My husband and I took a marine-diesel engine repair and maintenance class here years ago, and loved the practical instruction from Jim Zima. Not to be confused with another business by a similar name in New York, this Great Lakes Diesel is a stellar company and has a good reputation in the Cleveland area for repairs and sales. We still use our class handouts for keeping our Universal 30 running.

Great communication, they worked hard to find the parts to fix my transmission, and they got everything needed the first time. I'm very pleased with what they did for me.

Just called to find out services, prices, etc. and Cheryl, the executive assistance was VERY knowlegable, genererous with her time, easy to talk to, and happy to answer a hatful of questions I had about diesels. I'm about to buy my first diesel boat (twin inboards.) 'Being new to them, she allayed a lot of worries and fears I had! ... So glad to have discovered this company!

Extremely hard to get the to return a call about ordering parts or getting service done. I asked them to replace a bleeder bolt for the fuel assembly and help me find a problem. They didn't give me a helpful answer other then replace everything and charged me $300. Got a second opinion from another mechanic and they fixed the problem in about 10 minutes and charged me only $50. The problem was there was a line not attached completely
