I worked for this company a year ago. Specifically their Journey's brand. I was hired as a co manager and than quickly promoted to manager when ours quit. I have never hated a company more than this one. I was pregnant and working 86 hrs a week for almost 2 full months because my district manager avoided ACTUALLY looking for me, a co manager. The store, not being allowed to be without a manager in the store at any time, drained me and caused me so much stress throughout my pregnancy I became preeclamptic and delivered 2 months prior to my due date. On top of this blatant disregard for their employees health and awareness for the kind of image they prortray to their employees, I was told by our "acting DM" at the time Brian, who was also labelled as "Satan", that even though I had a Drs note from the ER telling me to take 2 days off I wasnt going to be able to because, and I quote "No one is going to want to go to work after getting drunk the night before to cover your store. You're going to have to go in and just sit in the back or something." Mind you I was 32 weeks pregnant and had been contracting due to catching the 24 hr bug from lack of sleep and being surrounded 24/7 and no breaks OR days off. Black Friday was no exception. STILL being without a co-manager I, still pregnant, only got a single hr of sleep because I had to be right back in my store before anyone else. This company does not care for their employees, especially their women, pregnant or no. Even if I had stayed, maternity leave was unpaid.
