We had a very enjoyable experience. The price encompasses all meals and activities. We were impressed with the view and the helpfulness of the staff. They had a wonderful kids club for children aged 4 to 12. We appreciated the opportunity to take our son there and relax as well. The only drawback was that the fireplaces in some rooms were smoky, but guests could choose to avoid those rooms. This was a minor inconvenience for us, and we would recommend staying in a room without a fireplace. The views are stunning, and it is a lovely place overall. I highly recommend it..

Though expensive, the stay offers exceptional value. All meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—are included, along with a comprehensive list of daily activities. The food is outstanding, far surpassing typical hotel fare. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet-style with numerous options, including an omelet station at breakfast and a pasta station at lunch. Dinner is a more formal sit-down meal with a menu requiring reservations. Activities run throughout the day and include options like hiking tours, archery, tomahawk throwing, meditation, and yoga. Some activities, like the Pinnacle Ledge tour, incur an additional cost, but the hotel's activity sheet and online list specify which ones. Booking any spa service grants all-day access to the spa, even for lower-cost services such as manicures or pedicures. The staff is incredibly friendly and dedicated to ensuring guests feel comfortable and enjoy their stay. We had a fantastic experience and will definitely return.

Been there for a university program. Stayed 2days and 1 night. The nature is so beautiful there. Enjoyed hiking, and kayaking. Foods were really good. Pool was clean. But those room looks real old. That was not a problem until i found a centipedes on the roof, directly above my face while lying down on bed. I killed it using my shoe, but couldn’t sleep after that thinking of possibly presence of more centipedes . Another problem I found in the morning, there was no toothbrush and toothpaste in the washroom. I called the receptionist she said they don’t provide those. Later I found out there was a card in the washroom with the towel that if I needed brash or paste, i have to call their housing service which is a different phn number from the reception. At last i got what I needed! It was my second time there, but 2 years ago my experience was better.

We bought a day hiking pass. It's a beautiful place to explore with a variety of viewpoints offering exceptional views of the Hudson Valley. The gardens are lovely. The lake is inviting. There are easy, paved walks and quite adventurous scrambles, so you can easily pick the grade of your adventure. This place is appropriate for young and old explorers.

Stunning place. Service is great. The staff is VERY well trained. The location and place are truly amazing. The food is great with the variety and quality. The family wants to keep returning every year. Tried my best with the pictures, but can never do justice to this magical place.

Mohonk Mountain house is a relaxing getaway not too far from the city and NJ. The place is clean and well maintained for the age of the place. The food is absolutely delight and in great quality. The service is top tier from all the employees there. Especially Eamon. Eamon made sure that I was attended in all my needs in the restaurant within the house. He went above and beyond with his service. There’s many varieties of activities that are offered to their guests. From swimming in the lake, canoeing, hiking, entertainment during certain hours of the day. You can also do nothing and just admire the scenery of the property. It is such a relaxing environment. The trails has such beautiful scenery throughout the property that you will enjoy. I recommend this place for anyone looking wanting a getaway to relax and unwind.

Had the most be beautiful stay here. The place was amazing. The food was amazing. So much to do here too. If you need to disconnect from work this is a great place to do it. Just so you know there are no television in the rooms. So put you're phone away and truly disconnect. You will love this place!!

My family had a long weekend vacation at the Mohonk Mountain House and we loved it! The customer service and attention to detail they put forth is second to none. Everyone goes so far out of their way to be friendly and helpful. I lost my hat and did not realize it until we were checking out. The hotel manager personally tracked it down and found me on the grounds to personally return it to me. It was very refreshing to receive this kind of service which seems to be a thing of the past. The food and drinks were excellent and the trails are beautiful and well kept. The hotel has so many activities to keep you busy during your stay. Hiking, biking, swimming, archery, fire pits, the spa. You name it and they have it. I would absolutely stay again.

Mohonk is an absolute treasure. Having lived locally at one time and proposing there ten years ago this August I had forgotten just how special and fortunate we are that places like this still exist in the world. We spent the day visiting on Sunday and took the kids to brunch and hiking the labyrinth/lemon squeeze on Sunday. We corralled some family that lives in Beacon and had an absolutely wonderful experience. As a foodie you simply cannot best the brunch, it’s exceptional. The scenery and experience of being in such a special place is unforgettable…

We cannot possibly say enough wonderful things about Mohonk. I've been going since I was a child with my family and now my husband and I enjoy every trip we take there. Daryl at the front desk is incredible, thoughtful, caring and detail oriented. He exemplifies the Mohonk spirit we love so much. We also are always grateful to Jamaal and the team in the Dining Room for making magic happen each meal time. Always a delight. This past trip we enjoyed fishing, archery, hiking and of course, the guided tours of the house itself. Will be back soon!

We actually had afternoon tea and dinner here. We didn’t realize how magnificent this place is as we drove towards the entrance. We thought it was a big house with restaurant when we googled it. Once we drove up two miles from the entrance to the top, we were approaching a magnificent huge castle hotel. Inside the building the decor was in 19 century style with a lot of wooden walls and frames and filled with antique furniture and chairs. Afternoon tea is included in the dinner. We had tea, coffee and cookies. The shortbread was so delicious. Dinner was in a huge dining hall. Customers can choose from a three-course menu of French cuisine. I would say the food is good enough to meet your expectation. For the entry, I had lamb as my wife had Halibut. We both were satisfied. In addition, dessert was surprisingly good, delicately arranged and not too sweet at all. My wife and I plan to visit the place again in summer.

