If you like winter camping, this is the place to go. I always hear that it is completely packed in the summer, but in the winter, it was nice and peaceful. The shower houses are extremely clean and well-kept, warm, and with all the resources you need. The visitor center has great resources, firewood, friendly people, groceries, and all of your emergency needs, as well as some information about travel. I really like the campsites that are on the river. I also enjoyed lots of hiking during the winter when we went. Overall, a great place.

I stayed at campground B. No electric. No cell phone signal. It was perfect and quiet. The river was so close and the sound pulled me to sleep. I didn't take my dog on this trip as I was trying out a new lightweight tent. :)

Located just south of Loudenville, Ohio in the beautiful Mohican State Park, the park campgrounds include two main camping areas, Camground A and B. Campground A is geared to the RV Camper with paved pads and electric hook ups and has a swimming pool, shower facilities, playground and numerous restroom facilities. Campground B is located further up river and is set up more for primative camping. Most sites have a picnic table and fire ring and there are many riverfront sites at both Campgrounds as well.

Such a wonderful camping experience! Went here for a friend’s birthday over the weekend and had 3 primitive spots for our group and it was perfect. We had more than enough space for all of us with the spots and were able to fully enjoy being in nature. The grounds were clean and really well kept. Loved that the staff did trash pick ups each morning. We had a great time and definitely will come back again.

Beautiful!
Mohican never disappoints. We didn't camp, but we accessed the hiking trails from the campground parking lot. Friendly employees at the check in center.
Hiked the North Rim trail. Didn't see many other hikers. A lot of beautiful wildflowers, trees, and wildlife. Saw several black (gray) squirrels, which was really cool and an unusual sight.
We hiked the trail along the river heading to the new suspended bridge. We didn't get that far due to a thunderstorm storm that rolled in. Next time for sure!

Lots to do in the area!

We stayed using an electric hookup only. Felt pretty private with a good amount of space between the sites. Fire pit provided (as with most state parks), dumpsters readily available, and restrooms were all within a quick walk. Shower house was a short drive up. Consider winter hours for the camp store, which we did not. 😀 haha

We also drove the kids up to the lodge for an indoor swim one rainy day. They had so much fun! The restaurant had delicious food as well! (VERY limited gluten-free options though). My husband loved the brisket mac-n-cheese.

We stayed for about a week in September 2023 in the full hookup area. Hiking. Sitting. Walking. Talking. Beautiful fall days. A daily visit to the store for an ice cream cone. Sitting by the river. What's not to like?

This seems to be a perfect place to bring grandchildren for a week.

We wouldn't hesitate to return if we are in the area again.

Our stay at Mohican State Park Camp Ground was a memorable weekend. Plenty of things to do at the campground and in the area. Just down the road are canoe liveries and local food options. The camp store is well stocked with some food items, shirts, and souvenirs. The campsites are spacious, level, and never far from a restroom. We will definitely be back.

Great campground. Tons of bathrooms, huge shower houses, nice pool, and well stocked camp store. Plus floating down the river is really fun.

Mohican State Park is a beautiful and massive place. If you enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, and it just being outdoors in general, it is one of the best places in the state of Ohio to spend your time. It has ample and diverse camping facilities ranging from primitive with minimal hookups to having full electricity available.

If you don't have time to spend camping, you can spend an hour or two hiking on one of their many trails. Some are more advanced with steep surfaces, and others are much more simple and friendly to less experienced nature-lovers.

Whether it is in the spring and all of the leaves are just starting to come out, a hot summer's day where you can enjoy the full shade of the deep forest, a beautiful autumn day spent experiencing the beauty and colors of nature, or a snowy winter afternoon and you are taking in the splendor of a fully coated group of evergreens, Mohican State Park truly does have everything that fans of the outdoors will enjoy.

We did not camp, only walked through the camping areas. A beautiful park. Nestled in a valley of sorts the breeze was noticeable. Campsites are large with plenty of space between you and your neighbors, something you do not have at East Harbor. The pull-thrus are uniquely situated parallel to the roadway. The riverside sites are amazing and would be ideal for tent camping.
Gorgeous park. Very clean.

I went for memorial weekend. I had such a good time!! It was my first time with 8 other friends. We stayed in cabin 199 and it was right by the bathrooms! The cabin cots were not comfortable but the cabin was needed for electricity. We hung up lights, set up tents, sat by the fire all night laughing. When driving through the camp, so many people have different campers and set ups, it’s so nice to see. We rented the krafts which was $30 a person. Going down the river was so much fun. We brought our speaker, food, and other things we needed and it fit perfectly. We tied two krafts together with the life jackets and rode down the river. The weather was nice and it was just a great overall camping experience

The staff at the campground entrance station went above and beyond to recommend that I use my Buckeye card to save $$ and also get the Ohio State Parks rewards card. Their assistance was superb! Our stay at Mohican SP was very relaxing, peaceful, and with plenty of things to do. The park is very well maintained and we plan many more visits.

Great staycation spot about an hour from Columbus. Plenty of outdoor activities if your kids need a break from screens. Creek, hikes, pool, and more just on the grounds. If you need more adventure there are plenty of options just outside the park from extreme adventure parks to canoes. Close to Loudonville if you need to restock and there is a small supply store on the grounds for essentials (and ice cream). The sites are a little close so it isn't like private camping, but you have your own fire ring and table.

We stayed here for a week in November 2020 and didn't want to ever leave! the park is clean and well kept, bath houses are spotless no matter when you go into them. Spaces are paved and roomy with a picnic table, fire ring and full hookup at ours. we did have a little quirk on keeping the water turned on and had to use a stick to hold it open,, no big deal. the WIFI is only good at the camp store, I like this and consider it a blessing. as an added bonus I met a fellow Marine on November the 10th! the Marine Corps birthday. we will be relocating to this area next year and plan to use this park as our home base while we build our house, look very much FWD to getting back there.

In my opinion, they have everything you could want! If you enjoy playing in water, this is it! There is a river, pool, and splash pad. There are numerous hiking and mountain biking trails. They also have an amazing playground. This is by far my favorite state park campground to stay at in Ohio!
