very helpful all the way through. You have to understand they are busy busy taking calls. Just be patient with them. Go to their office if you don't understand them. They will help you!

City of Royal Palm Beach please do better when hiring your staff.

If you’re not happy with what you do for a living please find yourself a career that best suits you because obviously your position handles with a large amount of customer service.

I called this morning at 9:10 AM to find out a timeframe of a new tenant inspection & this individual who answered the phone was very rude & told me you’re supposed to call before 8:30 now I can’t give you a time. That would work perfect if you guys would advise to call at that time when scheduling which never occurred. I then proceed & ask if I can reschedule or if theirs any other way we can go towards this since no one is actively at the location & she proceeds with “ I have already told you we can’t.. “. Very rude & unprofessional I receive better service at McDonalds with all honesty.

I’m not the type to write reviews but I’m very upset with the rudeness of this individual, that’s not how you speak to a customer.

Just like most Palm Beach building departments the staff here has a horrible attitude. Have fun navigating the website to figure out everything you need for your permit, because the staff at the Building Department will either respond with attitude because you aren't familiar with their system or just disregard when the CORRECT documents are sent, simply because you sent the Application Number instead of the Permit Number. (I pull permits through multiple counties and get nasty attitudes from many palm beach county building department staff, This one included)

Josephine Needs additional training in speaking with customers. Its literally your job, don't get upset because people who do no work in your department want to know how to do something correctly.

In conclusion don't expect them to actually do their job.

Can't agree more with other reviews.. customer service is non Existent.. It's very poor communication skills.. Customer service is Below Comcast if that gives you an idea of how horrible they are... On top of the horrendous customer service they If signs over all entrances to Royal Palm Beach building Stating non vaccinated must wear mask.. Force You to ware mask or no service but yet it is totally appropriate for employees sitting at their desk do not have a mask on behind 3 pieces of plastic

Josephine was very rude, had no professionalism in her treatment and service. A disappointment that in an office where service and kindness should be essential that does not exist. Too bad there is no supervision in such an important office. I had to wait for the service that I received, the least I deserved is good service and treatment. If there were -10 in review, that would be the perfect one for this office. Horrible service.

Horrible building department. There architect/engineer completely designed there fence job wrong using some inside measurements and some outside measurements for fencing. Fencing industry is always measured by outside measurements. They inspected and watched us doing install constantly criticizing everything. They wait until the last day we were completing the fence to say they want different posts and chainlink mesh. They wanted posts from India over USA made material that's twice as strong. What building department wants foreign material over American made??? I've typically seen municipalities wanting American made material but not this building department. Don't bid jobs for them and if you do add 150 percent to account for there mistakes that they will make you pay for. Shame on yourself for wanting an entire fence ripped out and replaced with foreign weaker material.

I agree with the bad attitude from employees. Some of them are even sarcastic. It doesn't matter if you go in person or call, they're always rude and unprofessional. I honestly don't understand how they have this kind of job. They are permit technicians but they can't answer simple questions. I hate that I have to deal with them.

why can't a real person answer the phone it isn't hard, can't get any info on a inspectors eta and took over a year to finally get a permit

Being very generous by giving this staff a one star… that’s all I can say about that

Everybody there seems to have some type of attitude I get it we all have problems but leave your problems at home when you’re at work especially the building department

Both Permit techs have very bad attitude towards customers. Customer service is terrible here!!!