Our initial impression was not ideal: Upon entering the park we were met by a surly man who instructed us to leave their parking area and return with our tickets which must be purchased online. There is no option to buy it onsite. The site was a bit of a challenge to navigate on a phone and it was not possible to purchase the day of (despite the parking lot being empty) so I bought for the next day hoping they’ll not give us a hard time. This time a woman met us and condescendingly told us she’ll give us the pass despite it being the wrong date.
She gave us vague instructions and when I returned to her for clarity, she started her exposition with “as I explained before…”
So the gate keepers had a bit of an attitude but I suppose that is the duty of gatekeeping.

If you can tolerate the gate people, the rest of the adventure was magnificent!
The land is immaculately kept, incredible fauna and flora, gorgeous lakes, a pond that looks like something out of Game of Thrones together with an ancient looking tower that was built in the early half of the 20th century. The workers at the restaurant and gift shop are kind and pleasant and an absolute joy to interact with. There are a myriad of hills to explore and the views are breathtaking. We encountered graceful deer, adorable tadpoles and fish, turtles sunbathing and a rich diversity of birds. The walks are not challenging at all if you hike fairly regularly (2,3 times a month).
We bought snacks at the very quaint and charming gift shop which interestingly enough had copious amounts of British snacks like flake and aero chocolate which harkened me back to my childhood. Their prices were great considering they have no competition and could price gouge if they so chose. Aside from snacks the gift shop had candles and jewelry and books and milkshakes- the list goes on and on.
The folks working here are so fun and interesting to talk with, just stellar humans 💜

Together my friend and I with one car was charged $70 to park and explore. Thats $35 a person. I am happy for this experience. I am glad we did because otherwise we would always wonder. Yet also knowing that there are a plethora of equally gorgeous hiking opportunities in NY state that doesn’t charge - its a thought to ponder.

After our adventure we explored the adorable town of New Paltz which has plenty of lovely restaurants, shops , great small-town vibes and homemade chocolate 🥰
What a perfect end to this fantastic journey.

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful three night stay at our favorite resort. From the first “slowly and quietly” sign approaching the house the feeling of serenity hits you. Upon entering the house you can feel the craziness of the world disappear and calm start to set in.
It’s not just the place that makes it so special but the staff. From valet, to front desk, housekeeping, restaurants, the spa, all are happy to help, all have a friendly word and smile.

I’d like to especially thank Colleen at the front desk for being very accommodating, to Jennifer in the spa, wow you are just plain wonderful! Thank you for your care and for going above and beyond! You scheduled me with Diane for a haircut and it was great! Thank you snd thank you Diane! I’m sorry I didn’t get up to show you the morning I left.

For all of you who kept my husbands “ surprise anniversary” a secret, Thank you too.

Thank you to all the 6th floor housekeeping!

Mohonk! By far my favorite resort and Spa. I’ve had the pleasure of staying here many times over the past 26 years. It never gets old, it never disappoints. It’s an experience:)

Valentine’s Day stay at Mohonk Mountain House, another wonderful surprise from my Husband. We skated, hiked, relaxed, enjoyed really fantastic meals, and never wanted to leave! The service was impeccable. We were cared for by very gracious wait staff, front desk, housekeepers, valets. Very friendly, very professional!

Mohonk is my happy place. We went in the winter when the main activities were hiking and ice skating and it was enough. The place was not busy at that time, we felt that we had the woods to ourselves. I would go back there in a heartbeat for more hiking. The sunrise hike to the Sky Top tower was the highlight of my trip. My daughter appreciated the plethora of most beautiful running trails. We felt very well taken care of, the place was calm and quietly luxurious. We also loved the spa after a day of hiking and running. After just three days I felt recharged and ready to face the world.

Beautiful location that's easy to get to. Resort is gorgeous, food and service are good. Room is a little dated and cold. The grounds are breath taking. The building is very cool, some very skilled craftsmen built this gorgeous resort

Amazing experience. The location is beautiful and there is so much to do. We went in the winter and were able to hike, ice skate, do campfires, listen to live music etc. the house is beautiful and full of history as well. 100% will come back in the summer to experience the lake more

This was a trip I will never forget. My husband and I went in November but there was still plenty to do despite the cold weather. Everything was just phenomenal… the food (delicious and accommodated my diet restrictions), the spa (best pedicure I’ve ever had), the room service (they come and build a fire in your room), the location itself (just absolutely stunning like something out of a fairy tale), the staff (so friendly and accommodating), the activities (hiking, ice skating, wood burning, swimming), the history (cannot believe this place has been around for 150 plus years). I cannot stress how worth it is to make your way to Mohonk even if it is for the day. Already looking forward to when we can go again.

Magnificent backdrop setting with a spiralling 155 year old historic resort meticulously preserved to original structure. Unlimited brunch has one of the best selections offered. Top notch service was only matched by the delicious options.
Wonderful hiking to the peak and around the lake for endless photo opportunities. Ice skating and nearby skiing, Next will be the cliff scaling for beginners...

We have visited Mohonk several times and most recently spent New Year's weekend there. Yes, it is pricey but we found it to be well worth it every time. Our room was clean, quiet and comfy with an amazing view of the lake and the New Year's fireworks. All of the food was delicious, especially the dinners (lunch and breakfast are buffets). All of the staff was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the guided hikes/walks and all of the live music and other New Year's activities. We also appreciated that while the house retains its old-fashioned charms, they are constantly making upgrades such as installing more outlets in each rooms for all the devices we need to charge nowadays. We can't wait to come back!
