A really nice park for an Ohio State Park. I've done a number of trail races in the park over the years but never camped out or hiked the park until late March 2024.

The campground is pretty tightly packed with spots so be prepared to get to know your neighbors. The campground facilities were well kept and clean. Each site had a relatively new adjustable height fire ring/grill.

The park offers a few different pretty hikes which feature the parks streams, river, woods and dam. Trails are generally well marked and easy to follow. Seasonally, the canoeing looks fun and easy since the river is notably shallow and slow moving

The park's proximity to Cleveland and Columbus makes it an accessible option for a simple weekend away. The park is also close to different food options (fast food, restaurants and grocery stores) so you have options for food if you're not a camp cook.

Mohican State Park has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. My grown kids and my not so grown kid all love to day trip or even better, go camping here. The campgrounds are very nice, well maintained and the staff is great. We've made so many memories hiking, camping, tubing, picnicking, and just driving through to enjoy the view. Fall of course is our favorite, but all seasons have their beauty.

This was my first visit to Mohican State Park. I will be going back. In the fall, there may be no better place in the Midwest to see autumn colors. It’s a wonderful park in a beautiful section of Ohio. perhaps I should add that I found Mohican an entirely more enjoyable visit than my one time visiting Hocking Hills. Mohican is a beautiful parks in a beautiful section of the Midwest. Hocking Hills is basically a one hit wonder with a waterfall and a cavern but not much else.

You can't get a bad season here. The rocks, trees, and river make this place a nature lover's paradise. It even has a trickle of a waterfall. The whole park is beautiful. It has several trails that are suitable for energetic kids of all ages. Definitely worth visiting!

Great hike. Gorgeous views and even got to hike along the river. Definitely not for those with walking issues or trouble with steep inclines. The trail we did was very steep at points. We can't wait to go explore more!

Beautiful place to hike with a lot of interesting natural formations. The paths were fairly easy to navigate. Parking was ample and well maintained.

Fantastic place to go. Lots of very well marked trails. Beautiful waterfalls. The lodge is amazing! We didn't stay but checked it out. Staff was very friendly. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Small video game room. Gift shop. Large dinning area. Banquet rooms. Outside dining area overlooking a gorgeous lake. This place has it all!!!

Mohican never disappoints. The gorge trail is gorgeous and the suspension bridge is a must do. Be aware that there are places along this trail that could be challenging for some.l - steep inclines, a ladder, and rough terrain are all a part of the adventure.

The fire tower is a must stop to see and climb!!!!! The trails have so many interesting spots. The trails are kept nice, and they are so many to hike. You need a couple of days in Mochian to see it all.

Yep...very nice as they say (trails review).

Visited Mar 2023. Got there about 7:30am on a Tue. First car. I parked in the lot at the dam. Search on Pleasant Hill Dam. I started on the right with the Lyons Falls trail. With this and pretty much all the trails, I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't really muddy. When I hiked Blackhand Gorge I thought I was gonna need a snorkel in a few spots. But Mohican was nice. I only slipped once. Looked down...saw that someone else had slipped...thought I'd better be careful...and then proceeded to slip anyway.

It had rained the day/night before, and both falls were in action. Nothing huge but still pretty. I don't have any past trips for comparison. I suspect they may dry up a lot without rain.

I emerged by the river and headed to the covered bridge. I wanted to hike Hog Hollow but it was closed for some type of work apparently. Bummer. I crossed the street and there was a steep-looking trail that I forget the name of, and I can't see it on the map I have. Maybe it's called "Hidden Trail" ;) I liked this one a lot...a good little challenge. Also managed to catch four deer when I hit the top and started back down toward the campground. I was beginning to wonder where they were. Unlike Blackhand, it was pretty sparse here deer-wise.

Given the day of the week and time of year, it was also lacking in people. I saw ONE dude. I was tempted to question him as to why he was in MY park, but decided against it.

