China Palace Restaurant

Having moved out of state it's been a years since last visit. I feared inflation had put prices out of range or reduced quality or quantity like so many other places. But my fears were not justified. I was VERY impressed with their reasonable prices. I ordered Curry Jumbo Shrimp while my friends had Almond Shrimp and Sweet and Sour Chicken. All were Excellent. The service was friendly and attentive. I was very pleased.

I've been coming here since I was kid and we've grown to know the family that owns it. The food is always good and I'm glad they've stayed open and hope they and their restaurant are open many more years to come!

The food is some of the best I've had and the atmosphere is very cozy inside

This restaurant’s food is so good! Drove half an hour to try. Really old school restaurant with old decorations but I loved it. Best Cantonese food ever! Waitstaff very attentive and was well worth the drive. We dined in and it was a very pleasant experience! Will be back often.

Food here is always awesome! We usually get the egg foo young, combination fried rice, egg rolls, pot stickers, and honey chicken. Tonight we decided to try the shrimp lo mein, and wow! 5 stars! Big, flavorful, properly deveined shrimp. The togo person was also very friendly. In my past I have worked at 2 different Chinese restaurants in the Chicago area. Ching Hua and Chung's in Des Plaines. China Palace has the best food in the area, and most importantly, consistently good. "Consistency is the most important thing." - Chung Ng

Great drinks and the duck is awesome... make sure to order ahead if you want the duck... very tasty. The appetizer plater is also a big hit!

I've been coming here as a kid and still enjoy the food and atmosphere. The restaurant is family owned and all the staff are sup friendly.

We had dinner yesterday at China Palace..The food was delicious. Everything was fresh. We had the Royal Family Dinner. It included a selection of appetizers, a choice of soup, fried rice, jasmine tea, and an almond cookie. The service was impeccable. I don’t remember the last time a server offered to box my leftovers; at other restaurants they just drop off a box. It is worth the drive to experience great Chinese food.

I started dating my wife when she was 15 years old she worked at the China Palace in 1980 we still eat there. Tony and his wife still run the business it's great to see a family business run that long. We had dinner there last week and the sweet and sour pork was the most amazing I've ever had and to top that off we both had full course meals with egg drop soup and egg rolls the total bill was only $32 plus I left a $10 tip where do you eat a meal like that for that kind of money. We have never been disappointed with their handmade egg rolls, egg drop soup or any of their classic Chinese dishes in over 40 years.

Best Chinese food around. If you are daring, get the Chinese mustard & the chili paste. It's hot but it enhances the food so much you eat more. The tea is wonderful & the mixed drinks are even better. The employees are awesome!!! Lots of food at a good price!! Also the inside is beautiful, especially the bar. Just relax & eat & drink!

A bit more expensive than chain-restaurant ones, but worth it. Have been there numerous times over the years and still my go to for dine in (pre/post the plague) and always 100% go to for carry out in area.

Food was excellent, egg rolls were huge, sweet & sour chicken was lightly battered so you could taste the chicken not just fried batter. Servings were enough to share between 5 people! Very friendly on the phone & when I picked up hot & securely packed so didn't spill. Looking forward to going back!

Awesome experience! Daniel was super friendly and enjoyed chatting with him as I waited for my carry out order, and our food was excellent. Everything tasted fresh with lots of flavor. Very unique setting. The owner is one of the nicest people around and has a ton of knowledge about the area and history! Highly recommend!

Fresh ingredients and a beautiful atmosphere make the 30 minute drive from my home in Wisconsin 100% worth it. The menu is shorter than what you see at many typical chinese restaurants, but it looks like they focus on food quality rather than variety of dishes, which is a strategy I can admire.

The food was excellent. Great flavors, perfect textures and a good amount of spice. Prices were very reasonable. This place is a hidden gem for sure. If you're in the Janesville/Beloit area and tired of the same handful of restaurants to choose from, not all of which are even any good- the China Palace should be on your list.

Great prices for great food. Less than $10 per person, including rice. The owner is so sweet and has for years made us feel welcome. This is my first visit to the China Palace since I moved away from home, and I understand why my family brought me here growing up. Friendly, welcoming environment and tasty food. On top of it, they have an old, wooden style bar with lots of character.

I have been eating at the China Palace in Rockton for years! Hell, I used to wash dishes there back in the 80s when I was a teenager. LOL! Anyways, the food is always been good, it is just as good now as it always was. I just ate there with my mom and we both enjoyed the meal, immensely! The people there are always very, very nice, you get great service, you never have to wait on anything, they are never rude, and the owners treat you like friends.
I would love to see this place be as busy as it used to be, again.

The Mai Tai's are the best. The food was delicious. The staff is super friendly. A great place for family dinner or a date night.
