Pigeon Roost Memorial State Historic Site

It’s difficult to go to one of these locations and get a feel for what the surroundings were all those years ago. Something sad and tragic happen here, and it deserves to be remembered.

A tragic story and part of our states history during the War of 1812. A Beautiful monument but it looks like some damage has been done to the fencing surrounding the obilisc when I visited there in August of 2019. And the historical marker had been vandalized. These issues should be fixed so that the fallen can be honered respectfully and people of today can still learn about the past. No matter how tragic it may be.

It's a nice memorial. My sister-in-law and her family are laid to rest in the cemetery by there.

Its not everyday you can travel back to the 1800's and envision a massacre taking place.

Quite and quant , there's a Pokemon stop here and gym as you leave.
