Walnut Creek Recreation Area

My wife and I have visited this lake several times now. It is such a nice and kinda secluded spot to walk or watch a sunset.
I have flown my drone over the lake a couple times now and it’s a great place to practice.

Lovely place with many amenities. Offer water fountains for the pups and human dog park goers. 5/5 cleanliness, convenience, and a well established community of genuine kind people, a great place to go for anxiety relief, destimulation. And nothing but puppy loves. Recommend to all ages, check park restrictions for age limits of bringing your dog. A very respectable place with a multitude of areas to walk on trails right outside the dog park as well as all around the park itself. Lovely native trail attached to the dog park as well as obstacle

This is a great campground. It doesn't have all three fancy bells and whistles, but it's clean and well maintained. There is no showers and it has community water so you have to fill your water tank before you set your rig up. It does have 30. And 50 amps sites. It is a first come first serve camp ground. We come about twice a year and really enjoy our stays. Close to all kinds of stores and entertainment.

I love this dog park because it's huge and the dogs don't huddle in one certain area. The dogs can run and lots of cool spots on warm days

Awesome. Very nice spacious RV park. Not full hookup but water and dump are available. A little noise from the high school and construction going on but hearing a kick butt marching band playing and saxes in the morning sometimes is pretty cool.

Love this place. Great place to walk, jog or just contemplate life.

Very easy park to access in Papillion! A quiet park during the late morning in the middle of the week. It is very lovely to walk around and to watch people fish, bike and others walking their furry friends. The trail is according to the sign one hour to walk. Don’t forget your water bottle and walking shoes!

This is an awesome place to hike or go for a picnic. I have heard it is fun to fish and kayak as well but I personally have yet to do those things here. I hike here multiple times a week. So far I have only been hiking here since early Spring 2019. I am hoping the paved trail is open during the winter for my husky. The bathrooms on the east side are much less aromatic than the ones on the west side of the lake but both always have hand sanitizer and toilet paper. It is a great place for seasonal photos and beginning birders. The unpaved trails range from beginner to advanced, but all require decent shoes. There are several parking lots (two with boat ramps) as well as foot access from the local neighborhoods. Overall this is just a lovely place to go to get outdoors for a day. I just wanted to make a shout out to the rangers/land stewards that are maintaining Walnut Creek. You are doing an awesome job.

Great 3+ mi trail around the lake... scenic compared with other nearby lakes as it bends and weaves around the lake's interesting shape. Plenty of benches if you need a break and the trail is well maintained with mowed grass on both sides of the trail

The Papillion Parks and Recreation department do an exceptional job keeping this park clean. Scenic, 3.2 miles, Great lake. No wake bouting, paddle boarding, fishing, bike trails, Picnic areas. Conveniently located South west of 96th and hwy 370.

We were having a hard time finding an RV park since it's the off season. This place popped up and we've been so blessed. The host was so kind and helpful to us new timers. The park is a giant loop with many potable water fountains around. The dumping station is at the front of the park. We felt super safe letting our kids roam the park. We will definitely use this park again if in the area!

Lovely! As for bathrooms they are glorified porta potties, but fairly spacious and with toilet paper and some depending on which one you go to. Wheelchair accessible bathroom entrances and toilets

Beautiful strip of nature in the middle of a suburban environment! Take a casual walk, go for a morning run or bike ride, or drop a line in the water to catch that big one! Whatever reason motivated you to go there, you'll find beauty and serenity at Walnut Creek.

Wonderful place to let your dog be a dog. Large fenced area with plenty of room for running and playing. Nice dogs, nice, responsible people. Great place to exercise an active companion!

Beautiful lake. Very busy. Has a paved trail around the lake and a playground area for kids. There is a boat ramp for the no-wake lake. Fishing pier on the west side.

Walnut Creek is such a great park! Playground, lots of picnic tables, bathroom, mountain bike trails for dirt running or hiking, and a paved 3-mile loop around a beautiful lake. The paved loop isn’t boring either, like some lake loops in and around Omaha; there are elevation changes, curves, and changes in the ecosystem.

Great place for a run or walk. Lots of beautiful native grasses and plants. Always some type of wildlife including otters.

3.3 mile trail around a lake which takes about an hour to walk. Very pleasant.

Great lake all around! It has several nice picnic areas around the lake. There are several areas around the lake that you can park at, each one with public restrooms. The trail around is approximately 3 miles long and all paved. It has a fenced in area where you can unleash your furry friend and let them run around and be a dog. It also has a pretty neat little garden near there boat dock that has a cool variety of plants. It's also a nice place to cast a line and catch a few fish!
