I've been going to have all my cars service at Fontana for over 30+ years. He always very nice,did a great job n very honest,long time ago,I brought 1 of my old van to fix n asked if he thinks it worthwhile to fix this major item,he told me no it's too old not worthwhile, so I didn't. He could of making good money on my major fixing,but didn't, he's not only fixing my cars,but my daughter's n son's cars too. His price is very good too.

In 10 degree weather this morning my husband's car wouldn't start. After getting a jump I called Jim at Fontana's and asked if I could bring it over for a new battery. No problem, bring it over. He ordered a new battery and it was delivered and installed in no time. He is always dependable, helpful and friendly, and his wife is too. Highly recommend them. Thanks, Jim!

I am from Chicago but moved to the Warrenville-Naperville area 2 weeks ago for work. I was driving from getting off from work when I noticed my engine light was on and then the car started to shake and not accelerating when pressing on the gas. I passed by Fontana Auto Repair Towing services to ask for help fixing my car since it was not drivable. Jim and His wife took great care of me and fixed my car. After being told at another local auto shop that I would need all new brakes and rotors on my 3 year old car with 30,000 miles I was skeptical. I took my car for a second opinion to Fontanas where I was told that my car didn’t even need new brake pads yet, let alone rotors. Jim charged me $20 for his time, while this other auto shop was trying to get $1,200 from me for an unnecessary service. I will be a loyal Fontanas customer from now on!

I have found this gem through a good friend of mine. Jim Fontana is extremely knowledgeable in automotive services. He is the honest guy who owns his own place and loves what he's doing. He doesn't have a corporation pushing for more.

Mr. Jim at Fontana's was really great. He worked with me providing my own parts and when some of them were wrong (Right part number but parts website sent wrong item), he went out of his way to find the correct parts which he had already sent back once he saw I had my own parts, and make sure they were installed.

He did all of this within the day I dropped my car off. He wasn't sleazy like the service writers at a dealershit, who just want you to spend money. He was up-front about everything from the start, and I would absolutely come back.

In fact, any service I have to pay for, I'm absolutely consulting with him first.

They are the best! You know how people always say they wish they had a local mechanic that doesn’t rip them off but they’re hard to find? These are those people. They always call me and talk me through things, and just all-around great people and great service. It’s the only place I take my car to.

Good people! Jim was incredibly helpful. Let me just say that as a woman going into mechanics or auto parts stores, I am usually patronized and talked down to- despite the fact that I don't know how to do much car maintenance myself, I grew up in a very mechanically inclined family (i'm jealous of the boys in my family that got taught how to fix stuff!) so I know enough to know when I'm being scammed. I didn't have to deal with ANY of this here, which was amazing and refreshing.
Jim worked with me to try to figure out what was wrong with my car and was honest about the fact that he wasn't as knowledgeable about the make/model of my vehicle- which I appreciate, cause obviously me either. He walked me through the potential issues and costs of each based on my description of the issue. I was expecting a more time consuming and costly fix, but when it turned out to be a simple issue with a worn out belt and poorly installed alternator, he made a point to show me the issue and had me touch the chewed up belt! They totally could have taken advantage and charged me for the more expensive fix, with me none the wiser. But their honesty and involvement has earned them a life long customer in me, as well as probably a batch of cookies,.

05 Odyssey L.R. bearing broke during a trip to Naperville, IL from East Coast. Thank God Fontana is near by. Jim & Diana treated us like their family. Very touched... These are really good people. Jim fixed the issue as soon as he could so we can have the car for the rest of the day. Now, our 14 yr old van is back in business. It rides so quiet and I just can not stop thanking Jim & Diana for everything they did. Again, Jim is a good and honest mechanic. You can trust him to take care of your cars.

Been coming here for the last 7 years, fontanas has taken car of 3 of my cars so far. Pricing is fair and they are honest. Jim is great. Even after moving out of warrenville I still make the drive to take my car here even just for an oil change.

The key is to find an honest mechanic, someone who listens to your observation of trouble and will repair right, the first time. And, Jim and Dave deliver everytime. No baloney, no frills, no long stories of how it's going to cost more ... two straight up honest mechanics. In a world of dishonest bums and shaky yodellers, I feel blessed to know these gentlemen. There's a special place reserved in auto heaven for these guys. Domestic, import ... don't matter. Heck, I remember having them evaluate a potential auto purchase which saved me years of grief. Nothing but the best here.
