Don Juan Mexican Bar & Grill - Maumee

First time coming here with my partner and the food and service was amazing! Top quality Mexican food I’ve had in the Toledo area in which my partner who’s Mexican can attest too as well (:

Amazingly fast service. Food was exceptionally well prepared, was hot, and certainly tasty. The margaritas were around half price between 3 and 6:00 so it certainly recommend you go then. We were treated like customers who were really valued. You don't always find that today. It has been a while since we've been there so it was great to go back and feel welcomed and appreciated.

Came in a little before closing on the off chance I could place an order for take-out, and they were all too happy to help. And the food was delicious!

So happy the 2023 Foodie Card found this restaurant for us!!! Definitely will return, we found the menu to be no just your run of the mill boring swamped under bland tomato sauce & cheese burrito NW Ohio Mexican with indifferent service, that feeds the average masses. We were warmly greeted by staff upon arrival and welcomed to this cute, clean, nicely lighted restaurant, as if we were meeting old friends.

We enjoyed the salsa bar while deciding dinner, with fresh warm tortilla chips, definitely try the hot sauce - not just fire with no taste, chipotle came through well and the guacamole salsa, light & fresh way to add a bit of guacamole to our dishes without the whole heavy dip.

Started off dinner with an appetizer generously sized lobster quesadilla, lots of lobster finished off with char grilled onions, peppers and creamy cheesy deliciousness.

Dinner: I had Del Mar Trio, a generous portion of crab/ shrimp/ tilapia lightly grilled with pico/cheese melted to stuff fresh warm tortilla shells. I put a bit of that guacamole sauce on top and it made a lovely fajita style seafood dinner. I wish I would have taken a pic, it was a pretty dish. Hubs went with the Taco Tuesday simple $1.50 special tacos, we were so surprised at the amount of ground beef and excellent seasoning. The big hit was the GIANT bowl of Caldo De Pollo as part of hubs dinner, huge chunks of chicken, a really nice selection of vegetables, broth that didn't come from a can but full of flavor and bright flavors. I did take a pic of this, it was such a cool soup for my hubs to enjoy.

Last but NOT least, our service was on point. Vincent offered suggestions and gave me tips of dishes, drinks he liked when I asked. It wasn't just an "upsell" to me but he genuinely knew the dishes, when he served us and people around us, and it showed. We had kind of a long day ahead of our dinner, he made us feel welcome, attentive and was very pleasant to chat with. Service like Vincent's is what makes a dinner out, as we do love wonderful food, but when paired with a knowledgeable attentive server it simply completes our meal for us.

We usually come every other week for date night. Service is always amazing, quick, and great drinks and yummy food. We love having Vicente as our server!

Tasty food and a great staff. This place happened to be right next to our hotel and what a welcome surprise. I started with the spicy tortilla soup and settled on a number 4 combination beef platter. My guest had a fajita burrito and I’ve never seen such a massive burrito. The margaritas are very tasty with a wide variety. I was very pleased with the portions. I look forward to coming again on another visit.

Absolutely outstanding!! Great food, great service. Salmon was so tasty and the spicy salsa was to die for. Icy cold beer washed everything down. Staff was super friendly and prompt. Will definitely visit again.

Waitress was very helpful making sure we were able to take advantage of the happy hour specials and helped with menu questions and selections.
Everything turned out great for a nice dinner experience.

Delicious food and drinks. Patio was nice to enjoy the weather. Service was nice and quick. Does get busy so there will be a wait but usually it's not too bad. Live music on weekends. Would recommend the fajitas.

Been here several times. Food and service was great again. Combo meals are good price $10 come with chips and a lot of food. Nice variety of items on the menu too. Also like the salsa bar. Love the margaritas too! Read my older posts for more details also posting some pics...☺

Delicious Margarita Happy Hour starts at 3pm all flavors but margaritas only for the deal!

Went on a Friday at like 6. Food and service were good. Yummy Mexican food.

A wonderful experience. The service was great, it was only his 3rd day but the entire staff was accommodating. Not overly crowded, not a ridiculous wait(or any) and perfect atmosphere for some laid back chatty students after a test. I plan to return soon with my study group and have all good things to say about this location of Don Juan .

They have great prices, serve exceptionally large portions and the food is great. For a chain restaurant that is rare.