The trail signs are perfecto. Very helpful. I also had good cell coverage throughout (T-Mobile) but didn't need it. The only nit-pick is that the painted tree markers they use are all white...regardless of the trail. So you have these great SIGNS which show nice trail colors for each, and then ya just use white paint on the trees for ALL of them? Boo. But whatever...it wasn't an issue.

One characteristic that I found here...everyone and their uncle apparently likes to carve into the trees. And the rocks. I'm guessing if any deer get trusting enough then someone is going to carve their name into them too. Come on ppl...be better.

Challenging yet doable trails! We opted for the Gorge Overlook Trail & were not disappointed with the hike. The Gorge Overlook Trail is a 1.8-mile trek, with the beginning & end being steep. I recommend starting your hike on this trail from the furthest parking lot. It takes you to the left, where you will see the overlook point and can continue. I recommend starting here because that way, you aren’t climbing up the steepest point; instead - you go down it to the water & the hanging bridge at the beginning. Some parts of the path are narrow. There are bathrooms located at the overlook point, and since it is a loop, you can venture there before and after.
Happy Hiking!

A great place to take the family on a hike through the woods. Nice trails. Some are harder than others but most are doable for intermediate experienced hikers. Some aren’t suited for children, but there are still plenty that are.

Our family love this place! We have made it a tradition for the last 12 years of coming here. We have always stayed at the cabins. Even before they totally remodeled them (which they did a fabulous job). It is a nice quiet environment to recharge and relax with plenty or nothing to do. Local trails are near on site, play grounds for the kids, pool on site, laundromat, public bathrooms, showers, small convenience store also. Also about a mile or two is Family Dollar with food section and many conveniences. If you stay in the cabins, they supply all kitchen items, bathroom towels, cable TV. Just bring clothes, personal items and go!

Such a beautiful park! It was our first time exploring and loved it. It helped that it was a beautiful day too. This park has so much to offer! We hung out near the river, swung on the swings by the covered bridge and played in the creek beds for hours. So nice. Cannot wait to come back!

Enjoyed the visit here. Park was nice and had a lot to offer as far as hiking and MTB trails. Trails are easy enough for anyone at any level to be able to enjoy them. Most hiking trails that we were looking at were under under 4 miles. The MTB trail was a bit of a challenge as it was a 23 mile loop with over 3k ft of elevation. My boyfriend completed it but warns that the map online does not state the correct amount of elevation gain.

Beautiful park! My husband brought me here when we were dating and still brings back memories. Love the gorge overlook, the bridge everything. We got our engagement photos taken here, helped a friend with a college project where she needed to take outside pictures of someone and I told her here is the best place to go!

We stayed at the Mohican Adventures campsite. It was very nice. There are multiple cabins you can stay at, as well as RV sites, tent sites with electricity out in the open or you can go more primitive and have sites up in the woods where you need four wheel drive to get up to. That is where we stayed. But there was also a bathroom with a light that stayed on all the time on the exterior so you could find your way to it. They were two stalls that had running water and flushing toilets and we're very clean and taken care of. Plenty of toilet paper and paper towels. The light came on automatically once you entered the bathroom. Would definitely recommend staying there again. There's also a 7 Mile and 15 Mile river tour you can take right across the street, also part of Mohican Adventures. They also have go-karts, ropes course, and Putt-Putt there. We have done the 7 Mile river trip three times this year and the 15 Mile river trip once. If you take the 7 Mile trip, there are multiple places you pull your watercraft right up to for beer, drinks, food, and bathrooms.

It was awesome! The river runs along the side of the campground. All the atff members were nice and knowledgeable. The little store has everything, including ice cream and steaks, to take back to your site to cook. We will definitely be back.

I love driving through the forest and staying in the campground. Camping without electricity, beside the creek will be one of my next adventures. Even the cabins are beside a creek. They also have a lake and lodge with indoor and outdoor pools. The lodge will be closed for repairs from February to May 2024. It's beautiful here.
