China Bowl

They're nice in here, and give you tea, soup and egg roll with your lunch. I thought it was a dated classic cool place to sit in and eat. Reminds me of how the 1970s would be.
I got the shrimp and lobster sauce and the shrimps were huge. I have been on the hunt for good northern chinese food in the area, and this is one of those. I grew up with these kinds of places back home and it's nice to see they haven't died everywhere, especially the ones who include the tea free.

China Bowl is a nice sit down Chinese restaurant that has become rare since the pandemic. The food is good, the value is great, and the portion sizes are large. Lunch specials run $10-11 and are a great value for the money. Soup and egg roll are included with lunch or do as I did and ordered from the lunch menu without the egg roll and received a huge portion of General Tso. The huge portion of sesame chicken that my children ate consisted of all white meat chicken. Absolutely delicious! Check out the China Bowl, I think you will find it satisfying and familiar.

Always good service, food is even better than you'd think and I usually always get take out. Food will never be cold when you get it home.

They also got a new parking lot so the place is very accessable.

Coming from out of state and I'll be back next time. Egg drop soup with the sugar was so good. Fried rice with added bean sprouts highly recommend. Appreciate the Server caring for us🥰

Simply the best Chinese food downriver. Don't order soggy carry out trash from a competitor. Go here where you can dine in and enjoy the meal hot and fresh!!!

We are never disappointed when we order from here. The egg rolls are stuffed and crispy. The portion sizes are gigantic. My favorite dishes are Almond Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken and Beef Chow Mein. I’m not too fond of the Egg Fo Young

China Bowl or those who knew it from before as Cathay House has hands down the BEST egg rolls you are ever going to find. Their sweet and sour chicken isn't the gross red sauced ketchupy tasting garbage you find everywhere so you are good there and the fried rices no matter which kind are stellar. Basically all the food slaps and the prices are ok. You could seriously do so much worse than here so do your family a favor and feed them well.

I love this place - the best Chinese food that I've been able to find in the Downriver area. I got a carry out order last week and they said there was some change in their prices so here's the updated menu.

A really surprisingly good restaurant. From the egg drop soup with crispy fried noodles to the crunchy and tasty crab meat rangoons everything was delicious. I had the beef with peapods and mushrooms and though I am a big eater it was too large a portion for me to finish.

It is very low-key, and the food is awesome!!!. Very tasty and fresh. Keep up the good work. 👍

The selection of food was wonderful. The dining area was completely remodeled and very clean. The soup, egg roll, rice and meats we're very good. Dining for two was reasonable in price. With plenty of leftovers to take home.

Originally was headed towards another Chinese restaurant a few minutes down the road, but seen how busy this place was and turned in. First time here. #11. The chicken was cooked perfectly! The sauce was flavorful. Little heavy on onion, imo. Decent amount of meat to vegetable ratio. Of course 2 big scoops of brown rice. Had I ate it first, I'm sure the egg roll would have been much better, but either way tasted good. Definitely will be back.

I'm from the Eastside of Detroit and you tend to stick to what you know. I moved over here when they were 1st called Cathy's. Either or the food is damn good. I ordered the Chicken Lo Mein(see photo) and it was so good. Try the entire menu and see for yourself.

First time visiting and shame on me. Everything was great. A heads up for fried rice snobs, it's good but a little stickier than most and void of any veggies.

Me and my family been going here for years. The employees are always very nice my brother is known so well they call his dish the special after his name. I was worried when Cathy’s house got sold that the food Quality would go down but absolutely did not. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ all around, plus one day they lady forgot to give me my sauce for my chicken but I didn’t even call to complain, but the next time I ordered she remembered herself and gave me something for free. No other chines place out here better than them.

Only one waitress and she went overboard for everyone. She was very busy but did an excellent job. Food was wonderful.

This is the best Chinese food restaurant in the Downriver area. We love the food and service.
